First visit to local eatery in the neighborhood and located in a gas station. There is limited seating - about 20 tables.The store/restaurant has table service and a menu with mostly salads and sandwiches. Expect $20 for sandwich and drink. A couple entrees were on the menu but most customers were being served sandwiches. I asked for the club sandwich as a wrap instead of bread which option was stated in the menu. Bacon was really overcooked but other ingredients were ok with ham and Swiss cheese, lettuce and a couple tomatoes and mayo. Cole slaw, fries or onion rings were side options. Cole slaw was commercially made but tasty. My friend had a large salad with chicken on it. Sufficient to take some home. Looked freshly made and she was pleased. Tableside service kept a couple servers constantly busy. No frills. Convenient for Sun City residents, golfers and area workers to eat in or take out. Parking is very challenging which is a major negative especially for older and handicapped patrons. read more

Not real friendly. Not customer-oriented. Not problem solvers. The air robot robot took my $2 and failed to supply sufficient pressure to fill the tires. Bill was brought to the table and wanted $3.49 for 12 oz. bottle of apple juice. I questioned & was told restaurant side charges a different price than other cash register... yeah right!!! Walked in for breakfast and every table was dirty. There were no clean tables yet only 1/3 of them had customers. This did not seem to be a problem for the three waitresses and a gray-headed man counting money. We stood there for about 4 mins and no one said anything to us. In addition the waitress in the pink sweatshirt was so rude to customers when their order came out wrong. Totally fail. read more

Just watched "Ashley" behave with total disrespect to an elderly customer who was having issues pumping his gas. He returned to the store three times asking for help and Ashley not only treated him like he was an imbecile, when I made eye contact with her she laughed, rolled her eyes, and shook her head. I immediately told her she was being disrespectful, to which she argued that HE was the issue. I asked for the managers name and I absolutely intend to contact him. The City Market is a convenience store and full-menu restaurant. I live in the area and think it is great to have this place nearby. I got the chicken fried steak dinner this time - it was wonderful! Real mashed potatoes! Yummy and large steak! The help was friendly and the convenience store has wine too! Dreadful service - 35 minutes for a burger - no refills on coffee - and an argumentative server who felt compelled to defend herself when i asked "Thirty-five minutes for a burger and coffee?" She explained that the cook in the kitchen was new, and did not his way around the kitchen yet, and was having trouble with the electric cook top. What restaurant cooks with an electric cook top? So, everyone was helping out in the kitchen. Still never got a refill on my coffee. Don't waste you time or money. These folks haven't a clue what customer service is, and if you point out your observations, they act like they could care less. Eventually they posted a sign on the door stating that the kitchen was closed - in the middle of the day - and people got up and walked out. This business model does not fit in Sun City. We went tonight to grab a burger. Half the restaurant had chairs piled up. I asked the waitress if you are closed. She flippantly pointed to another couple and said, "does it look Iike we are closed?" We should have left then. We didn't. When my hamburger came, I cut it in half to eat. It was totally raw in the center. I walked to the counter and told the employee that it was raw. He motioned to the waitress to come over. I told her it was raw. Her reply was "you didn't ask for it to be well cooked." My reply was, you didn't ask. We left then. I accidentally left my phone so I had to go back in the restaurant. The waitress handed me my phone and said "because of you we had to throw food out. Do you know that there are hungry people, or do you care?" To say the least I was dumbfounded. This was our first time to city market to eat. The food was wonderful, the team was very helpful and our waitress was phenomenal. Everything was at a very reasonable price. The store is right next door to the restaurant so anything you need is right at your fingertips. I would highly recommend this place to eat some good food if you're in the Georgetown area. read more

