Very disappointing experience. I do NOT recommend this circus, especially for families with children. I attended with young kids expecting a fun, family-friendly show, but it was completely inappropriate for minors. While the acrobats are clearly talented and skilled, the costumes worn by some of the female performers were extremely revealing -- basically resembling underwear. There were multiple performances with wide leg movements and positions that exposed far more than what children should be seeing. This is not something kids should be exposed to, and there was absolutely no warning about this type of content. Because of this, we ended up leaving halfway through the show. On top of that, the performance itself was boring and not engaging. It definitely did not feel worth the high ticket prices. To make matters worse, the person who sold us the tickets had a rude attitude, and the overall customer service was not welcoming at all. Zero recommendation from me. Completely disappointed and honestly upset that I brought children to what was supposed to be a family event. read more

I hadn't been to Circus Vargas in about 30 years, and visiting again brought back so many wonderful memories of when my parents used to take my siblings and me. The entertainment was fantastic full of fun, laughs, and excitement. It was a much-needed dose of joy! One area for improvement would be the staff selling snacks and food. They seemed a bit dry and unenthusiastic, as if they were just going through the motions. A bit more energy and friendliness would really enhance the overall experience. We had a great time. I took my 8yo and we both had a blast. The event was full of acrobats, clowns, tight-rope walkers, lights, music, and of course, motorcycles in a tiny ball (which was wild!). Great event to take your family too - everyone will have a good time. I don't know who said it wasn't family-friendly, as there were tons of kids an no issues. As for the outfits, if you have issues with ice skating costumes, then yes, you may not love these. But everyone is certainly dressed appropriately and to the theme. We bought the cheapest tickets but probably would have bought something a bit more central. You can be high, but I'd aim for the center of the seating. Circus Vargus has been my family's annual tradition for 14 years now. They always put on an outstanding show and this year was just as amazing as the others. On top of the show, everyone there is incredibly kind. We always get "the picture" the one in the Circus Vargus sleeve. This year we got there right before the show started and weren't able to do the pic. After the show I was trying to at least just buy a picture sleeve so we could put our own pic in there but they went and got the camera, brought us back in the arena and took the picture to make sure our tradition continued. It was our girls' (2 and 5yo) first visit to circus and it was amazing!! I was honestly just as entertained as my kids! They were truly skilled professionals and the acts kept us on the edge of our seats. The contortionist was absolutely stunning and graceful. Some of the humor in the comedy skits isn't intended for kids but it was very brief so we didn't mind. The tickets and food prices were very reasonable. Would highly recommend! To the people who complained about the it being hot inside the tent, yes it was humid and a bit warm but they did have fans blowing. At the end of the day, it's a tent. If you're expecting a comfortable 68 degrees when the temperature is 100+ degrees outside (something they can't control), then you're better off going to a cirque du soleil and expect a much higher price point with less talent. read more

First off VIP seats are NOT needed. We expected a better view or participation but neither happened . The arena is so small that any seat will be fine. This is more of a musical versus a traditional circus such as Cirque DE Soleil or Ringling Brothers which are far more better. The show plays for 35 minutes then a 20 minute intermission followed by 45 more minutes. The so called clown does all of his antics in the levels behind VIP so you can't even see him unless you turn completey around. We were about to leave after interbut decided to see if it would get better and it didnt. I am surprised of the 5 star reviews due to the lack of entertainment and running time. We would never return to see this it was a huge waste of money. Went to the Roseville show at 12 noon and it was half empty.. My family saw a Circus Vargas performance last night in Mission Valley, and we came away awestruck and extremely impressed. The ringmaster sung the most impressive National Anthem I had heard in years. In addition, the clown, a young man from Italy, was the perfect foil for the ringmaster and the amazing saxophone player. I would refer to them by name, but the sound quality when their names were spoken was not optimal. Overall, the vibe was one of great audience, participation, intimacy, and friendly banter. AMAZING SHOW! We saw Circus Vargas in Lakewood back in Nov/2022 and just saw them again tonight in Downey. I was worried it would be the same show, but it actually had a couple of new acts! Amazing talent, funny, and entertaining for the whole family. Definitely worth EVERY penny. They also have Johnathan Iverson Lee as their Ringmaster--that should tell you something about the quality of the show. I've seen other "traveling circus" shows, but this one is definitely the best. If I could give a zero I would. It's not family friendly the main conductor is a short guy with a weird hairstyle that was twerking and doing some odd things which are not appropriate for children. As well the same weird guy did an acting portion with 3 audience members that had some ideas of cheating,killing and that kind of stuff. Also they sent my family and I four "free" tickets and when we got there they made us pay for each ticket. They also said online and on the phone there were no seats but when we went there with at least 50 seats open.I went 4 years before this time it was good but the acts and the general show downgraded greatly. Cool tricks and lots of talent. But, sometimes, the girls were wearing inappropriate clothes (thongs), and their butts were totally exposed. There were small "raunchy" parts that bothered me. There was a guy that "entertained" the crowd in between the performances, and he was inappropriate... dancing grossly etc. I wouldn't go again. This show is not family friendly. I was blown away by how amazing the people were. You think our circus is corny, but no they were amazing.

Went on a Monday, was in the area and we decided it was a nice way to spend the evening. Found it by chance. The production value was high, it felt like the crowd wasn't full enough for the quality they were giving out, but it was a Monday so hopefully they sell out weekends because its worthy of being sold out. There was many thrilling stunts and great acts, but our favorite was the first; the strongman was doing a rope acrobatic to a Greatest Showman song and it was an impressive combo of strength and grace. Many acts had grace, others had strength, but his routine had both. Majority of them are doing stunts that are life risking, support them by showing up. It'll be worth it! read more

This was our third year going to the circus and it will probably be our last. This year, there were no acrobats or flying trapeze. It was like they shortened the whole circus but didn't change the prices. Really bizarre because I haven't heard anyone else complain about it but I'm not sure why anyone would pay $75 a ticket to have them skip the reason why people go to the circus. The performers/performances were very entertaining; keeping the kids engaged and delighted. This was a fun circus! Haven't been to one in a while, last time they had animals. 3 of my 4 kids had a blast! My 8 and 10 year olds loved it and thought it was the best ever. My 5 year old felt it was too loud to enjoy (seat positions matter in this regard) but enjoyed the popcorn, cotton candy, and lighted toys. My 3 year old enjoyed it as much as possible as a 3 year old. Ended up saying it was fun even though there was plenty of times I had to get up. I personally thought it was good entertainment and something to remember as a family (good or bad). I appreciated the lower cost seats I purchased though the speakers were close. The acrobats do everything- taking pics which you can get a copy of in a cute paper frame for ten bucks, socialize with the crowd, etc. All in addition to the stunts which are amazing! My wife and I saw the show in Escondido tonight and we can't say enough about this amazing group of performers!! So talented and personable, the show was amazing!! The effort and work that goes into the training, setup and performance of this show is Herculean and it shows in the product! Such a great cast of characters and wonderful flow to the performance! The clowns were engaging and funny, with some great bits. The acrobatics were beyond impressive. And who doesn't love the motorcycle cage of death! My wife and I love circuses. We have seen most of the Cirque shows and this show was definitely worth going to! The performers do a little meet and greet after the show and they were all friendly and engaging, especially Patrick who my wife and I both thought did an extra amazing job in the show! These artists are all phenomenal at their jobs and getting to interact with them was a delight.
