My Wife wanted to go see a movie so I checked Cinemark Tinseltown and saw they are playing 'Sight'. We were there a couple months back and saw the previews of this movie and she wanted to see it. So, I informed her that it's playing - she wants to go. Arrived for the 2pm showing (only $5.75ea, great deal) - picked out our seats and went in. We are the only ones in this Theater - it's like a Private Showing and that's really cool. Our Seats (love those lounges) are in the middle of the theater and we both set them back as far as they would go - nice and comfy - but the do have a strong sweaty odor (that's bad). Raised up the Arm Rest and saw at least 60+ Popcorn under the Arm Rest. Placed it back down and relocated out seats. These seats also have that bad odor but no Popcorn under the Arm Rest. Enjoyed the movie but hated the odor in the Theater. When the movie was over I was going to raise up all the other Arm Rest but decided not too because the Lounges had that bad odor. I did raise up the one where I found the Old Popcorn. Hopefully they will clean this - and the other Theaters - better. We are not going back for several months because they don't clean very well. read more

This is a great movie house with stadium seating with recliners and heat. Paid $12.25 for 3D one ticket which is half the price of a regal ticket in MD. Clean, nice lobby and snack bar. They also have an arcade. My pick if you're in or near San Angelo. read more

The luxury seating is a great improvement to the old seating. I love the fact that you can pre-order your snacks and have them delivered to your seat. You can even get an adult beverage if you like. read more

Ok recently went to watch a movie this was not my first time at this theater, I notifed the cashier that the popcorn was extremely salty, they gave me some from a new batch,but told me that they hope it isn't salty and it was also salty I just left it there, they didn't try and take care of the situation, I emailed customer service and because I didn't have my receipt or a card transaction ( I paid with cash) they wouldn't do anything for me . That not customer satisfaction at all, disappointed. read more

I would give zero stars to this place if I could strictly because of the management here. In Dec, my daughter and two of her friends went to see a movie one evening. During the movie my daughter noticed a few times that an attendant would come to their area with a flashlight and just stand her and stare at them then leave. Following the movie as my daughter and her friends tried to leave, they were told they can't leave and to stay where they were without being told as to why. Then a younger guy came running out of nowhere stating "it was them it was them!!!" Again, no explanation as to why they can't leave, then they were told that they were smoking marijuana in the theatre. No proof of this being done, nor do my daughter or either of her friends do this. This is unlawful restraint and is illegal to do holding them without cause. Then it turns out there was a girl smoking weed in the theatre and had already been reprimanded and put in a police car. Still told they can't leave; my daughter then starts getting upset they finally tell them they can leave in which my daughter says you can't apologize for being wrong to the manager no response nothing just looked away. This really upset my daughter. Side note-- to the idiot young manager who illegally hold three teenagers just by their appearance alone of being semi-emo, you should be fired. You clearly do not know the side effects of smoking weed moron, their eyes would have been red glazed over they would have had a certain smell to them or acting nervous or fidgety. I called the theatre after I picked up my daughter as she cried in the car from embarrassment, I spoke to the manager who then bluntly lied to me saying he didn't accuse them of anything. I told him he is lucky I wasn't in front of him as he lied about this because I would take him outside and beat his ass in response all he said was yes sir apologizing to me about what had happened. Did it really have to come down to me threatening to kick his ass to make him admit he was wrong??? This type of crap makes me want to boycott yall's damn theatre altogether. Garbage like this happens again, and you will be hearing from my attorney. read more

I live in Austin, but my parents are still in Angelo, so every now and then I will catch a movie when I am in town. I happen to catch Star Wars this time around. The staff is friendly, and they do have an easy online system for ordering tickets, but it is somewhat downhill from there. The establishment is definitely not the cleanest of places. There were not tons of people there, but the ones that were there talked the entire movie. We did mention this to the staff, and we were told that there wasn't much that they could do about it. The popcorn, while delicious, was very greasy and leaked through the bag all over our clothes. The portions sizes were also not that generous for the price that you pay. The chairs were comfortable, so that was a plus. Will probably go back only because the options for movie theaters in Angelo is limited. read more

This is a modern movie theater with the surround sound and large screen you'd expect of a theater these days. I went there for a matinee and it was not crowded despite it was within a few days of the opening of Dunkirk; I found great seats. They offer a military discount as well. I think it would be a great addition to include an independent film or something out of the ordinary even if only offered on a single screen 1-2 nights a week. read more

I gotta say going to the movies is one of my favorite escapes. Cinemark has been the go to around here until the new cinema opened. But instead of staying in cruise control. Cinemark stepped up, updated their chairs, and adjusted their prices. We like the setup and as per tradition we like to get our photos in the photo booth. This is a great family place and it has police security. They give good deals through the rewards program. When we came we walked into a very clean theater with clean seats. I think which theater you choose depends on what part of town you're on. I like that they have special presentations of classics, and non traditional ones (documentaries,etc). read more