Stopped in for breakfast. Waiter had a bad attitude starting with taking order. My food was poor ,bacon cooked in Fry-o-lator to over cooked to chew. Potatoes over cooked hard. Did not eat the dish. Waiter took it away and didn't inquire if anything was amiss. He joined a very exclusive club of being the second person in twenty years I haven't tipped for service equivalent to McDonalds. He very aggressively confronted me on the way out demanding a tip. I thought it was going to escalate beyond loud voices to physical confrontation. I advised him I did not appreciate his demand or confronting me about it. Advised him probably a better way to get a tip was to provide service. A New York transplant or work release employee? I couldn't give it zero stars so I chose one. There's a guy working there who is rude, disrespectful, dismissive and just about any other way you can treat customers badly. I don't know his name. He has gray hair and works behind the counter. Anyone who has been in there will know who I am talking about. He will not look at you when you talk to him. I went in this evening to get Megga Million tickets. He gave me one without asking how many I wanted. I told him I wanted 10. I started to leave and saw that he gave me PowerBall tickets. This happened because the whole time he was dealing with me and the two customers before me he was on the phone listening to a recording and punching in numbers. I heard the recording say something about a claim. I guess he was filing a claim. He was rude to the two customers ahead of me also. I have been in there several times. He is always like this. For you to have someone like that working there is absolutely despicable. He is going to cause a confrontation that is going to involve the police and then you will get sued until the end of time. read more

I just received the most horribly obnoxious comment from the blond young lady who was running the cash register at City Market about 10 minutes ago. I pulled into the parking lot and had to navigate around approximately 10 landscape trucks with trailers. They were occupying nearly every pump and the majority of the parking lot itself. When I told the cashier that a lot of Sun City residents were complaining, myself included, that the trucks were blocking the entrance, etc., I was told that the landscaping crews were only there for 40 minutes a day for their lunch/dinner break and that I would just have to either put up with their illegal parking, or come 40 minutes before they come, or 40 minutes after. I told her that was a very poor response and lacked any sense of customer service. She responded that I would simply have to put up with it and that they were customers, too, and that she thought she was giving very good customer service. HEY CITY MARKET, pandering to the temporary landscaping crews to the detriment of the residents of Sun City and telling the Sun City residents to put up or not come back is HORRENDOUS customer service. She needs to be pulled from her job in the front of the house and/or lose her job. She made this comment in front of other Sun City Residents. I told her I was going to call her manager and she simply shrugged her shoulders. read more

Horrible service. Three tables sat down after us and all got acknowledged, had their beverages and orders taken prior to us. Finally got up and asked waitress for coffee and menus. When food came out, my father's over medium eggs still had uncooked whites. The bacon, which obviously had been cooked earlier in the morning, was not reheated on the grill so was hard and cold. Waitress worked at one speed and could not come close to keeping up with demand. Folks were getting up and asking for the convenience store clerk to check them out due to waitress not getting back to them. I have eaten here at least a couple dozen times while visiting my folks over the years and this place has definitely gone down hill! read more

I am a African American woman that went in to have breakfast waited for a total of 50 minutes. I am Always the only African American woman in the restaurant everytime i go in. I asked the manager what the problem was and that i had been waiting to for 50 minutes to place my order. I was then told that the waiter refused to wait on me because i stiffed the staff and not tip them. A bunch of BS. I was a waitress in my lifetime and i know the importance of tipping the wait staff. I explained to the manager that i always tip atleast 20% for service. If bad service i still give them something. So i do not believe that was the real reason why i was refused service. When you go in you have you wait for service which is slow. The staff are lazy they don't revisit the table once they bring your food. And they expect a tip. They come with the bill for you to pay. I went in the day before and the waitress did not acknowledge me. The waiter acknowledge me and offered to take my order.. which i appreciated and he ended up with the 5 dollar tip. I believe the reason i was refused was because i am a African American. I have receipts that showbi tip 20%or more. Rascism is not tolerated in my world. Iwill never step foot back in there again. At one time this was a good place to get a light meal without leaving Sun City. But the service has gone steadily down. A few weeks ago we were there for over 20 minutes without being waited on. As we walked out the young man working yelled that he was only one person and had too much to do. Tried again today and three times food was brought to our table that wasn't ours and our really simple order took over 30 minutes. All those incorrect meals brought to us were for people that came in after we did. Oil that fish was fried in was old. We won't go back. Also had a person bring their dog in and sit them in a booth and fed the dog off their plate. Nobody said anything to them about regulations. This was not a service dog. read more

I stopped in for breakfast this morning and shouldn't have. Service was slow. Waitress acted bored. Toast was cold. Medium fried eggs had runny whites. A yankee must have cooked the grits because they were runny and had lumps in it. I ordered bacon and never got it. I almost walked out without paying, but didn't.
