I had to give a star but didn't want to. made a reservation which I thought was their website according to online as I went to paypal to make a payment and come back to the website my reservation was gone I relogged in and thought it was my original reservation so hit the button but it was the right dates this place would not work with me and change my dates without future fees. I will not stay or deal with people like this. read more

It was very interesting. We stayed in the room 301. After my eye surgery I had a great time as well as great could be expected. Didn't enjoy the eye surgery, but that's neither here. Neither was very nice and I come in the staff. read more

Not an 8 out of 10 hotel. I picked this place because of the high rating on Hotels dot com (spelling it out in case Yelp auto filters other's websites) At check in, I confirmed with the front desk clerk that I was getting a non-smoking room. He said yes it was non-smoking and that smoking rooms would cost more. Upon entering the room, It reeked of cigarette smoke. The mini-fridge wasn't cleaned and stunk of wet sour towel. We couldn't use it. The carpet by the mini fridge was dusty & torn. The room was in general dirty. I wanted to change rooms, but it was late and we were so exhausted, we just crashed after spraying some air freshener. In the morning, I showered and noticed more disappointment. See pictures: red stains on toilet seat & lid, stained thin towels, & mini-fridge. Most notable a wash cloth dingy and stained. I took a pic of it by the white tray, to show how dingy it is. It was presented on the bath tub, placed over the bath rug, with that dark stain prominently displayed. Perhaps it's a message from housekeeping that they know the towels are filthy and just don't care? My rating 1 out of 10. A nod to the spaciousness of the dirty room. read more

I was in San Angelo due to a family emergency. I have always stayed at this Rodeway Inn. It is no frills, and in a nice part of town. Unfortunately, I will no longer be booking a room here. I drove in late and pulled into a parking spot outside of my hotel room. By accident, I pulled into a spot that was reserved for "maintenance." The sign is tiny and barely visible in the dark. I woke up to a truck blocking my car in. It was the maintenance guy. I was stuck for 2 hours. When I finally found the maintenance man, he replies with "CaN yOu NoT rEaD?!" Absolutely lost all respect for this place in seconds. I have family in town this week for a funeral, and booked 6 rooms for 6 nights elsewhere. This is not how you treat people. P.S. Lisa was nice and apologized, but that shouldn't be her job. We felt really bad for her. read more

The Rhodeway Inn had very friendly staff. There was no elevator, so I had to get my heavy luggage up the stairs. The King suite is nice and big. It's 2 rooms in one, but no tv in the bedroom. There are even 2 doors to get in and out. If you ever wanted to have a huge sleepover for adults or kids, the suite is a good place. The AC was super cold! The bed was amazing, I slept so good! The water pressure was not very good but it got hot. The breakfast has good waffles, but no protein. There were also fresh donuts from a local bakery. read more

When I stay in San Angelo I stay at Rodeway Inn and usually I'm very happy with staff and my room. But tonight the jerk checking me was very rude. Disrespectful. Called me suspicious because I was looking through my wallet looking for the card I booked room with. He told me I could leave if I didn't like his description of me. He bragged and how he told 5 other people that they looked suspicious today. That it was his job to keep the RIFFRAFF out. To keep people out that don't belong. Told him I stay there all the time and he was only person to treat me like that. He said he was doing his job. He also told me that he could tell me to leave and never come back. Apparently he doesn't like a female taking up for herself cause he sure does like to threaten and say I'm being suspicious. read more

While in San Angelo for my brother's wedding weekend our family all decided to stay here. The hotel is organized like an apartment complex with separate buildings and outdoor hallways. In the middle of the hotel there is decent sized pool and joining hot tub. Front desk staff was accommodating and friendly. The rooms left something to be desired. They were a little stinky and there were tiny bugs that congregated around the lights. Housekeeping only came during our 2 night stay to change our towels and take out the trash. read more

I spend a lot of time on the road with my trustful sidekick Winston (see nose pressed to the camera lens in profile picture). While I try to stay at another hotel chain, there are times when I have to resort to "other" hotels. In this case, the beggar could not be choosy. Thankfully, Rodeway had rooms available at the last minute. And thankfully, it was a non-smoking room. Plus, there was a great looking divey restaurant right across the street should one want to partake in seafood and/or adult beverages! And that's where the good stuff ends... Upon entering the room, I wondered what qualified as "non-smoking" to the desk person. The stench of stale, boxed up cigarette smoke from decades past assailed the tender sensibilities of the bird dog (not to mention my nose!). Whatever, I needed a bed to sleep in for the night. The A/C hadn't been left on, so using the tip of my pen to avoid the nefarious stains and mold spots, I hit the button to get the old busted 'n broke machine purring...or rumbling as it was more want to do. I quickly discovered on my sojourn back to the car that Mr. Door felt I needed to invite guests into my room. Making the mental note to ensure that I forcefully closed and latched Mr. Door, I felt semi-mollified to know that the bolt was in working order, even if the self-closing mechanism was not. The shampoo and conditioner were of mis-matched brands, but at least the smelled better than the weird cinnamon vanilla goop HI Express is passing off these days. The bedside lamps were delicate in nature, and required minimal bumpage in order to cast their bright light into the room. And, there was a final redeeming grace to my sad, budget-conscious room...peaceful silence with nary a sound from outside or the neighbors. read more

