Rating this a historic site, this is pretty cool. The city hall is situated in a park filled with…read morelarge trees on Main Street, right out of a Rockwell painting. The building began life as a school and was remodeled to its current art deco style in the 1930's. There are plaques and monuments on the grounds. Because this is still a functioning city hall, many areas are not accessible to the public.

There's a lot to state about this town as somebody who moved here 3 years ago…read more this place has a lot of negatives to it. some of the cons are as follows 1) customer service and the businesses and service here is bad, you have quite a few people that will try to rip you off or just give substandard service, examples are as follows - the tradesmen in town don't show up or communicate and if they do there's a 50/50 chance their gonna charge you top dollar for services rendered or try to hustle you for top dollar while giving bad service or leaving a mess or damaging things while they do it, the cherry on top their probably gonna be rude while they do it. 2) if it not getting ripped off or treated badly then your getting poor accommodations, there's a lot of places in town that for the most par that don't fix or keeps things in repair, quite a few of the rental apartments or housing options are run down, always look through the google reviews of a place and compare notes to make sure the same things your noticing aren't popping up when your vetting business owners or landlords. 3)this town is boring and there's nothing to do unless you like to get drunk, go to church or do outdoor activities, mind you there are other more hidden things you can find to do but you wont learn about them unless you do so searching and learn about them via word of mouth but even then your gonna run into problems with the people your gonna deal with while doing those things. 4) a lot of the people here are weird, only way I could describe it. you got a lot of poverty, a lot of people never lived or went anywhere else so their uncultured and this is all they know and they have "small town mentality" aka this is the way we've always done things, you also get a sense that a lot of the people you meet peaked in high school because they act like high schoolers, if its not that, a huge portion of the people who have a lot of pull in the town are Mormons and the rest of the people are kinda white trash to be honest there's very few working professionals that don't fit the white trash or mormon check box, last but not least you have a lot of drug use, and metal health issue and people that got raised in dysfunctional families here and they all openly talk about it, add all this on top of each other and cliquish/ peaked in high school attitudes and your gonna be dealing with a lot of undesirable people here that aren't chill people to be around, a lot of them suffer from mental health issues, personality disorders, insecurity and ego issues which are gonna rub you the wrong way . 5)gossips galore, a lot of people here talk to much and are overly invested in the people around them, coming from a big city environment you notice people like this and start to avoid actively dealing with the people you notice who gossip about others so much and actively avoid them, the problem is a huge portion of people in town are gossips, the funny part is a lot of these people who participate in this behavior if you watch them and size them up their lives usually suck more then the people their gossiping about which is ironic because if they spent their free time working on themselves and fixing themselves instead of gossiping about others then their lives would improve. 6) lower standards across the board examples-a lot of fat unhealthy people-poor customer service-poor quality food at places to eat at-poor work ethic people that want to charge you top dollar-a lot of people can't drive here-poor quality roads-75 percent of the business aren't worth doing business with-lack of quality people to spend time with-not a lot of decent jobs unless you count the mine or law enforcement-poor work ethic characters people even though its a highly christian town. if you move here and are not from here some advice I would give is this. first off "don't if you can help it" but if you decided to do so anyways, be prepared to get ripped off, the mine drove the cost of rent up to 700 dollars a month for a room to rent due to the mine paying 700 dollars a month to their workers to pay for a place so everybody in town is price gouging for rentals here due to that. if you buy a house hire a decent out of are inspector, a lot of the people here don't take care of there properties and you might get ripped off due to the local inspects not doing their job properly, you could end up with a lemon of a house that needs a lot of repairs. if your looking for women try to go as young as you can, a lot of the women in town are single moms, and have been passed around hard....thats why I say your better off pulling women who are younger, also a lot of the women here got raised in a bad environment so your gonna have to vet them for personality disorders, mental health issues or various other things like drug use or being raised in piss poor family environments. next is the people, take your time and slowly vet the people you deal with in this town, a lot of them are low class peeps

Great views of the area, surrounding mountains, etc. We saw at least 8 deer all huddled by each other, birds, small animals, etc. Check out my pics for some of the highlights.

Since it is at a higher elevation, you have increased biodiversity of plants and animals and the temperature can be a good10-15 degree difference from the desert floor. I got to see some amazing birds there... and it's a known birding paradise!! There is a privately run lodge, B&B, and camping options plus a nearby lodge run by US Forest Service if you want a getaway. There hasn't been much rain and so the creek beds were dry... but I hear when there is water .. it's a whole other ecosystem with a mini waterfalls included. The picnic spaces are through out the park and several accessible by wheelchair. The park is excellently maintained with good signage (thanks to the world of many dedicated federal employees of Interior/ forest services who have cared in protecting and maintaining the land for us to enjoy). Looking forward to exploring this area even more!
