The lady that was doing my nails was on her phone pretty much the whole time. I showed her the design I wanted and she done her own. In the middle of doing my nails she just walked away and the man came and started doing mine. They were rude and charged me more because my nails were "long". I said something about the designs and she just keep on going. read more

My nails look like they were done 3-4 days ago. It looks like the nail has grown out however that is not the case. I got them done 5 hrs ago and that little cut on the side of my pointing finger is from the nail tech. I usually get better service than this. I'm highly disappointed this time. Im never one to leave bad reviews on a business page, but this one I will never forget.. the woman doing my nails was on the phone talking, and on Facebook trying to have me read and screenshot a post she seen, while I was also on the phone as well.. she was trying to place my hands on her phone to screenshot that post & obviously I wasn't understanding what she was doing. Then was able to figure out what she wanted me to do. Me and my 5 year old both got our nails done. Mine were SNS hers was just regular paint, and somehow it was $90. I wanted a full set. I want just like the picture. I have always went to Tammys but they were busy. I kept telling the man that I wanted full set. Does this look like a full set? No. I don't think so. I'm so upset. I continued to tell him that this wasn't right. Well finally I just gave up. The lady that did my gel kept looking at the picture and giving me a look she got the colors right but she tried her best. He told me $70... for that. I was like ummmm how. The lady took my money and was going to give me the $35 dollar price because she felt bad and he said no I pay out of pocket. So I paid $70 for this. I'm extremely upset. I called & they told me to come in at a specific time. I arrived and there were 4 people picking out polish color with only 2 techs. They told me to come back in a 1/2 hour. I insisted that I had an appointment so they said they would work me in! I wanted an acrylic fill with one nail repaired. The tech cleared my polish and was going to use a nail tip. I have wide nails and she selected a narrow tip, not to mention that I have very thin, weak natural nails & a tip would just fall off. She was miffed that I insisted on a nail form. She slapped it on without any care or design. I should have just left at that point but,, unfortunately, I didn't because I was from out of town and not familiar with local salons. The new nail is ugly, flat, thick and poorly shaped. I've tried to file it but it is too thick because she didn't take care to align it with my nail. I tried to fix it before she applied the acrylic, but she slapped my hand away and said she knew what she was doing. On top of all this, she pulled drill heads from a drawer and dropped used drill heads back into the same drawer - terrible hygiene. My regular tech soaks all drill heads after use! She was very sloppy and careless in her technique. She used cheap polish, not good quality as I am used to. She wanted to charge me $60 but I complained and she dropped it to $55. I normally pay $40! So I went to city nails on Friday. The blonde haired woman greeted me. She was super friendly and nice! I explained I wanted a fill in. The blonde nice woman proceeds to saw off my previous gel polish. Then, Mimi, the only person there that evening to do nails, (I'm not sure if anyone else does acrylics there) does mine. Blonde lady tells her I wanted fill in. Mimi demanded I get a new set and starts clipping my nails that are well grown out as it was and sawing them away. Trust me if I had a chance to say no about her not filling in my nails I would've. She ripped my pinky nail off and said these are too old you need a new set. So there I was with a pinky finger missing I wasn't about to not let her fix it now. Then she took an unused nail from her nail tip box and started prying my nails off. She put the tip back in the box so who's to say how many other people she didn't use that on. It was so painful and she knew it too. I told her this hurt. She offered halfway through the process to soak them and I was like no thanks you've already done this much. So she puts on my new tips, pre glues my nails even before measuring my nail beds. She doesn't ask me for my preferred length, she just starts clipping them off right to the finger tip. Her acrylic technique was very wet and sloppy, and she wasn't taking her time. AT ALL. It was a rushed process from start to finish. Mimi insulted my small hands and nail beds. She insulted how small I was in size as well. Moving on to the blonde from the beginning. She finishes me with my choice of gel polish. Like I said before, she is nice so I am leaving her out of the mess. I liked her color and she was very nice and complimented me when I told her the things Mimi had said. She asked my thoughts and I said well I like the color. I said I'm not crazy about my nails at all though. I went in thinking I was gonna spend maybe $55 maximum because I wanted a fill and polish change, but I left with a new set and gel polish, UNHAPPY and broke lol. $60 is my total, and I know $5 more dollars.. I am not a Karen, I'll spend $100.00 just do a good job... And Mimi was shocked when the blonde told her I only gave $60 with no tip. The pictures are of my nails. I mean my nails could be a lot worse but looking closer to them they are bubbled, well over my nail beds, and behind the nails were not filed so I have lots of jagged pieces through got hardened by acrylic and the gel polish the pieces scratch my face and my scalp when I'm doing anything. If you like the business that's fine, but I just will not be going back. If you had seen my nails I had gotten in before from Tammy's nails, you would be sobbing too because these are just awful. I go to this salon often to get acrylics. This most recent time was a great experience. There was hardly a wait time and it was very clean. When the tech cut my nail the way I thought I wanted it, which was coffin style, I asked him to make them square instead just because I like the look on me better. He had no problem with it and was incredibly nice about it. However, when getting my acrylics painted, he missed a few areas on the sides of my nails and it didn't seem like a good, even coat. Then I went to the UV light station to allow my nails to dry and after about 15 minutes he told me I could go without checking to see if my nails were dry (like they usually do). I suspect it was because he had 2 customers coming over to the same station after a pedicure and the station isn't that big. read more

The most painful experience ever. Mani and pedi. I left with bleeding fingers on both hands. Nails uneven and was a 3 hour experience. My friends nails wouldn't dry. The pedi left my friends feet with wounds from the scrubbing that she told them was painful. Not from the area was in town for the day. Please do not make the mistake I made. Find a better place. This is the first yelp review from me because it was so bad that I don't want anyone else to suffer. read more

Worst pain I've ever felt in a nail salon! My girlfriend and I had our nails done here and we both experienced really bad pain from both nail techs. They were really rough and they refused to do the color my girlfriend asked for, rather they picked a whole different color without asking if she liked it or was okay with it. They also tried to do SNS on her when we both stated we would like Acrylic. Kept pushing for it even whenever she said she didn't want SNS. I really do not recommend this place. They were rude and very rough in general. My girlfriends nails are also uneven and not shaped properly. read more

Very disappointing. Usually go to a different salon but decided to try this one out because I didn't want to have to have a long wait at my regular place. Went in for a full set. Their price sign said 27+ for this. They charged me 45. When I asked why, they told me because I got colored tips. Had I known it would be an extra 18 dollars, I would've stuck with white tips. $45 is very pricey for this area. They did look good when I walked out of the salon. However, within 24 hours, the acrylic began to separate from the nail tips leaving a tiny gap of space for dirt to collect. This looked awful. I went back to the salon to show them what had happened and they didn't offer any apologies or discounts to fix them. The guy eventually agreed to fix 5 nails for 15 dollars. They were fixed and the acrylic is beginning to separate from the tips once again. I will never go back to this salon. read more

My daughters acrylic nails look hideous! Paid $35 for one and $27 for the other. They cut them down super short so that they don't even look like acrylics. My daughters wanted long nails and even had a picture of the nails they wanted. Globs of nail polish on the tips only. And no one there knows the managers name or phone number to make a formal complaint. So ridiculous. I wouldn't give them any stars. In my opinion the place is dirty also. Worst nail salon I have ever been to. Unfortunately, there aren't many options in Morehead, but I would recommend either not getting your nails done or make the extra hour drive to Lexington. I came in for a pedicure.. I'm leaving with paint all over my toes. Maybe it was a bad experience with this particular nail tech but this is the worst experience I have ever had. Everything was dirty, and half done at best. AVOID. read more