I was in town to visit family for the holidays and like most people, we thought it would be fun to see a movie together the day after Christmas. It had been a long time since I went to a Cinemark. I live in Austin and Alamo Drafthouse is my theater of choice. We knew it would be busy so we split up once we got inside so that half of us could snag seats while the other half got drinks and popcorn. The concession stand only had two lines open and the guys behind the counter were flustered and confused because a lot of people were producing numerous coupons in which they were unaware of how to ring up. It took them so long to get our stuff that had we not split up we would have ended up sitting in the neck craning front row. I'm sure they knew how bananas the place would be the day after Christmas, that it was almost comical to pass other concessions stands on the way to our theater that were not open at all. I don't know if they were understaffed but they clearly needed some help. Look, I'm all about ways to get a bargain and they do that very well here. They offer early bird ticket prices on the first film showings of the day, they have an app where you can put your phone on movie mode during the film and earn points to use for rewards in doing so, and you can even sign up online for weekly deals and coupons. I think on a normal day with a full staff they probably operate a lot better. At least, I hope? read more

I was here in San Angelo for business, and if you have visited San Angelo you know there isnt a whole lot to do. So when I Yelped Tinseltown, I was greatful. The atmosphere is okay... the people are oh so friendly. As most other theatres its mostly kids (16 - 19) running the joint. Went to see the Dragon Ball Super: Broly Movie and it was a great experience. Tickets were very affordable. I reserved my seats online and had to pay a fee to do so but at ticket office I just showed them my phone and they printed my tickets took all of 15 seconds at the most. Seats inside were great. There are pretty good size seats with a electric recline feature and also have two heat settings for the back of the seats. After th movie was over they had a exit at the end of the hall that went to the parking lot so you don't have to walk around. I think it was set up well and is the best theatre that I have been too. read more

Excellent seating, the rows are tiered so the person in front of you won't be in the way regardless of the height difference between you and them. The seats are comfortable. There aren't any seats so far to the side that it's uncomfortable to turn your head. The concessions are your basic small town movie theater type, nothing that really stands out about them. Prices are just as expensive as other theaters as well. It doesn't matter how slow or busy the concession stand is, it will always seem they are moving way to slow, I don't understand it. There can be 1 person in front of me but it still takes 10 minutes to get nachos and a water. read more

The chairs are new!!! Those who have kids know how important the seats are to a movie theater. I have always had polite staff and today isn't different. The popcorn and cherry coke was exactly what I expected. The movie wasn't too loud. My family and I watched Nine Lives and it was funny. We had a really fun experience. read more

The only reason I'm reviewing this is because it is the only movie theater in San Angelo. I've lived here my whole life and can't believe a town with 90,000 people have one option in theaters. Luckily, Cinemark Tinseltown is decent and adequate in every area. Popcorn is nothing great but seats are fairly comfortable and service is average. read more

There are a few positives here. The theater shows a decent number of films and has a good range of show times. All of the staff members I have encountered have been quite friendly, I have always found the bathrooms to be reasonably clean, and I do appreciate the $5 Tuesdays and the random special showings of oldies-but-goodies like Gremlins and Spaceballs. That being said, one would think that when a place is raking in $7 popcorn tubs and $6 sodas, it might pay a bit more attention to upkeep. Many of the theaters smell musty and have torn and/or broken seats. Today my 6 year old actually fell through one-- and he wasn't even doing the normal kid-fidgeting thing. He was just happily watching Minions, and suddenly his butt was on the floor. If there was any competition in this town, I don't think people would choose this theater as it is now. If some money was invested into maintenance and upkeep, that might be a different story. read more

I give it 4 stars went to see Jackass 3D, didn't wait more than 30 seconds to get our tickets and was virtually no line to get in and the seats were very comfy I enjoyed it, screen is kinda fuzzy might want to get that looked at overall good experience, and alot better than I thought this town would have for a movie theater read more

Only one in town. Packed on opening weekends. No independent films. Usually only two checkins. Added an electronic check in but not for R or higher. Usually only a few snack booths open. Cannot access bathrooms until you get your ticket checked. Uncomfortable and filthy seats. Allow children into anything with parent like "50 shades of grey" with toddlers. A little too lack in that department. Always pushing something at checkin. Military discount but usually best to forego that and get etickets. Tuesday has 5$ movies. read more

