This is smaller multi-generational congregation that feels like a family. An unapologetically progressive and welcoming family, mind you, but a family nonetheless. Pastor Heidi it thoughtful, personable and you can tell is loved by and loves this group of folks who gather together. This church oh so reminds me of the church of my youth, filled with people who yearn for the church to be relevant and energized. Also check out the many community programs that they offer out of their GORGEOUS facility. I was able to spend worship with them and it is a pretty standard traditional service with meaningful prayers a wonderful energy about them. If you are looking for a techno-emergenty kind of experience this is not the place, but if you want a warm, generous community add Central Presbyterian to your short list. DISCLAIMER: Yes, I give every church FIVE STARS not because every church is superfantablous, but every church that I will review can certainly be a FIVER to someone. I will never review a church that I would not be willing to try myself if I were looking. No need to bad mouth freaky-scary churches because they are uh, well, freaky and scary.

We attend the Saturday evening services and the music just speaks to my soul! They don't judge those who enter their doors so everyone can enter and feel God's presence. The bible is preached here and you can look up the scriptures for yourself and verify what is being taught. They don't pick and choose which ones to believe and not believe. Love is mentioned 200 times in the Old Testament and you definitely feel love in this church. If you are looking for a church home, come try this church out as I don't think you will be disappointed.

The way the message is delivered is so aesthetic. I FELT the message, I received the message. I've been to a variety of different churches in search of a connection my whole life (48 years) and I finally found it at COR. Pastor Scott and Pastor Adam are truly amazing in the way they share the message. There are so many activities and opportunities for someone to stay connected. I would definitely recommend this church to anyone who has never felt as if they "belonged" in any other churches. Welcome home.

There is a very nice Chapel of Perpetual Adoration here as well…read more They also have a one hour prayer meeting every Wednesday night from 6:30 - 7:30PM in the main church which is open to the public. A private school is operated on premises. I come here daily to use the Chapel of Perpetual Adoration for my personal meditation time. The folks here are very welcoming and it is nice and quiet. I am very thankful to have this place a few blocks from my house.

Located in a safe area of Lenexa and operating out of a refurbished strip mall, Nexus church has…read morethe Holy Spirit in spades! That's right, all are welcome in this house of God but I warn you, this church runs hot for the Lord! As for those who are timid about a new church, the people at Nexus are extremely kind and respectful while eager to welcome you. Walking in all people are welcomed by one of the many ushers. If you have kids, there's a person who'll direct you to a location to sign in via many security measures, ensuring your child is safe and only you can pick them up after the service. I used this service many times when my youngest daughter was going there and I had no issues while she loved it. Next up the lobby has lots of literature about who the church is and their core beliefs. Also there's a coffee station that also has morning delicacies like donuts! Further back is the main auditorium, which I'll address later. The church also has many small groups that meet at other times. Groups like men & women's groups, couples, kids, high school and on down the line. The effort is made to ensure people can always have someone to talk to in this crazy life we're living. I loved the mens group which met once a month b/c they had great breakfast foods brought in. Moreover, this church has a lot of events to partake in or volunteer whenever they arise. If you want, you'll make lifelong friends here. The auditorium is spacious and can get raucous for the lord when the spirit is driving the service. I recall my very first service didn't go 1 hour long, but 3 hours! I've lived all over the nation and Nexus has that down home, small fever pitched feel but one where everyone feels welcome. The band is very good and will always have some sort of song that touches the heartstrings. The screens are very large making the music easy to read and sing along too. Don't worry about singing offkey - you'll fit in with people like me! As for Evangelist Mark Purkey, he's extremely intelligent but won't sugar coat a message. In fact he'll make you look at things in a much, much different light. I rather liked the one series we did where he went through every verse of Revelation so we all gained a better understanding. My final thoughts is God is using Pastor Purkey for great things. When God selects his prophet, I suggest giving it a chance. Overall, Nexus is a life changing church and the facility itself has everything an individual or family needs for their spiritual journey. Moreover, the people are nice, the message is Devine and the coffee is hot. If you come, there will be instances where you forget about time and the holy spirit fills you up. Welcome to Nexus, you are home and God shows up.
