However, we found out during our first few pediatrician visits that our baby was actually losing weight instead of gaining the expected 1oz/day. Baby was latching, but constantly kept falling asleep at the breast and thus wasn't eating as much as she needed to. Our pediatrician recommended Debra as a local lactation consultant and we couldn't be happier! Debra was very easy to connect with and she has honestly been a life saver. From the first moment we exchanged messages she was so helpful, thorough and enthusiastic and supportive. Before even meeting Debra in person we had a FaceTime session with her and she immediately saw a few issues with the way we were breastfeeding and gave us real time instructions/tips on how to improve latching/feeding and they worked! After our first in-person meeting with Debra, she drafted up a game plan for us for a baby feeding "boot camp" where we needed to temporarily supplement breast milk with formula both via bottle feeding in order to get the baby's weight up so she'd stay awake during breastfeeding. She walked us through every step and was so responsive to texts and the portal at all hours of the day. Debra kept following up to see how things were going and she does not give up! She was so optimistic, persistent, and determined for my wife to start producing more milk and to breastfeed more easily and low and behold after two VERY HELPFUL sessions we pretty much are there! Debra is like an encyclopedia of knowledge and has the best positive attitude. She answered all our questions and concerns very honestly and was very straight forward, but always remaining positive and realistic. We wouldn't know where we would be without her! If you are having issues with breastfeeding look no further! Reach out to Debra and we guarantee you'll be beyond satisfied like we were!

More Than Milk - I bring an infant scale to my visits so that we can check the baby's weight and also assess how much the baby transfers while breastfeeding.

She's…read morerealistic about the pressures and stress of breastfeeding and postpartum and really works with you to come up with an attainable plan. Her kind, warm and calm demeanor put you at ease. I had low supply with my first and struggled through triple feeding and ultimately wasn't able to boost my supply enough and felt like I wasn't getting a personalized plan working with lactation consultants through my insurance and would always leave feeling a little confused and like I wasn't making progress due to something I wasn't doing right. With my second baby, I found Melissa, who was recommended by a friend, and the difference was night and day. Rather than feeling like I wasn't doing enough, she made me validated and we worked together to come up with a realistic plan to try to meet my goals. She answered any and all questions I had and provided a lot of support. Again, I couldn't recommend her more.

I also had mastitis but my OB and urgent care had misdiagnosed me with the flu. I would have honestly given up if it wasn't for her. Five years later, I am having my second and knew to have her come by immediately for help. Highly recommend her!!

The 8-week Newborn course flew by! Each week was a different topic / different specialist coming in to talk to us! As helpful as that was... the biggest positive was the community! It was so great to meet so many moms who were going through the same thing (at the same time) as you! Also a great way to get introduced to the South Bay mom community with different activities like mommy and me yoga, exercise classes, free baby centric activities etc as well as recommendations for childcare. Highly recommend this to any new mom! The newborn trenches are rouggggh but I always had the Thursday classes to look forward to and it made all the difference. Only con is I can't participate in the infant class due to it being in the middle of the day and I have to go back to work :( please make more weekend classes!!!!

I highly recommend Casa Natal to anyone who is pregnant and trying to decide where to give birth…read more It is similar to a homebirth, but way better and is a nice in between of that and a hospital setting, as it is in an absolutely beautiful facility (the huge birth tubs you are actually allowed to birth in are amazing - something no hospitals offer to my knowledge locally!) and also is very close to a hospital should you need it. (Thankfully most people do not but it was nice for my peace of mind given that I did have some risk factors.) The entire team is very kind and caring and will provide very personal care throughout your pregnancy/postpartum period. They are very supportive of you making decisions about how you want your birth to go, and I could not recommend them enough!

The entire team brings a perfect balance of expertise, compassion, and calm confidence that makes such a huge difference during pregnancy and birth. Every interaction--from prenatal visits to the day of delivery--was thoughtful, reassuring, and empowering. The staff listened, explained, and encouraged me every step of the way. The environment is peaceful, beautifully maintained, and intentionally designed to help you feel at ease. My birth experience could not have been more positive. I felt safe, in control, and fully supported by a team that truly honors the birthing process. If you're looking for a place where you will be treated as an individual, respected in your choices, and surrounded by skilled, caring professionals, Casa Natal is the one. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

The center is BEAUTIFUL and also has huge tubs you are actually allowed to birth in, unlike other (all to my knowledge) local hospitals that do not allow water births. The perfect in between if you do not really want to do a home birth but want a home birth-like experience in a very gorgeous and peaceful setting! It is also super close to a hospital should you need it (most people do not) and while not needed was great for my peace of mind. They also have a call line where you can ask questions postpartum that is very helpful. Overall, I had a beautiful birth thanks to them and am very grateful. Birth is something you only do a once or a few times in your life, will remember forever, and I am very glad I got to experience this with the team at Casa Natal.

My OB appointments lasted for only 15 minutes and I didn't feel supported or heard. At Casa Natal, every appointment lasted for an hour, the midwives checked not only for my physical but also my mental health and answered all of my questions. I was able to get acquainted to Melissa, Julia and all the student midwives during my visits. I also took the breastfeeding class that Emily hosted and it was informative and helpful. Coming to the actual birth, it was truly a beautiful experience. I got the exact birth that I had hoped for as a first time parent. I felt supported throughout my labor. Melissa, Tara, and Charlie attended my birth and were the best team I could have asked for apart from my husband. Tara and Charlie guided me with different positions and techniques to help progress with the labor. After about 6 hours of laboring at the birth center, I delivered my baby vaginally, without any interventions and I was back home 4 hours after my baby was born. They also provided me with excellent postpartum care and lactation support. If you're looking for a holistic natural birth experience, look no further. This team is it!
