I ordered chicken Pakora for starters and when it arrived it was severely lacking with 4 small pieces offered up on a saucer , I could have easily mistaken it for a substitute pickle tray. My main course I ordered was Chicken Masala , when it came it was a chicken tikka masala with dry chicken and very bland, the chapatti was very flowery and the nan was passable. The waiter asked me how my meal was before I left and I gave him a polite honest answer. Safe to say I will not be returning in future.

There were several Indian classics, like Chicken Tikka and different types of masala, but the Bangladeshi influence was also prominent with the various kebabs offered too. I was dining alone, so I got the appetizer portion of lamb tikka. It wasn't very large--seven nuggets of a lamb kebab. It wasn't very tender--maybe just slightly overcooked. But, the flavor was great! Look at it this way, the lack of tenderness actually was a good thing, because it forced me to chew the pieces longer, therefore savouring the flavor longer. The lamb wasn't drenched in sauce, and made for good finger food while I walked. The meal came with a side salad (not so great finger food). The total was 4.60 GBP. If I had gotten a proper meal instead of just an appetizer and a nan (somewhere between 4-8 GBP for main dishes, a couple more GBP for the rice, if memory serves), then I would have definitely been in the ££ range. The place isn't far away from the South Gosforth Metro station. The nan is amazing, the appetizer was unremarkable, but I'd go back to try a main course dish, any time!
