As a first time mom, wanting an unmedicated birth, with a birth team that fully supported me and my husbands wishes, I couldn't have done it without them. I absolutely love all the midwives! We were lucky enough to have Hannah and Shelia at our birth and they created a safe space, gave me my autonomy and supported me throughout. It was exactly what we had hoped for. The space is warm and cozy. There's 3 birth suites, the main one being the one we labored in, but you become familiar with each room at your appointments. Everything is done in house, the appointments are well over 30-1 hour in length and you never feel rushed. They will answer all your questions and support whatever birth you wish for. I felt so safe and loved. We will definitely be back when we have another baby in the future!!

I was going to check out two places before deciding where I was going to receive care. I remember my first meeting with Sophie very clearly. She was so warm and welcoming and not to mention knowledgeable I decided that this was the place for me. It just felt right from the very beginning. Everyone there is truly a joy to work with and there is so much care and attention to detail down to every aspect of this establishment. They even have the good hand sanitizer! I am five months postpartum and I look back at my experience with TVM fondly. They really care about the people they work with and make the process as easy as possible while providing knowledge and reassurance whenever possible. Bri, Ashley, and the student Jenna were the most cohesive team I could have asked for during delivery. I had Sierra come by and check me 12 ish hours in and she was a pleasure to work with as well! During the final part of my delivery I felt soothed by the presence of the three and was able to completely relax into the process. Afterwards they were fast acting and reliably took care of the tearing I experienced. During my care following the birth Bri was super attentive and helped me as I learned how to navigate this new world I was in while also trying to heal my body from the birth itself. Jenna was able to encapsulate my placenta for me after I expressed concern that my original plan was falling through. She was professional and even created some art that we were able to keep as a keepsake! This really helped me with the fluctuating hormones (I was scared of Postpartum depression) and I ended up integrating a lot easier than I feel I would have without. All in all this was a beautiful and unique experience. If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing. I believe that TVM set me up for success and helped awaken the innate part of me that knows I CAN DO THIS! Becoming a mother has been the most empowering yet challenging thing I have ever done and I am so thankful for the team at TVM for making it wonderful for us. I can not recommend them enough!

When my husband and I arrived at the birth center, I was having regular contractions (4-1-1). I…read morelabored for a few hours, and then I thought my water may have broken. Tawnia came in and confirmed that it was time to push, without conducting any checks. She had me push for five hours. I mentioned that I was in a lot of pain and felt like nothing was progressing. She kept telling me to push. I was finally so exhausted that I told my husband I wanted to go to the hospital. Then, another midwife came in and suggested she could perform a check to see where we were. She advised me not to continue pushing. Surprisingly, my water wasn't broken, and I wasn't even fully dilated. They then informed my husband that our son might have a neck injury due to all the trauma. My husband drove us to the hospital, and after being there for about two hours, I was finally ready to push. When he was born, he was unresponsive at first and had breathing issues. I believe this was due to the hours of trauma he went through. I also ended up tearing very badly, which I think was a result of the hours of active pushing when I shouldn't have been. They were completely incompetent. They didn't take any responsibility or even bother reaching out to us after the whole incident. The owner, Laurie, was avoidant and unhelpful. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

I've had other hospital births and a birth center birth. This time around, I set my heart on a homebirth. My body had other plans and I had to be induced. The way she was able to support me changed because the hospital staff was ever present and overly hands on given my complications. However, Courtney was there with me. On the bed with me squeezing my hips, tying my hair up to get it out of my face, breathing with me, laughing with me, etc. She is the kind of woman you want loving you and supporting you through such an experience. I immediately clicked with her upon meeting. She exudes joy. I don't plan on having any more babies, but if life throws me a curveball and I do... I'll be reaching out to her for services once more. They gave me so many tips and idea on how to avoid stalling out again. There were 2 at home prenatal visits, on-call support leading up to the birth, support during the birth, and a perinatal appointment after the birth. I ended up having an amazing home birth experience and Amanda provided so much support for me during the pushing stage. Having her there to hold my hands, guide me through breathing, and hold my hand afterwards for stitching was just what I needed. I would highly recommend Elevated Birth if you're interested in a doula for your birth. I've read that women who birth with a doula statistically transfer to hospitals less and also require less epidurals. It was definitely worth the investment to help achieve the birth I had longed for. Thank you, ladies!!