We were very happy with the room and the rate. Due to the oil boom the hotel rates in San Angelo have become crazy high. This hotel listed reasonable rates and had good yelp reviews so we decided to give it a try. We had to add an extra night to our reservation at the last minute due to an emergency. The hotel staff was great to work with and it was no problem to add the extra night at the same low rate. The hotel is also pet friendly. Which is important to a lot of people now. The room was clean and the air conditioner worked well, which surprisingly is becoming less and less common in my experience. There was a fridge and microwave in the room, which was nice, and made our stay better. The free breakfast was nice, it was more continental than traditional, but I enjoyed some bagels and yogurt and coffee. We will stay here again during the ASU football season. read more

Yes, 4 stars based on price alone. I've heard of very crappy $200+ per night rooms in San Angelo. As a smoker, I don't really mind the smell even though I don't smoke in my home or car. The bed isn't top shelf, but adequate to price. The room is actually nice for a tight budget. People are friendly and Donutopia is right around the corner. read more

Talk about a antiquated pain in the butt. This place doesn't even have an email address you can send anything to. I booked an employee a room here, and when he arrived at 11:00 they refused to let him stay because he didn't have a credit card on hand when the room was paid for with a Cc on file. They also wouldn't take permission to charge the company card with an email to do this they required a special form to be faxed to them, not emailed, but faxed... break out your pagers too while at it... who has a fax machine at they can just access at 11:30 at night . Oh and a special shout out to Linda for your incredible incompetence! So glad we got to waste this huge amount of time(1 hour and 30 minutes since arrival!) because your hotel doesn't want to provide basic technology from 2 decades ago nor train there employees. read more

However, as soon as we walked in the door they suddenly had system maintenance for the next 2 to 4 hours so they weren't able to rent out any rooms? Started with not having my room ready.... 1 and a half hours late. Nothing offered as comp. Front Desk person could do nothing but took note and told me to talk to manager in morning. When I arrived at the room it stunk!! Apparently the carpet had just been cleaned because it was damp and I confirmed it had been but this was causing the stench. Tried to turn on my TV .. it didn't work. They brought air freshener (didn't work) and fixed the TV problem. This was also relayed to the front desk as I was unhappy with the continued problems. Following morning went to shower, closed the door and there was a dirty towel on the back of the bathroom door. Also another fell out of the shower curtain as I opened the shower curtain. Afterwards went to eat breakfast and needless to say found hair in my food. Talked with Front Desk manager which said she could do nothing but would refer to the general manager but she couldn't call me until the following day. Next day - received call from general manager which made me repeat everything I experienced although this had been relayed already to the other manager. After explaining my terrible experience as a guest at her hotel was finally offered a measly 20% off my next visit which I would have to have her staff contact her on my next visit. I protested at this as this offered no more than what I normally receive as a gratuity for being a retired vet. I was told that this was all she could do..... I questioned why this was since she was a general manager which she responded "I could but I'm not". At this point I told her our conversation was over. Today I called the customer relations number and after a lengthy time it looks like I should be getting a full refund for my stay and is why I give them a 2 since Choice took care of me in the end but would NEVER stay at this place again!!!! read more

This motel is in need of updates on all rooms the general manager is a tightwad and only updating certain rooms He also doesn't honor all Choice Privilege Members With there rewards I'm sure he would charge you for the ice if he could figure out how. read more

Several weeks prior to our stay, a room with a king bed was reserved. Upon arrival, we were told there were NO king rooms ready, and was given a room with two double beds. The room that was given obviously had not been inspected since it had several dead bugs on the bathroom floor. Also, the shower's hot water pressure was very VERY low, making the shower experience frustrating. Knowing the lack of cleanliness exists, we decided to forego the free breakfast. This is an excellent place to stay. Great value also. The lady at the front desk was awesome she was super sweet and super helpful. The room is clean. This is our second stay here and we will be coming back. They have a Continental breakfast which included muffins,waffles,boiled eggs, yogurt, etc. juice and coffee. Not bad. I got the only room left, as I guess it's "rodeo week", whatever that means. I wanted a smoking room but they only had one non-smoking room. Then some guy comes in begging for s non-smoking room and we switched. I immediately regretted my decision as I walked into the room. It smells like someone smoked a carton in here just before I walked in. Other than that its not very clean in here, everything looks dingy and I don't look forward to stepping out of the shower tomorrow morning. I should've spent the extra $30 to go to Best Western. Can't say it enough! Customer service is top knot here! I arrived late for breakfast however a sweet woman brought out a plate to go for my children and myself. Coffee is full 24/7! Fresh linens and towels available at all times! I love the atmosphere at the pool. It feels more homey than being stuck on the side of a highway at a hotel. read more
