This Barber Shop was amazing! I normally get a haircut an hour from Las Cruces, but I didn't feel like the gas was worth it. So I decided to try a new place! I tried City Barber Shop as my decision The original barber shop look isn't fake. Apparently this place was opened in the 50's. I really appreciated the look and feel of this barber shop. I felt right at home! Next is the customer Service and haircut. My Barber (I didn't get her name), was very kind and relatable. We spent the whole haircut talking about whatever! From past jobs, to school experiences, to nervous ticks! They were very kind and I felt very comfortable talking with them. I first came to city barber shop half a year ago as my regular stylist for years moved. I was hopping to find someone who could do just as amazing a job and I found Deisi. She is amazing with my thinner hair and really knows how to give a man a good cut and takes care of my beard like the professional she is. I will be coming back here for as long as I need cuts. If I could give half a star I would. I remember coming hear about 6 years ago and the fades were really nice. This time around they left no hair on my sides or on the back of my head. I asked for a low skin fade and left with a buzz cut DO NOT GO TO NEDRA. Fair warning, she doesn't know what a fade is. There were literally times at the beginning of the haircut where I almost asked her to stop so that I could just leave. Such a nightmare. read more

Walked in and sat down, happened to be right next to Anthony, who took me right away. I don't like fades and was initially concerned whether he could do a classic gentleman's trim and a beard trim but he knocked it out of the park! Excellent job, very thorough with super attention to detail. Gave me a look in the mirror several times to make sure things were looking the way I wanted. Other than that, price was very reasonable, good conversation and I like the sports theme in the place which is authentic unlike a chain like sport clips. 10/10 will be going back to Anthony and definitely recommend City Barber! read more

I just recently spent a couple of weeks in New Mexico and so glad I found this place. Quite simply the best barber shop I have ever been in. To be able to get a great haircut and beard trim while talking baseball was awesome. Zack was my barber and he was great, thanks Zack for all your recommendations. Stuck up employees and price gouging. For some reason, I decided to bypass my usual place and went to this barbershop to check them out. I went in for a head shave and a beard trim which I would normally pay $8-12 dollars at the barbershop that is now where the old driving school used to be. Not this place. They tried to charge me $22 to just shave my head which took 3 min. I told them I was a little short on cash, it being the day before payday, and thinking the price wouldn't be this ridiculous if it was going to be that much and to disregard the beard trim. The medium-heavy built man with glasses man told me not to worry about it and told me I could leave. I showed up the very next day with payment in hand plus tip and to finish the job and was told to "not worry about it" over and over till I left the store while being very rude and unprofessional. read more

I've been getting my hair cut here for 6 or 7 years. Never had a bad haircut. Good guys and good barbers.

My hair looks like a child cut it. I have a chunk of hair missing where the guy messed up with the clippers. I've been here three times and the first time was decent. The last two times they weren't friendly and the guy that cut my hair did it really fast and made mistakes. After getting it cut yesterday there is a big chunk taken out at the corner of my forehead where he slipped with the clippers. He also nicked both of my ears. Awesome barber shop! Been coming here every week for almost 15 years now and it's always been great. Every barber gives good haircuts and generally good conversation. The prices are a little steep but you get what you pay for. If you just want a quick $7 dollar haircut that doesn't come out all that great then feel free to find your place. But if you want a quality haircut from some of the best barbers in town then pay the little extra and you won't be disappointed.
