However, we found out during our first few pediatrician visits that our baby was actually losing weight instead of gaining the expected 1oz/day. Baby was latching, but constantly kept falling asleep at the breast and thus wasn't eating as much as she needed to. Our pediatrician recommended Debra as a local lactation consultant and we couldn't be happier! Debra was very easy to connect with and she has honestly been a life saver. From the first moment we exchanged messages she was so helpful, thorough and enthusiastic and supportive. Before even meeting Debra in person we had a FaceTime session with her and she immediately saw a few issues with the way we were breastfeeding and gave us real time instructions/tips on how to improve latching/feeding and they worked! After our first in-person meeting with Debra, she drafted up a game plan for us for a baby feeding "boot camp" where we needed to temporarily supplement breast milk with formula both via bottle feeding in order to get the baby's weight up so she'd stay awake during breastfeeding. She walked us through every step and was so responsive to texts and the portal at all hours of the day. Debra kept following up to see how things were going and she does not give up! She was so optimistic, persistent, and determined for my wife to start producing more milk and to breastfeed more easily and low and behold after two VERY HELPFUL sessions we pretty much are there! Debra is like an encyclopedia of knowledge and has the best positive attitude. She answered all our questions and concerns very honestly and was very straight forward, but always remaining positive and realistic. We wouldn't know where we would be without her! If you are having issues with breastfeeding look no further! Reach out to Debra and we guarantee you'll be beyond satisfied like we were!

Breastfeeding my second child didn't come as naturally as it did with my first, and I was feeling desperately discouraged. She immediately put me at ease and guided me through positioning and latch techniques that made an enormous difference. What truly set her apart, though, was her responsiveness and dedication. When I noticed the early signs of mastitis, she dropped everything to support me. She gave me the exact steps I needed to take within those crucial first hours, and thanks to her guidance, I was able to get ahead of the issue quickly. Her support has been invaluable, and I'm so grateful for the care and expertise she provided. If you're struggling or simply need reassurance on your breastfeeding journey, she is absolutely the person you want by your side.

I had low supply with my first and struggled through triple feeding and ultimately wasn't able to boost my supply enough and felt like I wasn't getting a personalized plan working with lactation consultants through my insurance and would always leave feeling a little confused and like I wasn't making progress due to something I wasn't doing right. With my second baby, I found Melissa, who was recommended by a friend, and the difference was night and day. Rather than feeling like I wasn't doing enough, she made me validated and we worked together to come up with a realistic plan to try to meet my goals. I was absolutely floored at the efficiency (I've been to ERs where the wait is hours). To be fair, we arrived on a Sunday afternoon so maybe things were a bit slower? All of the staff were very friendly, kind, and attentive. They went out of their way to ensure we were cared for and received proper care. So why the one star off? Our son's splint was put on a little too tight which involved some discomfort and required us to go back a second time to have it readjusted. That situation wasn't ideal but thepediatric staff member met us at the entrance to immediately escort us in for re-treatment. I totally understand these things happen. If we ever need emergency services in the future, this is the place we'd go.

My OB appointments lasted for only 15 minutes and I didn't feel supported or heard. At Casa Natal, every appointment lasted for an hour, the midwives checked not only for my physical but also my mental health and answered all of my questions. I was able to get acquainted to Melissa, Julia and all the student midwives during my visits. I also took the breastfeeding class that Emily hosted and it was informative and helpful. Coming to the actual birth, it was truly a beautiful experience. I got the exact birth that I had hoped for as a first time parent. I felt supported throughout my labor. Melissa, Tara, and Charlie attended my birth and were the best team I could have asked for apart from my husband. Tara and Charlie guided me with different positions and techniques to help progress with the labor. After about 6 hours of laboring at the birth center, I delivered my baby vaginally, without any interventions and I was back home 4 hours after my baby was born. They also provided me with excellent postpartum care and lactation support. If you're looking for a holistic natural birth experience, look no further. This team is it!

I found Lazara through a Google search & what sold me was the fact she was highly recognized by the mama flow owner (the prenatal/postnatal yoga/sculpt studio) & that entire community. Lazara & her team were extremely responsive through emails & text messages. I opted for an in-person visit & Lazara drove to my place. She respected our requests of taking her shoes off & wearing a mask in our home which we appreciated since our baby was 4 weeks at the time. She quickly resolved the breastfeeding challenges I experienced & the pumping questions I had & provided so much feedback & tips that I never read online (& still haven't stumbled upon online). We learned so much from her during her visit & she provided so many useful PDF resources & also invited me to be part of her baby tribe community where moms ask questions about breastfeeding. The knowledge Lazara shared was not limited to breastfeeding; she educated us about baby massages, postnatal supplements & mom & baby craniosacral facial therapy. Lazara is passionate, intelligent, helpful, kind, personable & funny. All that plus the fact she is a neonatal nurse at Stanford truly makes her one of the best lactation consultants to hire! Lazara is not only a highly experienced and knowledgeable LC, but her 30+ years as a NICU nurse mean she has a deep understanding of everything related to babies. She evaluated far more aspects of my situation than the LCs I worked with a couple of years ago. She quickly provided numerous evidence-based suggestions, including methods, supplements, and more, to address my new challenges with my second baby.
