Every employee of every shift are familiar with me and we share friendly small convos everyday. However, there is one new Manager (Vanessa) who has often given rude interactions countless time...to name a few: eating chips and passing bags through the window with "chip dust" on her hands, talking on the phone, or having personal conversations with other coworkers without actually acknowledging the customer who is in her presence. This evening, I was having a small convo with another employee who was working the window about selfies after showing my ID in which he viewed (although he was familiar with me). I went on to tell him how I continue to show it because his coworker (Vanessa) was previously rude with me about it once before when I left my ID in the car (even after I went to get it). She then proceeds to butt into "our" conversation without being spoken too, talking loudly from the other side of the gas station with a sucker in her mouth. We continued to go back in forth, as I simply pressed the importance of customer service in the work place. With her being a manager, you would assume she would know better. Needless to say, I will never give another penny to this store not because of the other great customer service I've received over the years, but because of her crappy attitude. I've already reached out to corporate about her service, and plan on having camera footage reviewed after this incident. My only advice is if you hate your job, or if you don't enjoy working at your place of employment then it's probably best to find another gig...preferably one that doesn't align with the customer service industry. :-)

While 14th Street is the main thoroughfare in this neighborhood, this business has a Center Street address. The attached convenience store is known as Center Street Food Mart. The gas station is compact with only six pumps. They've got the fairly new ExxonMobil Synergy branding on them. ExxonMobil launched its Synergy suite of fuels in 2016 to compete with brands like Shell V-Power. These premium gasoline brands are supposed to provide benefits like better gas mileage, lower emissions, improved engine protection, and better performance. That's how they're advertised and marketed, at least. I've never experienced this myself or if I have, I haven't noticed. My Volkswagen, which is 20+ years old and has over 260,000 miles on it, has consumed mostly QuikTrip premium unleaded over its lifetime. I still use the car as my daily driver and the original engine still runs great. QuikTrip uses Top Tier gasoline and so does ExxonMobil. I think ExxonMobile uses more additives and other things. I don't think this gas station has the cheapest gas in the vicinity, but the prices aren't unreasonable. The pumps are clean and the entire property feels tidy and safe. It's just small (which isn't a bad thing) and that includes the corner store. I used pump #6 and it was in very good condition. A video played while I pumped and my receipt printed out clearly. There were plenty of good-quality paper towels (better than QT quality) in the dispenser attached to the trash can. The trash can had a fresh, unused bag in it. This station serves the common three grades of unleaded + diesel.

The gas station itself is very small on the interior, but has lots of snacks and drinks. They even have individually wrapped slices of various cakes, I got a slice of pound cake to try. They seemed to have every sweet imaginable, packed into compact shelves. The employee behind the counter was very friendly. The restrooms were very clean as well, and even had a handicap door opening system from the inside. Overall, this is a phenomenal gas station.
