Taquiza Sinaloense immediately caught my husband's eye, and he ordered a soft taco with chorizo and potato. It was delicious! I wanted to walk around the entire place before ordering more food from Taquiza Sinaloense. There was a really nice lady there who told us that their food is the best, and she said she knew we'd be back. She was right! Although other booths had appetizing food, it just didn't compare. Their presentation was beautiful! We each ordered a plate, which included rice, beans, and our choice of two items. The guy who helped us was so nice and let me sample a few items before I made my decision. My husband ordered chile verde and beef. I ordered chipotle chicken and this amazing mixture of chiles, corn, and cheese. OMG! It was incredibly delicious! Each plate was $14, which is a great price since we both had leftovers. We will definitely go back. I will try to order food from different vendors next time. If you decide to check this place out, make sure to try Taquiza Sinaloense! You won't be sorry!

Visitors are greeted by colorful and festive lights as soon as they approach the entrance. There's plenty of security, some armed that watch over the crowd. Staff in yellow jackets will direct visitors. Overall, it's pretty well organized and a friendly group. The main attraction is the light show that takes place every 1/2 hour. This year (2019) the story was about Jesus accompanied by music and synchronized light show. It's pretty good. Next to the light show is set up like a little village. One tent allows kids to do crafts. Others have hot cider or cocoa. Members are dressed in biblical characters and offer to tell stories of God. There's also a sign that points to the Cafe. It's essentially a carnival style trailer that sells drinks and snacks with a limited menu. This year, there are also tables set up that sold everything from cupcakes to skewers. We tried their chicken and bbq pork skewers, and they were all good at an amazing price. Sadly, I overheard someone say this is their last year. There are donation boxes placed throughout, as well as garbage bins. So be generous and responsible, make a nice donation and don't litter. There are even staff members that bring photo lights and offer to help you take family pictures. The Lights on Miracle Hill is a great way to spend an evening if you're not driving too far. Need to know: You'll need to park in the surrounding neighborhood. There is no public parking lot. There are no valets. You'll just have to drive around and look for a spot. You may get lucky, or if you aren't lazy, go farther than where others aren't willing to go. Homeowners's driveways are marked by cones. So obey them and don't block anyone's path. FREE FREE! Had this Christmas light show bookmarked for the longest and finally made it out today…read more Winter wonderland is how I would describe it. The show starts 10 minutes from the actual time they announce online. Giving people who are running late, some leeway. The music, songs and the church itself is breathtaking. If you come early enough, you can grab a seat, otherwise your standing but honestly there are no bad seats/standing area. At the end of the show, there are volunteers that will take pics for you & even hold hand held lights up to give you the perfect selfie/pic. It does get packed, so come early to find parking. Also, reserve free tickets online 1st, there were two lines, one with tickets, one without, the one without was long. They also sell food, balloon lights, drinks, hot chocolate and areas for kid activities. Can't wait to come back next year and make this a yearly tradition. P.S. also, a lot of the homes put cones on the sidewalks to block people from parking right in front of their house. They can't do that, its public right of way, so just move the cone and park.

This place totally exceeded my expectations! The Cal Poly Pumpkin Festival is huge - way bigger…read morethan I thought it would be. There's something for everyone: a giant pumpkin patch, gorgeous sunflower fields, a fun petting farm, and tons of great food and activities. The sunflower fields were one of my favorite part -- absolutely beautiful and perfect for photos. The petting farm was such a cute touch too (the sheep definitely stole the show). You can tell the students really put their heart into making the whole event feel welcoming and organized. We also stopped by the Farm Store on our way out and stocked up on fresh produce, wine (they grow their own grapes!), and some amazing pumpkin bread.

Attended CCP Pumpkin patch festival this year and had a good experience on the day of my visit…read more Upon entering the main entrance, there were signs for the Pumpkin patch/Corn maze/ Petting zoo/ Sunflower area, and a scheduled list of small business vendors participating in the CCP vegetable garden. Got there when the event first open, crowd was too massive and was able to take some really great pictures in the Pumpkin area. The petting zoo was really fun- Goats and herds of sheep were walking around the petting area awaiting to be fed (really liked the cleaning station near the exit for easy hand washing), animals were really mellow- which created a fun environment for kids. Agreed with some reviews; the entrance fee is a bit pricey, though I did enjoy this festival

Attended the 2025 Brea summer fest today and I will say I was a little disappointed…read more It's promoted as a large festival but it was actually quite small. There are 2 different types of tickets needed, ones for the rides and the others for the booths and food/drinks. There were a few rides and carnival games, and there were little to no lines at the time we went. The food and drink booths had nothing special or exciting to offer, so we ended up empty handed, and heading over to 7-11 for some slurpees since it was so hot and humid. Overall an ok experience but I don't think the 3 of us are too interested in returning next year.

