This is the movie theatre where I go when I want to spoil myself. The reason I wanna say this is because I always go at the VIP movie. They offer free parking for two hours which is amazing and honestly life-saving. Took me a while before I knew this. I have come to this place on multiple occasions and had the chance to almost try everything in the menu going from salad, too burgers & wrap. I tried a few drink also the bloody Caesar and a few slushy drinks. I love that you get to eat a meal while you're watching your movie and a very comfortable seat. If I have to recommend one of the item it would definitely be the wrap I think it is the tastiest one. Have a great solid option and honestly the size are pretty good. Price a great considering that if you go to the movie theatre the popcorn is crazy expensive. I wish I took more pictures of my food too show you. Most item rank between 10$ and $20 really good. Also before I forget they also have arcade games when you come in. Really fun if you come in with a few friends or by yourself Arcades are fun right. But be careful some games or just to gain points so depending on if you really want to claim your points to get prize or if you wanna have some fun depends on you. read more

Unfortunately, the Cineplex VIP experience has gone downhill. I've been pre-pandemic. My husband on the other hand had never gone. We went to see Top Gun Maverick, which was a fantastic movie. As we waited for the theatre to open, we started off the evening by sitting in the VIP lounge. I ordered a glass of wine, which I brought with me into the theatre. I expected the bill would transfer into the theatre, but the bartender found me before the movie started so that I could pay. It would be convenient from a customer standpoint to combine the bills, but I do understand this from a logistical standpoint. The problems mostly started in the theatre. I noticed right away the chairs were significantly worn since I last came, which I again tried to understand. Once we sat down, we realized the recliners were also broken. There was no option to switch seats as it was a sold-out movie showing. We pointed out the broken recliners to the bartender when she came to collect money for the wine, and there was little to no apology. Rather, her response was something like "They're probably broken." We ordered our food afterwards, "splurging" for the bacon cheeseburger. We each discovered partway through the movie that neither of our bacon cheeseburgers had bacon. I do have to say, I upgraded my side to truffle fries, and those were rather good. Whenever the opportunity presents itself, ALWAYS upgrade Our parking ticket then didn't validate properly, so we were charged for the 3 hours that'd normally be validated. My husband returned to the theatre to ask why, and was instructed to call TD Place parking. I likely won't return for the Cineplex VIP experience again, and will visit Landmark Cinemas instead. With the unfortunate series of events, it was not worth the premium charge for the VIP experience. read more

My husband and I hardly ever go to the movies, but we went recently to the Cineplex at Lansdowne and liked it. They have an arcade area in the lobby and I'm not ashamed to say yeah, I played skee ball, air hockey and "Deal or No Deal" LOL. You can buy a game card, and some games pay out tickets. It's all digital on your card (no real paper tickets like in the old days, haha). Then you can trade your tickets for prizes. They are all like carnival/mid-way prizes, so all cheapie stuff, but it's for fun, right? We bought a $10 card and got 45 minutes of entertainment and I was able to get the following prizes: a stuffed buoy, one of those tiny things you put in water and in a few days it grows huge, a mini slinky and 2 Tootsie Roll lollipops! They have a concession stand on the main level which also sells frozen yogurt, and a concession stand on the upper level where the theatres are. We got 2 large soft drinks and a large popcorn. We had a free coupon, but it would have costed $7.77. We just saw the movie at the regular theatre and not the VIP theatre, but the seats were pretty comfy and even reclined a bit. There were only 7 people in the whole theatre, so it was great for us! The theatre was not huge, but it was big enough. It was really clean. Staff were nice. They validate your parking for 3 hours. read more

We came here for Barbie movie. It was so much fun. Since we got there early, we each had coffee in the lounge before heading inside to the theater. I love that we were able to order popcorn at our seat. The seats were definitely run down, esp since we've last been, pre-covid but sut seats were still spacious and comfy. And I really enjoyed the options to lift the arm rest between us so we could hold hands. The pull out tray also came in handy for our coffee & popcorn read more

I have not been to the movies in years-actually, I will do everything it takes to not go to the movies (now with Netflix, who wants to leave the comfort of their couch?), but I decided to put on my big girl pants and venture out Friday night to go see a movie. Our group of four splurged on the VIP tickets, but unfortunately we were late and got there right before the trailers started to roll, so we were not able to order anything at our seats. Speaking of seats, the seats were comfortable and go pretty far back. I heard the front row seats have a leg rest and go further back. It can get pretty busy in the halls, especially on the third floor where the VIP theatres are and the restaurant and bar. The halls are pretty narrow, and with waiters running back and forth down the halls with food, I nearly knocked someone over. It's a cool theatre, would I go back? Only if a really good movie comes out that I just have to see, until then I will be Netflix'n and Chilling....on my couch. read more

