Entering, the place is nice... simple counter service location with seating both inside and out, though the outside seating is pretty close to Archer Road, so not that great. Too much noise from the road to really be enjoyable, sadly. I went for a slider with fries... just wanted to get a taste and not eat too much. The heat level was fair, and for the most part the sandwich was tasty. The fries were also good crinkle cuts. The only complaint I have was that the sandwich could have used some more coleslaw. This is a small national chain, so I do expect quality and customer service to be on par with the rest of the chains, and that is what I got. The product is fair, but nothing really excellent about it. I know of locally owned places that I would rather go to, but I suppose that if I were running around on Archer road and had a hankering for a hot chicken sandwich like this I would be inclined to return.

I can't tell you the exact year when I finally decided to actually TRY the Burger Barn. I honestly…read moreput it off for years, thinking to myself... yeah, sure they're good. It's the only burger place around here! Years have passed, and competition has moved into town... and yet? I'd rather go here for my hamburger crave than anywhere else around. Why? They've never compromised on how they make, wrap or deliver their delicious burgers to you out the window. They are just as delicious today as they were 20-odd years ago when I first tried them and got hooked! How does someplace maintain this? Good management and ownership. Not compromising on quality, ingredients or changing how it has always been done and done right. The same burger I bought from there over 20 years ago is the same delicious burger I buy today. Sure, the prices have gone up, but they have to in order to pay upkeep of your premises, taxes, your staff and the suppliers of everything you have to have in order to run your business. I still remember someone complaining about how much it was for a burger there when they first raised their prices to at least be somewhat competitive with the "Arches" down the street. Look. You can go down there and buy something that someone flipped around, pre-processed somewhat filled with questionable meat or soy protein, loaded with msg and salt, who knows where it all was already made and pre-cooked before it even got there... I've seen the process from start to finish at our Burger Barn. They cook your burger fresh once you order it. If it were made already, it'd be ready for pickup at the window when you pull up to order... sounds like someplace you know? I've got the patience for something fresh, something consistently good and priced a lot cheaper than down the street, considering you're getting so much better quality! So you do you and go wherever you like... me? I'll stick with the best burger in town that's oh so good from the first bite to the very last bit. I thought about that, looking at the bite I had at the end with still plenty of creamy cheese, tons of meat and a few delicious pieces of pickles, onions, lettuce and even a sliver of tomato worked into it! Good to the absolute last bite. It's amazing to me that no one realizes how lucky we are that we have a family owned and mostly run business right here serving quality to our community for how many years now? Anyone know? I'll have to ask them. The window servers may change but the food is always the same goodness it always is. Thank you guys for maintaining your place in our town!!

I ordered a single cheeseburger, small fry and a root beer. Wish they offered a combo of some sort as it was $13. The root beer was my pull to come here (obviously!) and I had such high hopes. Unfortunately it was flat and tasted watered down. It came straight out the tap and my mouth was watering waiting for it. Just didn't taste good, maybe my expectations were too high. The cheeseburger was the size of a McDonald's cheeseburger. It wasn't horrible but I was expecting something to sink my teeth into. It was just simply "ok". The French fries were the highlight. Hit, crispy, yummy. That's the best part of the meal. The atmosphere is like a diner and I was met with a very nice young man who greeted me and pleasant. The service was quick. They had Christmas music playing and I was about to read a book while enjoying my meal as I as the only one there but shortly after I sat down a guy came in and chatted away on his cellphone which was on speaker (no etiquette dude!). I don't feel the price tag matches the meal I ate. But kudos to the hospitality!

Not sure I have ever seen an adult working, but these "kids" know what they are doing and provide great service. The food is good. I have had burgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese, fries, onion rings and tots. I have to say that I am not a fan of the root beer. I like root beer and don't claim to be a connoisseur, but know that in-house recipes can sometimes be a bit different than the traditional canned sodas. Also, the onion rings are good, but I am a value seeker and can get a hamburger or other entree with meat for $2-$3 less. Paige's has now become one of our Dunnellon stops when in the area.

But, beyond the expected hamburgers and a great selection of shakes, they have chicken 'n' waffles, fried shrimp, and other dishes. Everything is indeed fast food yet at the same time tastes homemade. My shrimp were good though a bit too salty for my liking, the waffle fries fine, the bread roll (really? not hushpuppies?) ok if weird to me to include in a seafood basket. Their house MotLee's Sauce is certainly the sauce to ask for, by the way. All in all, a good, economical choice for fast food plus to support something local and unique.
