I hired K Alexander Kitchen and Bath Designers to renovate my kitchen. I had formica Laminates but wanted to update my counters to Quartz. I'd interviewed other companies but thought with a design firm, it would be less stress, a one-stop shop, and they would do the heavy work for me. I've not had the best success with renovations. Being a single female, it is common knowledge that we are usually victims of predators, and for those experiences, I don't go half-cocked but try to be as informed as possible. Even doing due diligence, I still found myself in a 4 month nightmare. They subcontracted with Natural Gallery Stone Kitchen and Bath, and it was an absolute nightmare. I expressed strongly to them that I was having Ankle replacement surgery September 3 and wanted to have it done prior. We discussed this in the latter part of April and began in May. I have been without a working kitchen since then. It wasn't money because I paid upfront and in full. Natural Gallery took their sweet time. The fabrication was terrible, the hole for the faucet wasn't centered and the stone's sheen was inconsistent. It was a high gloss stone but the fabrication caused matte, rough and inconsistent textures. Not to belabor the problem but I was so stressed that I became ill. I thought that I would still be without counters, a sink or a finished product that it flared my Lupus. I was washing my dishes in the bathroom. I literally prayed and was directed to The Countertop Factory. I'd just left a company on Glenwood Ave that I was unavailable, detached, and wouldn't return calls. I sat in a gas station parking lot crying. I Googled Countertop installers, and right down the street is The Countertop Factory! I spoke to a lovely person named Haven. Haven was empathetic and kind. I met with her the very day. I was shown stone and different edges. I also met Nick and Erick. We came up with a game plan. Within 2 weeks of my initial meeting, I have a beautiful kitchen that I'd still be waiting for with the other company. Chris and Michael came today and meticulously installed the cabinets. Every effort to detail was met. Wes is a supervisor. He is direct but considerate. I was so nervous about the job but he promised to take care of me and he did just that. It I'd hard to find companies that care. Workmanship, craftsmanship, and pride are a thing of the past in most cases, but I was blessed to have found a company that puts their customers first, and their reputation for excellence is well earned. The cost is worth every penny because you get what you pay for. If it seems like I am gushing, it is because I am. I highly recommend them! I appreciate everything that this company and the staff has done for me.

My kitchen sink fell after only being in this new house less than 3 years. Pulte would not cover any repairs and told me to contact the Countertop Factory who installed my countertop and sink. Of course, I was leery of using them to fix the problem. I have owned 3 newly built houses in my lifetime and have never seen a sink fall. I hired a different company to reinstall the sink. I contacted Eric at Countertop and sent him pictures and told him I was having a different company reinstall the sink. Eric contacted the owner and Countertop agreed to pay all my expenses in reinstalling the sink and reconnecting the plumbing. All I can say is the company did the right thing for me. Give them a chance.

If you want the short version: unless everything goes perfectly, you're risking your hard-earned money. Keep this in mind, I spent over $5,000 for a countertop and was provided something incorrect, and was mocked for thinking someone should apologize. If your installation is straightforward, you might be fine. But if anything--anything--goes wrong, be prepared. CCKB takes zero personal responsibility and will deflect blame onto anything or anyone else. Some background. ~15 years ago, I worked in the kitchen and bath industry. I'd heard some rumors about CCKB back then but never had much direct experience with their work. Fast forward--I was referred to them by a remodeling company. I hesitated, but decided to give them a shot based on the referral. Also worth noting: I've been involved in over four dozen kitchen installations and personally built eight wood countertops. I know how to template, how to handle out-of-plumb walls, and how overhangs work. I'm not a random customer. We had a single slab of honed quartzite, very specific design specs, and a setup that was 100% ready--walls, cabinets, and layout. During templating for the makeup vanity, it was even noted that I requested an extended overhang on the left side (near a doorway). The right side was bordered by a tall pantry-style cabinet, and the back edge met a wall that was out of plumb (which we all knew going in). What showed up? A completely botched countertop. The right side was cut at a ~15-degree diagonal--shorter in the back than the front--leaving a 7/8" gap where the counter should have been flush with the pantry cabinet. Think of a rectangle with three straight sides, and the fourth side hacked at an angle. To be fair, the installer did the best he could but neither him, nor the installation manager offered any recommendation on how to fix it. They originally offered to cut the finished left end, but neither my contract nor I could see how that would fix anything. The suggestion to fix this, came from me. After measuring the angle, there was only one way to fix the gap "Scribe it to the cabinet" just the way the template should have been done to begin with. So, he cut off the angled portion (with an impressively steady hand), but we lost the overhang we had designed. I told the install team I wasn't happy, and then, silence. No call from CCKB--just an invoice. When I finally called, I spoke with someone who I believe is a co-owner. She kept insisting the issue was due to the back wall being out of plumb--totally missing the fact that the actual error was on the side, not the back. The template and CAD drawings showed the measurements she said and the mistake was "the wall being out of plumb"; however, after speaking to everyone NOT associated with CCKB, the mistake was clearly the cut. I tried to explain calmly that this wasn't about the wall--it was a simple length measurement along the side. She repeated herself again, ignoring the facts. I finally told her, "I don't think you understand what I'm trying to say." That's when she laughed at me. Loudly. Mockingly. She then snapped, "Okay, what do you want?" I said calmly, "I don't think I should be charged full price." Her response? "Fine. I'll give you $200 off." I told her I appreciated the gesture, but what I really wanted was an apology and some accountability. Instead, she laughed again and said: "What do you want me to tell you? That you're right? Ok, You're right! *mockingly* I'm sorry, you win! Does that make you feel better?!" I was stunned. Her tone was completely unprofessional and condescending. I told her I just wanted acknowledgment of the issue, and an apology would have been nice. Let's be clear: the only reason this install was even usable was because I guided the installers on how to fix it. The installers had no plan. Bottom line, every company makes mistakes and I believe that's human. But how a company responds to those mistakes defines its integrity. CCKB failed that test completely.