It is fun to be able to order food and drinks in the VIP section. It is not cheap. The tickets are more expensive to begin and then you pay for food and drinks, although at decent prices. The menu is limited but it is ok. The practicality of it makes it worthwhile once in a while when you don't have time to eat before going to the movies. And it is fun! read more

We checked out the VIP experience, including eating dinner (burgers) and having a beer. It ended up being about $100 for the evening. It was interesting to try, not sure I'd repeat it. The food was A-OK. (The beer was good - but it's beer! Of course it's good.) ;-) The seats were super comfy with lots of leg room. (I did like that.) All in all, I'm not sure I felt like we got value for the money - but the value you will get from it depends on how you prioritize your life. We have gone back for other 'regular' movies and the theatre is nice. It's a movie theatre. It's clean, and the location is great - but make sure you take your parking ticket with you to get it authorized for the 2 hours of free parking (or is it 3 hours?) I've been spoiled with the VIP theatres and now never go to a regular Cineplex movie theatre! I love the cozy lazy boy chairs and the extra space between you and the person beside you. The food can be a little hit and miss depending on what you order but generally it is decent. Don't forget being able to sip on a nice glass of wine or tasty cocktail while you watch! The theatres are smaller which is awesome and most people are respectful and don't chat or check their phones during the movie! Love this concept!! read more

How can you not be a fan of the VIP theatre!? Cozy leather chairs, food and theatre menu as well as drinks and alcoholic beverages delivered to your seat! And no kids. Ah yes, for an adult night out, this is a great option. I went and saw star wars here, and was happy I spent the extra money. It was well worth it. You also get 2.5hr free parking although parking can be a challenge to find. What could've been better? Well reclining seats throughout the theatre would be the icing on the cake. Also more parking spots. tip for those interested in checking it out: ticket prices vary and are more expensive on weekends. read more

Five stars for the VIP experience, and 3.5 stars for the regular theatres. I figure it averages out to four stars overall. I've been here twice in the past month, the first time to see a comedy in one of their regular theatres. Parking here for the first time was an utter nightmare, so know that unless you come at an off time and snag the minimal street parking they have, you'll likely be parking underground. This isn't major, as they do validate your parking on the way out (stop at the ticket booth), which is nice. In our case though, we were late for a movie, and navigating the massive underground parking was a bit of a feat. You have to take an elevator up one floor (which was a bit too small in my opinion), into a small door that leads outside, then turn right. The theatre itself is interesting. The first floor is ticket sales, Poptopia (a gourmet popcorn booth), frozen yogurt buffet and small arcade. I got a small frozen yogurt with toppings and thought it was very fairly priced at just over $4 (way better than Menchie's!). The second floor houses the normal theatres and concession area. The theatres are smaller than Silver City or Coliseum, but I like them. The bathrooms, being new, are beautiful. I also noticed every staff member I came across was super friendly and helpful. They did a great job hiring here. Now, for the best part. The third floor houses the "VIP experience", which is awesome and so worth it. There's a lounge area for people who want to get legit food or booze during the movie, and then the theatres. As others have mentioned, the seats are leather recliners and super comfortable. They have food and drink service until the movie starts, which is awesome! The whole ambience is different when you're in a room of people who are all legal drinking age. I saw Jurassic World here in 3D, and would totally advise spending the extra dough on VIP for a really epic movie. read more

I made sure to arrive on opening day before the seats were properly defiled. Overall, this Cineplex is on the smaller side. The first floor had the box office, snack bar, and an arcade all crammed into a small space. It wasn't very crowded, perhaps owing to the fact that there aren't many viewing rooms. As well, the VIP space my friend and I were in was small, but not in a bad way. It felt intimate, like the kind of home theatre one could build in one's home if there was an excess in cash. Anticipating more a crowd, we had arrived over an hour before showtime. Perhaps others had planned better than we, because there were only a handful of seats remaining for the movie we'd wanted to see. We picked a slightly later show and headed to the lounge area. That, too, was small, but it was brightly lit and cheerful, and there was no wait. All of the staff were friendly and able to make good suggestions for what my friend and I might like. The prices were really decent, too. I usually go to the movies expecting to warn my firstborn that he could be the cost of admission or snacks, but that wasn't the case here. The food prices were comparable to what you'd expect to pay in a small local pub (everything I wanted to try was between $7 and $12, with a combo platter at about $17, and shared boards for about $19). The drinks weren't exorbitant, either; I paid about the same as I would if I were at a family restaurant. The mixed drink tasted like it had the same ratio as the aforementioned restaurant: not at all strong. It was tasty, however. Pretty much the same menu is available in the theatre, and there are servers to take and deliver your order, as well as trays that slide into the upright position (okay, they actually slide out in a fashion reminiscent of some of the desktops from my college days) so that you're not going to food and drink juggle on your lap. Overall, it was a nice experience. I don't know if I feel that it was quite worth the $22 admission (hence the four rather than five stars), but it was nice. I'd go back. read more

