After switching to Bank of America Santander somehow kept my checking account open with a -amount they sent to the rogue company. My account is fairly new only about a month old and the idiot banking manager who opened the account gave me the wrong routing number! I had just started my new job and gave them all my banking information and when it was time to get paid guess who didn't get paid. And on top of that the same day I was supposed to get paid my car note was also due. Santander charge me and my account was overdrawn. I had to wait an additional week just to get paid again and they took half of my paycheck. I called customer support and explain the situation and the best the supervisor told me is they can only pay me back $30 and give the banking manager training...... Like what the hell is that going to do for my bills! Why should I have to suffer because of the negligence of this idiot! I am so pissed I am shutting down my account ASAP. Eastern Bank is one of the few local banks you have to choose from in Boston, and you should. If you're still putting your money in Bank of America or Citizens you are either a FOOL or a greedy capitalism who doesn't care if your money is improving your community and the world. If it's the former, go ahead and make the switch. If it's the latter, carry on. I just probably don't want to know you personally.

These were not errors on our end--the issue occurred during the bank's handling of the deposits. Regardless of the cause, customers should not be held financially responsible for internal processing failures. As a church, we require a financial institution that processes deposits accurately and takes responsibility when errors occur. Based on these repeated incidents, we have remove our personal funds and moved our church accounts to a more reliable and accountable bank. We expected a higher standard of service and accountability

There is a good sized parking lot in the back of the building so parking is never a problem here. There is a even a restroom here which I don't often see at banks and it is a great convenience to have. They were quick to help me set up what I needed, informative of my options, and understanding of my situation. While there I also saw compassion as another male employee filled up a dog bowl for a thirsty dog outside and compassion for parents who were worried that their child with special needs who couldn't control their volume was not in any way an issue.
