So I ran in, went to the t-shirt section, and luckily they had one left in my size. While the cashier was ringing my purchase up, I took a look around, and thought I have to come back here before we leave to go home tomorrow. They had so many interesting cute souvenir items, and the prices seemed reasonable for a resort town. I was in and out within 5 minutes. But in that five minutes I could see that anything you could possible want that says Durango, or Colorado, or both is in this store. By the time we got back from our excursion the store was closed, and I was disappointed, because we had to leave early in the morning. I didn't have a chance to get anything except my t-shirt. :( I will have to plan a trip for next fall when the leaves are changing. Such a beautiful time to visit Durango. Make sure you bring extra dough though as this town is expensive.

I was vacationing with my family last week in Durango, and we happened upon this store while…read moreshopping in the downtown area. All three of my sisters and I made purchases, including souvenirs, and I bought a pair of sunglasses that I liked. Unfortunately, after wearing the sunglasses for a while the next day, I found that they pinched the sides of my head and gave me a headache -- something I could not have discovered by simply trying them on for a minute or two in the shop. When we returned to the downtown for more shopping a few days later, I brought the sunglasses back into the store and requested a refund. Note: my mistake for not asking about the return policy prior to purchase, hence my two-star rating (not one). The cashier (could have been the shop owner) refused my refund because she claimed the glasses were scratched. If there are scratches, they are microscopic and probably were there when I bought them, because I kept the glasses in my own hard-cover sunglasses case from the moment I removed them from my face on the day I wore them until the moment I returned to the store -- but honestly I don't see any scratches on these glasses. She went on to say, "I don't even think Walmart would [accept the return]," which I found both rude and puzzling. Is she comparing her store with Walmart? Wouldn't she rather compare herself with Nordstrom, where essentially I could return a pair of sunglasses broken in two pieces and they would accept the return? Or a quaint boutique where the shop keeper strives to please her customers, particularly female travelers who are prepared to spend money on souvenirs for themselves and their kids, and with whom you only get one chance to make a good impression with stellar customer service? (Consider that when we returned with my Mom to shop the downtown a second time, I steered her away from this shop and we shopped elsewhere, where my Mom spent a bunch of money buying clothes and souvenirs for her daughters and grandkids.) In any case, I certainly didn't get the feeling that she thinks of her shop as a place where the shop keeper creates a personal and memorable connection with guests -- which is the whole point of my family and I shopping in a downtown boutique. If I wanted to buy glasses at Walmart, I would have gone there. It's unfortunate that I can't recommend this shop to anyone shopping in Durango.

Shout out to Wyatt! He is SO knowledgeable and SO helpful. He knew EVERYTHING there is to know about shoes, feet, and recommending the right shoes for your needs. He helped us so much. I'm so excited for my new Chacos slippahs (flip flops) - they have serious arch support! He said they were top rated and I can feel it. I need arch support and my Vionics died way too fast, so looking forward to these. I've had a regular pair of Chacos that I love and lasted for years and never knew they had slip on options. We also got my husband some work shoes which he said feel amazing, both comfortable and affordable. Brooks and Hoka. He spends all day on his feet so needs something that helps his feet and back. Wyatt was wearing the Brooks and said they are his second pair.

One has to drive a great distance to be able to look at clothing fabric. The fabrics are quite beautiful, but not suitable for what I needed, making a dress. I also found the fabrics to be very costly. However, it may be that they are of such high-quality rhey are worth it. I can't say anything about the fabrics themselves fir sewability because I did not make a purchase. The staff did everything they could to help me try to find something that I could use. They were patient and very polite and helpful.