I love the VIP options here, with the special lounge it's a great place for a date night. A perhaps added bonus many might not think of is that because it's a licensed theatre that allows you to take alcohol into the movie means that you can enjoy a movie without the screaming kids or obnoxious teens that sometimes accompany a night at the movies. I also love being able to go into the theatre to get settled in your designated seat and being able to order food and drink (before trailers) right to your seat. My only complaint is that the age restrictions means there is no chance of ever seeing a Disney film here which is a shame because who doesn't love Pixar and a pint!? read more

"VIP" movie experience on the night of a 67s game (I had no idea there was a game scheduled that night, nor am I interested in keeping track of their schedule): 1) rushed from work to meet friends only to discover there was no parking on site due to game (um, thanks but I dont want to arrive to a movie one hour early...) 2) Arrived late after parking 5 blocks away, and asked the ticket checker/concierge if I could buy a drink at the bar to bring into the theatre, and was told no, I couldnt! I was perplexed, but already flustered at being 15 minutes late,so accepted this ridiculousness. Later found out that this is really the whole point of VIP.... As my favorite preschooler likes to say: What the pickle? I watched the Revenant (a spoof on wilderness survival films, with excellent cinematograhy and acting, for those not in the know) so I really could have used that drink. Absolutely not worth the $25 dollars - VIP? PLEEEASE. Only if it stands for very irritated person. read more

Great new theatre! I have gone to see "regular" movies and the VIP movies, and it is overall a great experience. The VIP tickets are a little on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for. They have reclining chairs, a beautiful bar/dining area outside the theatres, large reclining chairs and servers who come right to your seat! Pretty cool movie-going experience. The ONLY reason I don' give 5 stars is because the price to see a non-VIP movie is still really expensive compared to other theatres in Ottawa. I live within walking distance to the theatre so I haven't dealt with parking, however they validate your parking at the theatre so that is a bonus. The food and drink options they have are really good. I went with my mom and she got the burger and I got a chipotle chicken wrap, and we both loved it. They serve alcohol before the movie and they have a full drink menu with a wide variety of beverages (beer, wine, cocktails). Really makes the whole experience seem that much fancier. The first floor is the arcade, popcorn and frozen yogurt stand. The second floor is the regular movie theatres and the third is the VIP, all accessible by escalator. The place is all new and extremely clean, with a very nice and attentive staff. Overall, I would highly recommend this place and would definitely go back again. read more

How can you not love service directly to your seat! BF and I joined the lovely Christianne and Jeff to see STAR WARS!!! And I came a second time to see a chick flick with the beautiful Andrea B and Laura! What an experience - leather chairs, no kids, alcohol, pub food, and movie theater popcorn! Parking was an experience, but when I figured out that if you just go alllllllll the way to the end and park in the blue zone, not only are you close to the theater, but you're also close to the exit at the parkway! We sat and ordered drinks and food in the bar before going in, how civilized! The peach Bellini is wonderful, and the servers are great! What a fun job. We had the food delivered right to our seats, which was fantastic - the only thing I didn't absolutly love was the second time I went, we ordered food from our seats, and once it was delivered and we had finished eating, the movie had started and the servers no longer come into the crowd, so we were left with our dirty dishes until the we left. That being said - i guess the way to go is to order food in advance and eat in the bar, or eat it while the previews are on, so the staff can clear it before the movie starts. I really like this location. It's near a lot of other activities and restaurants, so it's easy to include in bigger plans. It's also a newer location so everything is still pretty new inside and is well laid out. I like the VIP lounge idea and the view from there is cool, but now that other locations allow beer in all their theatres this one will need to step it up to continue justifying the higher price. The service experience and the comfort were great. The food we had was disgusting. We ordered burgers and when they came, I could see grey! Grey, as in warmed on a plate, or worse a microwave - cafeteria style from the 80s. It was disgusting. By the time you buy 2 tickets, food, and 2 beers the evening costs $100. I will never be back - the disgusting food is seared (warmed, really) in my memory for ever. Recommendation: eat at one of the other pubs and then catch a great movie, you will have a better evening than we did. read more

