just went there last Saturday turned in a lot of aluminum and I really felt like I should've got more than what I did and I called around and they are the lowest of anybody on what they pay. Their website says they pay top dollar I don't know who's top dollar they're paying. By half I made $72 everybody else I talk to you should've been between 120 and 127. read more

The only other time I have sold scrap metal was in another city and the experience was rather scary. Today I wanted an adventure so I loaded up the trash sack of aluminum cans and some old copper wire we had in the garage and headed over the City Scrap Metal. Yes it is very industrial, so I don't suggest wearing your finest clothes or high healed sneakers. There was a line when I was there, ahead of me the usual pick up trucks of the guys you see driving around town scrapping. When finally got to the door, I was met by a polite young man named Christopher. I explained I was a newbie and he said he would help me. That he did. I took my two items, the wire and soda cans into the warehouse and Chris filled out some paperwork, calculating how much each item weighed (they do this by type and they take all sorts of metals). He then gave me the yellow paper and directed me to the office, where I was paid cash on site for my scrap. Painless way to recycle and get some spare cash for the trouble. I found this process to be well organized and efficient. I will be back to sell my cans. read more

I had some metal stored up in my garage that I didn't want to throw away. I took it to City Scrap metal and got a few bucks for it. Their operation is set up efficiently. You pull up and are met by an employee who helps you unload your car and put everything on the scale. The employee that helped me was Tyrell. He was very friendly and professional and made the transaction very smooth. After you unload you pull your car around the side of the building, park and go inside to the cashier to get your money. Just make sure you have an ID with you. read more

i agree with the other post, this place has really gone down hill Right now their prices are almost 15 cents a pound for cans under Langleys Last year I took a stainless steel sign that was on the plaza over 100 lbs They agreed in the yard it was stainless, whe I got to the window , it had suddenly become aluminum, I ytried to get the metal back and go elsewhere but they claimed it was already dumped in a bin I am not one to write bad reviews as it hurts people trying to make a living. I live real close and its sad I have to drive 30 miles , because this place has gone downhill read more

It is sad to say that this place has changed. I have been going there for the last several years. I am a small-time scrapper, and my loads are relatively small. A week ago, when I went there it was a nightmare. There was no one in line which was a good thing. I was directed to pull up in front of the door, however, there was a bobcat that was trying to leave the garage, and if I had not moved back on my own the bobcat would have proceeded forward as it was obvious he could not see me. Once in front of the garage; started to take items out of the car, however, the person told me not to, as my steel items would have to go to another area, which was strange, we are talking about pots, pans, nails, etc. The employee said the load was too large. He took all the of the non-steel items out and gave me a ticket, and directed me to another area. Once in the other area, was informed that in order to get the scrap out of the vehicle, that I would need to back my vehicle onto a bridge. I asked the guy how do I get out of there, he said pull out onto the street and walk in to get paid. I pulled back onto the street, and had to walk approximately 1/4 mile to go into the office to get $7.00. If there was another facility in town; it would quickly put them out of business, their lot is a mess all type of debris on the ground surprised I did not get a flat tire.
