I had a far more serious issue two months ago. My water heater burst.... I heard a loud noise one late Friday afternoon and I walked into my garage to see water coming from the closet that houses my water heater, water softener and furnace. The heater had definitely burst and so I called Alltek for help. They guided me on the phone on what I needed to do to shut the water off to the heater and then someone came the next day. I obviously needed a new one. They could have installed a tank water heater that day but I decided to wait till they got a tankless in snd upgrade, just a few day wait. Once they got the tankless water heater, I had constant non-interrupted hot water. Didn't get it for a bad price either and it will eventually pay for itself in lower power and water bills. Service from Alltek cant be beat! They were there when my family needed them.

This all started at the time of installation. The crew performing the installation vented the refrigerant charge from my old system into a bucket of water instead of recovering or recycling as required by the Federal Clean Air Act EPA 608. I made a video on my cellphone and was planning to file a complaint with the EPA about the willful disregard of the regulation. I discussed this with their Service Manager and was asked not to do this. I agreed with him only if this incident was discussed with hie crew at their next meeting. My experience went downhill from here. I subscribe to their Planned Service Program and have received unsatisfactory experience. Only once in 6 visits has the technicion collected sufficient data to track any refrigerant leaks. The EPA 608 reqiires tracking the refrigerants used in home units from "cradle to grave". This means that any refrigerant added, lost or recovered must be reported. The visit in 2025 collected the baseline info for the first time. The visit this year was haphazard and nothing useful was recorded. I am not a satisfied customer of Alltek Plumbing and Heating

My well water tank and pressure switch, and my gas water heater, needed to be replaced. This happened after heavy rains, and a failed sump pump, flooded my basement. Both were replaced by Mitch Sandlin. He was courteous and professional. Doug's uses a scheduling system that confirms your scheduled appointment, let's you know when the technician is en route, and when the job is completed. All via text message. Very convenient. He was mad at his employees, the tight space, and the inconvenience on a Friday, and he was not holding it back. I can't help that my house is older, that a smaller person wasn't available to get into the tight space, or the fact it happened on a Friday. The "finished" job was shoddy, and will be fixed by someone else. After the last employee "cleaned up" we picked up drink bottles, supplies, and rocks through the basement. If you don't mind unprofessional, vulgar language and attitudes and having to fix things and clean up, then this may be your solution, but we will not be calling again. I would have rated two stars for how fast they came, but the fact that he told me over and over that he was marking this as an emergency. Just so unprofessional.

If I could give less stars, I would…read more We called Dotson Plumbing And Heating out to my house to give us a free quote on the leak in our crawlspace. While there, we tried to discuss another issue with our plumbing. We were concerned with our kitchen and bathroom sink as our kitchen sink was not draining. They apparently took a look and said that there was absolutely nothing wrong, and gave us a quote of $600 just for the leak in the crawlspace. After they left, I discussed with my husband and then decided to give them a call back. They confirmed with me over the phone that there was nothing wrong with my kitchen and bathroom sink... Despite it still not draining. I was going to go with them until they made a comment about they would only work on my house as long as it did not smell of marijuana (we're not even smokers). Ironic, as the man that was out to my house reeked of cigarettes. I decided to cancel my Scheduling to get some more quotes. I got two more quotes to be exact. Both of the other quotes that I got, confirmed there was something wrong with my kitchen and bathroom sink. Their quotes were obviously higher than Dotson heating and plumbing because they were charging me for a major fix that Dotson heating and plumbing overlooked. Overall, I'm so glad I chose not to go with them. The lady I spoke with over the phone was very polite. But they're overall manner and insult on my house and my husband was extremely rude. They overlooked an extreme issue that could've caused me a bigger issue in the future. Will pay more money any day for someone to come out and give me an honest quote and honest work.