Amazing! I can't go back to regular movie experiences after the VIP movie experience. My friend and I felt like we had died and gone to heaven! So I knew about the second floor, no idea about the 3rd floor, so up we went where we were greeted by a beautifully dressed hostess (like not your typical cineplex uniform; you could tell this was something special). We were then directed to the the theatre room, where we sat in our reserved seats and servers came to us. (Mind. Blown.) Definitely felt like I was being treated like royalty. I ordered the sangria and a brownie. (-1 star for the sangria it was not the best I had, a little disappointed). The other thing that bothered me was that all the items you ordered came from different kitchens (fair enough) but there was a huge time delay getting different things, on top of that there was a technical difficulty with the movie screening itself, and that put everyone off a bit. Moving on, the reason you pay more as far as I can see is for a few reasons; no children in the theatres, alcohol and service, and the seating. The seats are by far the coolest I've seen in a theatre, the armrest between 2 people can be pulled up so that you can get "closer" to the person you came with, as well there is a tray that pulls out for food, and finally they recline. Now I know that some cineplexes have the "rocking" kind of recliners but these are button operated and stay reclined. Bottom line of a very long review; yes, I would go back again with a date for a very special evening. Definitely worth checking out! read more

I just arrived home from ATTEMPTING to see a movie at Cineplex Cinema Lansdowne VIP Cineplex . My best friend and I have been looking forward to seeing Pitch Perfect 3 for months. So today, in the -27 weather, we made the drive from south of Ottawa, we bundled up, my best friend put her newborn in her baby carrier and we hurried into the theatre. Upon arriving, we were welcomed by THREE separate ticket scanners/attendants and not one said a thing about her infant, one even smiled warmly at the baby. We settled into our seats and were browsing the menu when a manager approached us and told us we would have to leave the near empty theatre so as not to disrupt the experience for the other guests. It was mortifying and there was absolutely no negotiation. He refused to have us seated even in the front row far away from the 4 other guests in the theatre. This baby is only 6 weeks old and spends nearly her entire day breastfeeding or sleeping/resting contently on her mother. This is especially frustrating as a busy family doctor with a toddler myself, having a time to enjoy a moment for myself is exceedingly rare and had been negotiated far in advance with my husband. In addition, both my friend and I are kind, respectful, professional women who would never think to bring an infant to a movie if we thought it would disrupt anyone else. We can attest to this as her baby has been to church services and a show at the National Arts Centre (without making a peep and without being asked to leave!!). As Cineplex stopped their mommy and baby shows for the holidays, we didn't have another alternative. I will not be paying $25 to attend a movie at this theatre any time soon and I encourage my friends, fellow physicians and all mothers to do the same. read more

I've been to this theatre twice since it opened, once in a regular theatre and once in the VIP. As everyone knows, the parking in this area is difficult. If there is no game or event, there is plenty of parking underground. The theatre validates parking for 3 hours. I was there, both times, from 6:30-12:30ish, and parking was around $10. There are signs directing where the theatre is located so that you can park nearby. As a note, if you get out of your movie later and there is no one on the ground floor, the parking validation machine is a small box, near the entrance/exit. There was no sign and we wandered around for a while before trying the machine. Along with the standard movie treats, there is a self-serve frozen yogurt shop, and a lounge on the third floor with the VIP theatres. Anyone 19 and over can go up to the lounge. I have not tried the meals, however the lounge has excellent cocktails (my favourite was the the Whiskey Punch) and desserts (fried cheesecake, delicious!) The regular theatre was just that, regular. The VIP theatre is spacious and has a nice arm rest/cup holder/slide out tray. One issue with the VIP theatre is that customer's are only allowed in a half hour before the movie, and servers can only take orders until the trailers start. This is not enough time for everyone to get their orders in. I did go within the first two months the theatre opened however, and I'm hopeful that the servers will get more efficient as they become more experienced. I would go again, especially for the date night deal in the VIP theatre which includes two movies and two meals for $50.00. read more

(Un)Comfortable Leather Recliners - BAD (Although it shows the recliners with the foot rest out and reclined - only on the front row does that. The rest recline only the back about 2-4". My wife is short and the high backs caused her head to be pushed forward and had to ice her neck when got home. I found there was a roll of material at the seat and back join and it started bothering my back after sitting for 2 hours (total 3 hours there) Service - GOOD - finished eating before movie started Wife's dinner - Chicken Parm Sandwich - REALLY DRY - hardly any marinara sauce, Salad - AWESOME My Dinner - Jalapeno Burger - AWESOME, Fries - similar to New York Fries with hardly any salt(shoulda had the salad) Parking - nice with having lights above the parking spots indicating occupied (red) or not (green). read more

So overrated. They take advantage of being the only big theatre in central Ottawa to gouge customers. Their regular price is more than other Cineplex theatres. Sometimes they don't even offer it in "regular" so that you have to pay more. For that reason I would go out of my way to go somewhere else. That said, it's a convenient location. Lots of shops and restaurants around Lansdowne, to get dinner and a movie. read more

Love the VIP theatre and lounge, I stop by for food regardless of what theatre I'm seated in. Had a rotten experience watching Star Wars -- from 1/3 in, the man next to me had his 4-year-old on his lap, and she talked and occasionally kicked for the remainder of the movie. When I mentioned this to staff, they very graciously gave me a pass to come back again. I really appreciate this -- no hassle, just customer service. read more
