Citrus County Central Landfill is a nice clean dump that you can go to with your garbage and materials you want to get rid of. Besides household garbage they accept yard waste, batteries, motor oil and used filters, furniture, used tires, fluorescent light bulbs, used cooking oil, anti-freeze, freon units and electronics. They offer a residential self-haul advance disposal program in which the customer pays so much a year and they are allowed to bring once a week up to eight 30 gallon bags of household garbage to the landfill! This is a deal and they offer a senior discount to boot! What a bonus! Great for people who are on a fixed income and have some time on their hands to save money! I've used a number of times they have been very helpful and I usually paid less than expected

Pretty well organized and reasonably fast despite fairly heavy traffic (Saturday morning).

Went in and bought a landfill pass and lady at front desk very helpful. Only bad thing I would say was she appeared to have some micro manager supervisor watching every move she was making and making sure he was listening to every word that was being said. I felt sorry for her. Other than that strange man who clearly doesn't trust his employee, dump people are very helpful and the dump is very efficient in how they run their show! read more

Smooth and efficient System to get you weighed ; in and out. Just ask for their brochure that breaks down garbage and recycling by type. Scale going in and another scale going out. The last place I lived had one scale. You had to wait to get in or out depending on traffic. This place is the most efficient center I have been to. read more

Hours are listed to 5:00, however we arrived at 4:27 and were charged $1.50 for each minute after 4:40 in addition to the normal weight cost. read more