We saw Bridesmaids here last night and weren't disappointed. We searched for movie theaters in San Angelo and found out this is the only one. Honestly, I was just surprised this town has a movie theater. We went to the later showing and we were a little early. We didn't wait in line long, but it should be noted that this place will probably (or IS during earlier parts of the evening) be crowded with pre-teens and other younger people if the ones we saw were any indication. There were two girls outside screaming like morons and who-knows-what and one girl in a red Chevy Aveo circling the parking lot blasting Nikki Manaj. LOL, it was actually kind of funny by the third time she'd gone by the entrance of the theater. The police officer they had standing near the ticket taker was a little unsettling too. The actual theater we were in was fine- just like any AMC, Loews, or other theaters we're used to from back home in Arizona. read more

It might be the only option in San Angelo, but it's a good choice regardless! Adequate seating, up to date cinema amenities, good concession selection. Tickets are decent in price, and concessions can add up pretty quick as usual for any theater. Overall, it's a nice place, and our favorite place to stop to catch a movie on the weekends! Located within the same lot of a pretty solid ice cream place, a McAllisters, an Applebees, and even a Vape shop if that's of any interest. It is also near the Sunset Mall, Buffalo Wild Wings, etc. etc. read more

GROSS just GROSS...As you can see from the picture I posted this theater is filthy. It was not just 1 seat like that and in 1 of the theaters it was all the seats and in all 5 of the theaters we have been in. My husband and our friend wouldn't even let there heads rest against the seats b/c they were so dirty..the theaters all smell bad and all the seats are broken with broken springs....we will never go back there. It's very sad that Cinemark allows this theater to be this way. read more

Since it's the only movie theater we have in Angelo, you'd think an establishment with no competition would constantly be trying to enhance the movie goers experience with remodels, and deals but the same floors have been sticky and poorly cleaned for a decade. Hopefully with the oil business boom, it will usher in a new movie theater and this will entice them to try harder. read more

1-star just because at least they SHOW movies. The sound is often times almost silent and when it does go up, it's massively unevenly mixed. The majority of seats are completely broken or at the VERY least super-squeaky. When I lived elsewhere I went to movies more than once a week. It's my hobby and my habit. Since being in San Angelo though, I've gone maybe a total of around 7 times in almost a year. Even opting out of seeing films I desperately was waiting for just to avoid the sound, seating, and service. They should pay us to see films here. Just because you're the only game in town doesn't mean you can give crap service. read more

The theater was pretty quiet for a Saturday afternoon. About 20-30 people per movie. The prices for matinee are great and the sound/picture quality are perfect. The only negative is the price and quality of the snacks available. read more

Because of the other movie theater opening up in San Angelo, these guys have definitely stepped it up. They have also added leather seats and their food prices are better now as well. Since i live closer to this theater i don't really see a reason in going to other one. read more

ONLY theater in town, so it's this or nothing. Unfortunately, I believe they have become a little complacent in the cleaning and upkeep of the theater seating, and always feel like taking a shower after watching the movie. Other than that, the employees are friendly, their prices are relatively competitive, compared to other cities and less than they could charge being the only place in town. I never buy concessions as they're too expensive for my taste. The sound quality is good, and they've never had playback problems. read more

This theater is not the newest in town, and they've had some issues- the lines are super long sometimes. BUT I will pick them over the other choice in town EVERYTIME. Their prices are up-front, they offer what they say they offer, and our family has a good experience. Staff is friendly, and the popcorn is FRESH! I had one bad experience here, and contacted their regional offices. They were totally respectful and polite in the way they handled it, fixed the issue, and and it has made all the difference. 04/12/18. Lydia, the manager, was very unprofessional and disappointingly not up to par with the customer service that a fair and courteous manager should display. We r visiting from the Houston area and it is our last evening out. We decided to enjoy a movie at this venue. Roughly 30 minutes into the film the several speakers blew and began making an obvious and loud crackling and popping noise; so much so that we, and several other patrons were annoyed and unable to enjoy the show. My husband, along with other patrons went to speak to Lydia about the issue and about getting a refund for the tickets. She informed my husband that she would give us passes for another show, which was fine. A refund was not possible bc we had purchased through Fandango. No problem. But what is so rude and shockingly unprofessional was the fact that she then asked us to leave. She said that we were getting passes for a future movie but that for now we would need to leave the current film because she was giving us passes. WHAT?!?! If we were at a restaurant that wasn't able to come through on the food or service that THEY provide, we should NEVER be asked to leave. Rather, given an apology, hope to finish the crappy meal (if we chose to), and most definitely offered a free or significantly discounted price reduction on our purchase; just out of sheer good customer service and client retention for a bad situation, not of our own fault. Lydia actually asked us to leave! We stayed only for another few minutes longer. Then the speakers completely went out, then came back on. Front speakers only; no surround sound. And the front speakers were popping and crackling. Then a staffer came in, lights came on, and the movie stopped. The staffer said it would be about a 5 minute wait to restart the system. At that point we left. Future passes are NOT equal to good customer service and I will be calling her boss to let them know how rude her service was. read more