But almost immediately afterward, the cabinets started bubbling and peeling--despite the owner claiming they were solid maple. I reached out to the owner repeatedly, and he ignored every single message. Only after dragging my contractor into (Reno-Pro) it did he finally bother to call me back. His excuse? That the damage was my fault because the cabinets are supposedly only meant to be cleaned with a dry cloth. If that's truly the case, why on earth would he recommend them for a kitchen? And why did he originally tell me they were solid wood? After several attempts to get answers--plus leaving a negative review--he reluctantly replaced a few doors. He even showed up with his secretary, who parroted his claims despite never being part of any previous conversation. A year later, the exact same problems are back. The cabinets are bubbling everywhere: top, bottom, sides--you name it. The quality is absolutely unacceptable. If these cabinets can't withstand basic, minimal cleaning, the owner should have been honest from the start. I would have gladly paid more upfront instead of now facing the cost of replacing my entire kitchen. This company is interested only in making a sale, not in providing a product that lasts. Save yourself the headache. Do not support this business. You get what you pay for--and in this case, what you get is complete garbage.

I had them come and redo my kitchen years ago and I just called on them again to do our bathrooms. When I spoke with Ted, he remembered me (that never happens) and told me that David would reach out to me to schedule and sure enough, David called quickly afterward. We were able to put something on the books for the very next week and now I have beautiful cabinets! Also, when David came to take measurements, he checked out our kitchen, noticed a slight blemish with one of the seams and told me he would fix that too- without skipping a beat! The best part was the professionalism. Somehow, the night after the install, there was a leak in one of the new cabinets. Not only was David quick to respond, but he told me he would do whatever it takes to make it right. You just don't see this kind of customer service anymore. David and his crew were quick, super nice, fixed the leak, tore out the sheet rock, called a sheetrock repair guy and painter to come out and complete the job free of charge. I could not be more grateful and happy that I found these guys. When we move into our next house, I know that I will be calling these folks again. They have me for life. We chose the J&K Dove White "E" line. Apparently this is the J&K budget line, but you would be hard pressed to find anything budget about them. They look beautiful and have a good solid feel to them. Any little adjustment that had to be done was done and made to look as if it was all there from the beginning. David wanted to take pics when he was done, but I wanted him to wait until the whole kitchen was done because it didn't do the cabinets a justice to not see them in a finished kitchen. Rest assured, we will have him come back when it is all done to take pictures to really show how nice these cabinets are. I would absolutely recommend them for your next cabinet job!

I have engineered hardwood flooring that was showing random damaged areas and I had no clue what…read morewas causing it. Jason from Creative Flooring Solutions came out and looked at the situation and gave me a quote on the labor to pull the flooring up and put new flooring down after we discover what was causing the damaged areas. It turned out to be termites. It was a small job, but Creative Flooring was kind enough to take it on anyway, which I greatly appreciated. They showed up on schedule to do the job, vacuumed & cleaned up any debris, I then had a termite guy come out to do his thing, and Creative Flooring Solutions returned at a later date to put the new flooring down. You can't even tell there was ever an issue now. The communication was great whenever I had questions, the pricing was extremely fair and reasonable, and I was very pleased with the outcome & end result. Highly recommend this business!
