Not quite ready for that lifestyle yet. What I can say is that everyone was very friendly, the building was beautiful and very clean. What I did not like was that the outside area was very cramped and claustrophobic to me. Besides the Assisted Living building there were rows of apartment buildings for seniors. Just too much in a small space. If I needed to live in an Assisted Living place I would check this one out (although they did say it was full) Once inside, I liked it very much.

My father has been living at Aston Gardens in Sun City Center for 6 or 7 years now. When he first…read moremoved, he was not keen on the idea and you might say we dragged him there kicking and screaming. Now he calls me up all the time to tell me how much he loves living there and how glad he is that I found him such a nice place! Aston Gardens is a Senior Independent Living Community. There are many singles but also couples. Apartments range in size from 687 sq ft apartment with one bedroom and 1 bath, to 1525 sq ft 2 bedroom 2 bath with formal dining room and a den. All apartments have a full kitchen, laundry, storage unit, and a porch. My dad chose a two bedroom unit with 1.5 baths which was perfect for him. He has enough room, but it is not too big for him either. He has one room set up as an exercise room / office, and uses the smaller bedroom for sleeping. It is a nice bright upscale apartment with a screened in porch. When my Dad first moved in he was able to still drive his golf cart and there are parking spaces where you can plug in and keep your golf cart covered for a reasonable monthly fee. In case you are not familiar with Sun City Center Florida, they have special lanes all over town just for golf carts. You can get around town with just a golf cart, so seniors can have more independence without having to drive a car. Golf carts do not require a license to drive and they also do not require the expense of insurance. Besides the apartment at Aston Gardens, your rent includes housekeeping once a week. They also change your sheets and wash your towels. Aston Gardens provides meals for residents that are also included in the rent and available in the dining room. We were invited to have lunch and dinner with a few residents to try it out. At the time my father moved in they were offering a special of one month free. Do not be afraid to negotiate on price or moving expenses! One of the things I liked about Aston Gardens is that he had buttons and pull cords in his apartment in case he needed help. Also he had to check in once a day or they would check on him! The rent includes rides if needed and there are many activities to choose from. The complex is on beautiful grounds that look more like a resort than a retirement community. The grounds are surrounded by a golf course and include an outdoor swimming pool. If you find that you need extra help you can get it in your apartment. So far my Dad does not need it, but it is nice to know it is there. He does take advantage of the barber shop and sometimes he needs help with writing something out to send in the mail. Extra help in a residents apartment is an extra expense, but the staff at Aston Gardens can help you arrange it. I am so glad that we found Aston Gardens for my Dad. Don't rent here! We've rented here for the past two years. There was a recent change in management,…read moreand everything went down hill! 1st notice informed us that there was a change, and how to get ahold of someone if there an emergency. It clearly called out that a broken air conditioner is Not an emergency and will need to wait until Mondays- Fridays during business hours. If we want to report an issue, don't call, we only want to hear from you in email. I'm going to take an educated guess that they started to rent to section 8 housing... our old neighbors that lasted a month bragged about how they've been placed in 8 rental units in the past year. Newer tenants do not pick up after their dogs. I would be glad to show picture after picture. The manager only sent an email out asking to please pick up are your pet, but stated they'll charge a fee if you leave trash out or evict you if you have your dog off the leash. All my neighbors and I have reported the owners, and they responded, "we've asked them to clean up after their dog." We have two Toyota Tundra Extended cab trucks and were given a notice to fit both in the garage or they'll tow one. We explained we were told differently when we moved in, because you cannot fit two of our trucks in the garage, and got a response that the old manager didn't have the legal right to allow that. The gardeners do not prune or weed hedges, we are asked to do it ourselves. Again, I have pictures. We just got a letter today saying we cannot grill on our patios. If they are not removed in a day, they will remove them. The pools are not well maintained, and have no furniture to enjoy the area. The docks are cracked and falling apart. No one has Ever maintained them. Every week there's something new. They demand, limit use of amenities, threaten, threaten, threaten, take away privileges, and don't do anything for their tenants. They slapped ugly colors on the buildings and call it improvements, as reasoning to bump the rent $180 per month more. They've also gone to month to month, rather than leasing. It's really, really unfortunate, because this property was one a little slice of heaven. It's just funny how a place can go downhill in just a few months due to a small change. Keith, please take a poll of your current residence to see how happy we are. I think you'll be surprised with how many are looking to leave. I know many of them.

I was a tenant that resided in the complex for about three years, and overtime the wear and tear on the units becomes utterly concerning. Maintenance is not well kept here, so save your coins because the rent isn't worth the hassle. My unit in particular had multiple leaks, and cracks in the unit. Infrastructure is not up to code. After opening a maintenance request no one came to treat the area for mold or mildew, nor did they advise me of any updates regarding the leak. I contacted the leasing office on multiple occasions regarding the health and safety concerns and also the discomfort I was feeling as I couldn't live normally in my unit. When it rained outside, it rained in my living room. Needless to say weeks, yes, weeks plural, went by before a "resolution" was solved. Now I quote resolution because my living space was still compromised and not treated for mold or mildew. Although management claimed they fixed the leak after I escalated the issue, no one made me aware of the alleged fix. The lack of communication and negligence from management led me to ultimately making the decision to move out. It was a horrible experience and I would not recommend with how they handled my situation.
