They moved my grandma, broke her shelf and refused to replace it, then charged her $200 more than they quoted her. After she questioned the increased cost, they threatened to take her to small claims court. Awful service, awful attitude, would not recommend them to anyone wishing to move. A bit disappointed in their service this time around, they have always been good when moving furniture, today didn't go as well. My furniture was moved okay, so far no damages that I can see but my door jam took a beating I now cannot close my outside door properly because they must have used a bit of force moving my freezer in or out. The top jam is bent now and probably the screws stripped so a bit of work to repair that door hinge. My door jam into my one bedroom is in splinters because they must have forced my dresser a bit. No signs of damages on the dresser but man my moulding on the door took a beating. They only moved 4 things in and my freezer out, glad I didn't have more to be moved in or out. read more

Do not get City Second Hand Prince George to move your stuff. most of my good furniture was damaged in the move from being stacked and strapped inappropriately, banged and dragged. Most of the furniture pieces have been scratched, scraped, gouged, chipped or dented. they dragged and rolled an antique table top on pavement right in front of me. The owner refused to come look at the damages and said I was making it up. I am looking at thousands of dollars to replace everything or tens of hours to refinish it. also, do not give them your credit card number. I gave them my credit card for the deposit. they then charged the move to my credit card against my wishes. they might do an adequate job moving rocks, but not household items of any value. read more

So the dryer in my house died, the heating coil didn't turn off for the better part of a week before I noticed, I'm lucky my house didn't burn down. I went to city second hand and bought a used dryer that I was assured was refurbished and in great working order, I was told that it had been returned once but that it had been repaired (silly me for believing them). I paid for delivery and they picked up my old dryer for no charge when they dropped off the new one. The dryer arrived at my house and was not working correctly, I had a 30 day warranty and called them immediately to come and fix the dryer. When the repair man arrived (a day later than he was supposed to), he stated that the dryer was irreparable. City second hand was accommodating, immediately picked up the dryer and called me to arrange a refund cheque. When I arrived to pick it up, he refused to refund the delivery charge or the tax on it. So in the end I paid $42 for city second hand to deliver a piece of garbage to my house and pick it up again. Oh and I should probably mention that my old dryer (the one that almost burnt down my house) was on the sale floor, for $195. Buyer beware. read more