I saw Kristi Rhodes and she was actually great, however the scheduling is awful. I had 4…read moreappointments and EVERY SINGLE ONE was rescheduled. I live 40 min away and when I get a call the evening before an appt they have to move my appointment, it's very hard to move it due to my schedule. The excuse everytime was that they "double booked" the provider. It's not hard to not double book one provider, and when i asked the question (the 3rd time my appts got rescheduled) "why does the other patient's appointment take presidents over mine every time and I'm the one always getting rescheduled" and of course they had no answer except they double booked the provider. When they called me to tell me my 4th appt there was moved from 8am to 11:30 that was the last straw, I can't just move my appt 3 1/2 hours later when I myself have a full schedule. So here I am 18 weeks pregnant and looking for an OBGYN who will take my time just as serious as they take their own. I'm never late for my appts, and I understand this issue happening a time or even 2 times. But I'm 4 for 4 on appointments and fed up.

He's such a great doctor that even my mom became a patient of his after my oldest was born. I can't say enough great things about him. If you want a great doctor who knows his field, who you feel relaxed and comfortable with, who can absolutely trust your health with and that if your child's, then Glen is the the doctor you need. His staff is also amazing! I've not lived in Idaho for many years now so I'm not sure who is still with him as staff. However, when I was there every single person on his staff was also kind and compassionate and friendly. There's nothing I can say that isn't good about him and his staff. Thank you Glen for helping me bring two of my three into this world. Even with the couple of scary moments on my end. You helped get me through it and got them here and they were born healthy and safe. Now they're all grown and married and getting ready to start their families. Melanie, owner of Baby Bonds, and her exclusive dental partner, Dr. Sam Zink, were included on a…read morelist of recommended lactation consultants provided to us by St. Alphonsus after delivery. Because my son was not latching, we made an immediate appointment to see Melanie the day we were discharged from the hospital. We were exhausted, overwhelmed first time parents with a two-day old baby who was struggling to eat. We were worried our baby might have a tongue tie. I have a pretty severe tongue tie myself, so I had been worried this could be an issue for him. However, none of the doctors or lactation consultants at the hospital could see a tongue tie. Melanie was our second opinion. She took our two-day old baby and moved his body through some "maneuvers." In no more than 60 seconds, Melanie proclaimed he had a severe tongue tie. In addition to the lactation package she wanted to sell us, she recommended we immediately schedule a tongue-tied release procedure (frenectomy) with her "exclusive" partner, Dr. Zink. For an extra fee, Melanie would assist with the procedure. We were in luck, we were told, they could get us in that week! Although insurance covered none of this, we made the appointment because it felt urgent and important. Time was of the essence to get my baby to latch. But after sleeping on it, we realized we both had a bad taste in our mouths from our appointment with Melanie. It felt extremely "scammy" to us, so we cancelled the procedure in order to carefully consider our options. But after meeting with two other lactation consultants, a pediatrician, and a pediatric physical therapist, nobody else could tell us with any certainty that our son was tongue tied. We will never know if our baby could have benefitted from a frenectomy because we decided against it. However, looking back, our experience with Melanie honestly felt predatory. It is easy to see why so many exhausted, scared parents are agreeing to this invasive and painful procedure based on the high-pressure sales pitch they are getting from her. And of course, she and her dental partner must be profiting enormously from their symbiotic financial arrangement, which to us feels extremely unethical. I've thought about this experience many times in the nearly two years since it occurred, but I honestly felt too intimidated to say anything. A frenectomy is not always the right decision for every family. It is not an emergency regardless of how you are made to feel. Don't be afraid to trust your gut. Don't be afraid to get a second opinion.

Melanie is absolutely amazing. I breast fed my daughter for a little over two years so I thought I…read moreknew what I was in for this go around. I was ten years older and more experienced, right? This wasn't the case. I could not establish a good latch with my little guy and each feed was very painful. I went to the hospital lactation consultants and our doctor. We were told that he didn't have a tongue tie and to just keep going since he was gaining weight. I ended up with mastitis when my little one was around 2-3 weeks old. I reached to Melanie and she immediately was such a blessing during the postpartum period. She helped with information and ideas for treatment before being able to get into the office and meet. I thankfully was able to kick it without antibiotics. When I came into her office and she immediately got work. Her office was very welcoming and during a time when it's hard to take care of yourself, she took the time to check on me. It still means a lot. Being able to sit in the massage chair and drink a protein drink or coconut water while she does body magic on the little one is so rejuvenating. She helped establish a good latch, did weight checks, craniosacral therapy, helped get the tongue tie revision done and after care, organized mommy get togethers, and has been available text almost anytime. She also offers what seems to be all of the items for fake at office which has been so helpful. I can't recommend her enough. You won't be disappointed.
