This was my first time at city nails and my nails CV lasted longer than any place I've been!

We walked in at 930 and staff were with other clients. We waited while they finished their conversation and then were asked what we wanted. While explaining what service we desired the lady seemed very unenthused and proceeded to comment "I am busy" we decided not to wait since it didn't seem like they wanted to service us in the first place. Having moved from Chicago a few months ago it was totally scary for me to find a new nail salon in Murfreesboro Tennessee. I was so blessed to have been referred to City Nails and spa. They are so good at what they do! From their pedicures to their nail services, they are thorough and impeccable. Sandy the owner is amazing, patient and extremely thorough. Firstly, this shop was simply a replacement for my normal nail shop. I wanted my nails done for Christmas and these guys were open. I walk in, they were dead, so I immediately got a seat. Plus one. The guy began applying my full set, everything rolling smoothly. But things started to pick up and he begun to rush. Minus one. When he was finished my thumb was mad crooked and I made him fix the nail. Then it was time for polish. My nails were not fully painted and you could see the sides of my real nail. I asked him to do a double coat, which he should already do and I asked him to get in the sides. I shouldn't have to. I also had diamonds that fell off in a matter of two days. Eventually they turned out..decent. The after math of removing my acrylic, well let's just say I will NEVER be going to this shop again. The dents in my nails are horrendous. I was beyond pleased with this nail salon. After searching for a new nail salon in Murfreesboro, I finally found this one that met all standards. 1. reasonable prices 2. great service 3. extremely friendly staff 4. Sandy is a true artist Beyond these basic must, my nails looked great and were the exact shape and length that other salons just could not get right. It has now been three weeks and not one nail has broke, paint has not chipped, and the butterfly art has not faded or lost any detail. This is nearly impossible considering I work heavily with my hands in the yard, refurbishing furniture, and I am a CNA by trade, all of this requires my hands to constantly be in the water and rough treatment. I finally had to call and make an appointment for a fill-in because my nails have grown out. I visited other nail salons in Murfreesboro, receiving some of the worst customer service experience and nails breaking and chipping after only a few hours. One lady told me she was in business for 20 years but yet could not understand my language when I explained I only wanted a full set, short, regular polish, and nothing else. She threatened not to do my nails because I refused to pay extra for a service I did not want. One would assume after 20 years you should be able to understand your customer's request. Sandy did not push any extra on me, although she did a marvelous job with painting my butterflies. I will not go anywhere else, there is no need to try. We went to get a jelly pedicure at this place very horrible experience. As we were clearing up to the woman that the jelly pedicure is suppose to be more jelly then water so that the customer can partake in the real jam segment she started to let us know we were wrong she been doing this for years asking what degree do we have and and called us stupid. She continued to shout at us to leave and never return. We didn't once speak loudly or even respond back and it made the whole shop direct their concentration toward her. It was really the most amateurish experience getting a pedicure I have had at any point. Once more, I won't visit and hope you guys would take this and not visit as well. read more

This is literally the worst nail shop I've ever been to in my life. They are very unprofessional. I went for a full acrylic set and within 3-4 days every nail had popped off like press ons. Not only did they pop off the shape was NOT what I asked for at all. When I asked for them to be fixed the owner was rude and argumentative. NEVER GO HERE!!! read more

Called in to see if I need to make an appointment and was told by the very confused guy in the phone that I didn't need to that they have openings, I've not been sitting here for 25minutes while they have taken "appointments" ahead of me. Very displeased with this place unfortunately I have no choice but to use them today since the other places are about to close and this place promised me an opening. It's a waste of money! They are not good doing eyebrows, even doing pedicure, I went there it gave it a try a lot of times, because maybe they are just having a bad day. The eyelash and brow area is dirty, when they did my pedi, it didnt even clean my side cuticle, it's just like they are soaking it, rubbing it for awhile then put nail polish on it. On eyebrows they are not even clean after they waxed it, matter of fact there was one time that they messed up my eyebrows, waxed the part that it not supposed to get wax and i end up with uneven eyebrows, ok it will grow back up, went back there and still messed the heck out of my eyebrows. I am extremely disappointed in my services here! I'm in town, from Atlanta, and the nail salon across the street wasn't open so I decided to try this new salon out. I went in for a simple Gel Polish change...Simple right? NO!!! It cost me $30 plus a $5 tip. I'm used to getting full sets of nails for $25, Pedicures for $35, with Gel Polish. This is highway robbery & I wouldn't recommend EVER coming to this location!!! There was a place on the menu on the Additional Services side that read Gel $10 so I was thinking I'm getting a steal. In Atlanta it's ONLY $15. I'm very upset that I wasn't given an appropriate price for the quality of service. DO NOT come here if you don't want to break the bank for a simple procedure. A polish change for $30??? And after letting the man who charged me know that I've never paid that amount for a polish change his response was "We do things differently than Atlanta!" What? You're right...subpar work for an expensive price. Ridiculous...Outrageous...Excessive!!! I am IN LOVE with this place. I moved to Murfreesboro almost a year ago and have just been going to different nail salons trying to find the one for me ever since I moved here. I decided I'd give this Salon a try yesterday and I was immediately impressed. I came in thinking I was getting a fill in for my acrylics but he spent time with me explaining why they looked the way they did and that I should try something new so I ended up getting dip powder and I left extremely happy!!! This place is nice for a couple reasons.. 1. The woman that did my pedicure did a wonderful job and made sure everything she did was perfect before my toes were painted 2. They have a nice selection of nail polish colors, gels and powder. I almost got exactly what I wanted.... almost. When I came to my full set, I wanted a coffin shape nail and I didn't want them to be extremely long because I take a lot of notes in class and because I just feel like long nails get in the way too much. The guy that did my nails seemed to do them in a rush... I understand it was getting late, but that's also because there were a lot of people in the shop and only 3 people doing nails. Some of my nails are crooked, some are not fully painted and can be noticed on the side, although I said I didn't want them long..he still made them longer than I wanted, and on some fingers you can CLEARLY see my actual nail underneath and lastly, the nail polish is slightly messed up already (got them done on Saturday and it's Monday).
