Hotel Oleana is located a short walk from the central train station, the airport bus shuttle, and Bryggen. We stayed here overnight before heading to the fjords and loved it, for the most part. The rooms are decorated in purple (Prince would have appreciated our room, may his tiny royal sexiness RIP), and are small but well-laid out with a comfortable bed. Our first room was up on the sixth floor and much larger, but the door wouldn't lock, so we had to relocate to a smaller room at the front of the building that had a balcony, which was actually quite lovely because we could see the mountains and the street below. Excellent for people watching! That said, we could also hear the music and talking across the street most of the night, so if you are sensitive to noise (we're not), that could be problematic. We didn't get a chance to try their dinner or breakfast, but if I remember correctly, the reasonable room rate did include both. read more