There was security at the front which is reassuring. This is the ideal place for families. There were plenty of rides and games to keep the kids occupied. All I saw were preteens at the rides section. For the adults, there is a beer garden and a separate wine area. There was a stage with live music. There were food variety: American, Filipino, Italian and Mexican. For me, there were not enough vendors (merch/goods). There was one vendor to the left that sold unique items, a jewelry vendor and a photographer. Next to the photographer booth was a cake walk - which I've never heard of. Unless you were in the beer or wine garden, there was no shade. I can confidently say, I will not return.

We were able to find free street parking and as long as you're okay with walking a block or two, parking is easy to find. Just a word of the wise not to go into the neighborhoods as it's super tight and fisted parking. It's a fun community event with lots of volunteers and community sponsors. I think it was only around $5 for activities for children like the sledding, petting zoo, and very small pirate ride, but there's lots of free fun things for kids provided through the Children's Museum and other various community partners. Some pretty cool sponsors were T-mobile, State Farm, Toyota, The Spongebob Movie (neat!), PBS, and much more. Lots and lots of seating available. One in a well lit lot next to the Port-a-Potties and another in front of the performance stage. It does get cold once the sun goes down and there's a lot of working so definitely dress for comfort. There's a couple vendors with merchant crafted goods like decorated tupperware, quilts, and other things like toys or clothing. The city is also selling merchandise for the festival and it's centennial celebration. Friends and I got pumpkin, sweet corn, and beef tamales from the vendor that had the longest (yet most efficient line) and the most trophies. All of which were delicious and can easily be seen why they're turbo winners as well as Randy's Spammy (I've missed every single Asayoru collab they had so seeing them here was a real treat). Great place to hang out and kill a couple hours.

I'd pass on the churro cheesecake tamale next time. Very well priced with a drink, at about $27 total. La Reyna Tapatia Events - 4/5, the Hot Cheetos esquites are easily 100/5 so dang delicious! But the pupusa wasn't what I was expecting. It was super flat and didn't feel like it had much filling. Both items cost $25 total which felt a little too expensive for what I got.

Because we chose to be cooped up in the AC during the hot day, we really wanted to be outside, so this was a good opportunity and it was a free activity before we could decide on what to do next. Before we even approached Birch St. we noticed the large amount of foot traffic in the area. Birch was closed and obstructed with a stage and the restaurants across the street has lines out the door. It was pretty damn crowded. For parking, we avoided the adjacent parking structure all together. You can tell that was the first place people attempted, but we just circled the nearby Ralph's shopping center lot since you were allowed to park there. After about 5-minutes, we easily found a spot, and less than a 5-minute walk, we were already there. The festival itself has a shopping village with local vendors, a beer garden and of course music. Though the event skewed a little older at night, it was cool to see so many people out and and about. When the music was playing, there were lots of people on their feet dancing and laughing, and if you just wanted to sit and enjoy the spectacles, they had plenty of seats put up for you to rest your keister. Though we didn't purchase anything from the vendors, we did stop by a lot of the restaurants in the area to see what they had. Our biggest score of the night was stumbling upon Merely Sweets. We bought some cupcakes, propped up and watched the festivities. The festival goes on every weekend until the end of September. Even if you're not into jazz, it's cool to stroll and see what Brea has to offer. I think it's great for the community and gets you out of the house for a night!

Hooray for another new free con at Frank's…read more Cosplay Con was CROWDED. They had to have a shuttle service and everything. Loads of people coming from every which was just to meet Stan Lee. While I was taking a break, catching up on "Saga," a woman sat down next to me and we started chatting. Apparently she'd driven down from Seattle for this. I was astonished. Though Uncle Stan's health and recent canceled appearances might have been a factor, it's amazing that these free little cons aren't just attended by the locals anymore. Anyway, I had a lot of fun and all the cosplayers who came were great. Other than a costume contest near the end of the day, there wasn't really any programming, so you were either there for signatures (Stan, J. Scott Campbell, Rob Liefeld, etc) or you were just checking out what people were wearing. There were several known cosplayers and groups there with booths: the 501st, Mandalorians, Avengers Initiative, Ivy Doomkitty, Krystal Method, and so on. People were dressed as all sorts of things: superheroes, stormtroopers, Walt from "Breaking Bad," a female Daryl from "Walking Dead," Stay Stuft with the 10th Doctor in tow, and members of KISS among other things. Great job putting this together, guys. Keep it up!

On Tuesday we enjoyed a day at this pumpkin patch with the family…read more Ladies, no entrance fee. That is a bonus in itself. Young girl sitting at front was trying to explain their ticket program but I couldn't understand a word she was saying. We saw someone with a band on their wrist so we bought the Jack pass. Unlimited playing on all rides until tired. Then we passed a painting booth with tables. What a deal. $10 kids got a pumpkin and paints, stickers, crystals, and craft items to decorate their pumpkin. A woman named JoAnn sat with the kids and helped entertain and control them while my hubby and I sat on another table. Only thing missing was a glass of wine or beer for my old man. We loved it so much we asked JoAnn to come live with us and be our Nanny. Great 3-hour family day without breaking the bank. Promise it won't disappoint!
