It is a funky place primarily filled with 20 and 30-somethings crowded around the bar and small tables. Many are pushed together for larger groups, having lively conversations in the dark space lit by white candles. I think the room is painted gold, but it is hard to tell. The artwork painted on the walls throughout the space is... interesting. A severed finger writing "help" and an ear that is a mouth. It could keep you scratching your head for days. They don't have an English menu, although in another funny twist, many food and beverage items have English names and German descriptions. My remedial German was aided by the waitress, who was the best I've had in Munich this trip. My "Inferno" salad (grilled turkey, roasted potatoes, zucchini, carrots, bell peppers, peanuts and olives) was excellen,t and despite the name, only mild + on my personal spice scale. I also enjoyed a non-traditional "Old Fashioned." For visitors looking for an alternative to the hundreds of sausage and beer focused restaurants in town, this is a great place to try. For me, it is all about the salads and cocktails here. Do yourself a favor and skip the tram on your way back to town. Not common fish found in ceviche but it was quite flavorful and simply put together. My main was a pasta Vongole and it was slightly disappointing. I was expecting the explosion of flavour from the garlic and clams but it lacked something, perhaps a bit more seasoning and spicing. The creme brûlée I had was also nice. Service here is really good and the staff are quite attentive. It did get a bit slow towards the end of the evening which I did not mind. They have a small but nice wine list and we enjoyed a nice French Sauvignon Blanc. It's not a cheap place but the quality is good and the service is also very good. I would happily come here again. All I had to do to get a beer was make eye contact with the bartender and he'll give me a wink. 30 seconds later he was placing two tall, cold glasses of Franziskaner at our table. Now that's what I call service. The currywursts and rolls were delicious and hot. In addition, the atmosphere was very unique at this bar. People from all walks of life came through this place. At one point there were more Americans in the bar than Germans. Maybe because they had a live feed to the NFL playoff game.
