This is the worst place ever, they treat inmates as though they are not human, & they have no compassion. I have been calling there DAILY since July first for a doctor to see my son-in-law, it hasn't happened. I recorded all of my conversations & not once was I loud & frustrated. I am now frustrated, my next step, if this doesn't work, is to call channel 8 or 13 news, any local news station. I will call later today to complain. I still want a doctor to see him but that is no longer the issue. The issue is blatant lying & disregard for inmates. The 5 stars aren't for the facility itself, but for a few of the officers who truly made a difference during a really tough time. Honestly, I never imagined I'd find myself in a place like this while on vacation... it was embarrassing, and I cried through most of the booking process. What stood out to me was one officer in particular, S. Nitzel (P#18921). Instead of rushing me, yelling, or being harsh, she was patient and let me take my time. That kindness meant a lot in such a low moment. Their job can't be easy, and after seeing what I did inside, I understand why some officers lose patience but she didn't. Before I left, I saw her again, and once more she took the time to answer my questions and make sure I had the right info to get my belongings back. She did her job without ever making me feel less than human, and for that I'm truly grateful. read more

I had a family member who went here recently & I called multiple times informing & I talked to multiple people and everyone I talked to assisted me to the absolute best of their ability. Any questions that I had was answered and they even gave me knowledgeable information to assist my family member in their release. As far as his experience inside he can write a review . But as for the customer service that ambers general questions and gives information on inmates i give 5 stars. read more

I got booked in at 5pm on a Sunday, I asked the CO how long it would be to get processed and get a bed, she cussed at me and told another CO to throw me in a side cell with 6 crazy people and one small bench that could fit three. So the rest of us had to lay on the dirty floor. Breakfast served in side cell at 4am was cereal flakes no milk, and a cold fake cheese sandwich, and cookies, no fruit. At this point zero sleep and one more meal served in the side cell containing a soy patty, bread, rice, green beans and a cookie, no milk or fruit. I spent until 10am in side cell and then they put me back in the processing area where I sat until 130pm before I got to court. I would say over half the people in there were not able to make a call due to wrong PIN number or the fact the company who provided phone service is in the 90s. It took me an hour of repeating the same process before I could even get a call to a bail bondsman. After court I went back to processing area I called a bail bondsman and got bailed. I sat 5 hours more. Before being finally transferred to a unit and getting a bed. At this point I had been there since Sunday at 5pm and it was Monday at 9pm before I got a bed, and this was after posting bail! Finally got some sleep, they wake you at 4am for breakfast same breakfast again, finally got milk and at 5am told me to roll up. I was out Tuesday at 6am. The medical staff were top notch so I feel bad they have to deal with the COs and crazy people. You will leave this place worse than you came in mentally. The unit I was in has probably 40 bunks, 8 toilets, 8 sinks, and a kitchen island. It was quiet and the other prisoners were respectful. Once you get a bed it's fine, they even give you a comb and a toothbrush and the mattress is comfy. read more

Although the terms weren't ideal and the place smells like homeless asshole, I have to say, the CO Nixel (blonde bun and amazing eyelashes!) was definitely the highlight of the experience spent at CCDC, although I didn't eat the food or drink the toilet water I did have a great experience in booking with her. Her sense of humor and jokes made the stay a little less horrid. I'll never be back to visit but I hope others enjoy the booking experience. All I have to say is DONT GET CLOSE TO BETTY, it gets a little ashy around her! #burninbetty read more

The employees here are the real criminals and should seriously be investigated by Federal Authorities. My jewelry was stolen by their employees, when I complained I was denied access to my cell phone and thrown into a detox cell. The floor was full of puke and urine and they take away your shoes -- seemingly just to humiliate you. Apparently theft by jail employees is a common thing there as I was told by several working girls. One had her jewelry stolen several months before. Another one saw staff putting her jewelry in the wrong bag and had to complain several times until they finally put it with her belongings. The temperature is adjusted to please 350lbs body builders -- for the rest of you they'll freeze you to death but refuse to provide proper clothing or a blanket. I was denied of so many civil rights I don't even know where to begin. Lies and lies, refusing to let you see medical professionals , staff laughing at you. And for the grand finale - they threw away my underwear saying "they'll go for donation". They unnecessarily keep you there for days, taking their sweet time to proc things and inflate their budget. Please have some TV channel or serious newspaper investigate the unlawfulness behavior of this place. read more

Now I've never been here before. Didn't know what to expect as things have evolved with our judicial system and how they go about doing things, if a loved one has been incarcerated. So we needed to come in and get registered to set an appointment for a visitation. The staff was friendly, efficient, and quickly streamlined our process. You register, then after your registered, you go over to the kiosk find your inmate, and set up your visitation appointment. We were in and out in about 10 minutes. A 12 hour hold for an innocent girl becomes 12 hours plus 3 hours for a Pretrial plus 4 hours for them to put the Own Recognizance in the system. Plus 24 hours for release. Nobody but Malik from Pretrial was willing to provide any good information on what to expect. And I have to call every two hours just to check on her. She has been in custody for 28 hours and still has 13 hours to go. Even on the short term, it has been unbearable. Bear in mind that innocent people also can be wrongfully accused and put through this. The inefficiency of this place is atrocious. read more

Got invited to stay for a few nights. staff was nice and kept the bathrooms clean also got to hang with all my friends. a couple of them got into some physical fights but the staff new how to handle it. Breakfast buffet was by far my favorite. I do get scared when I'm alone so it was nice to have some company in the shower. Wow, came here completely on a false charge for a domestic violence dispute. How the cops decide to arrest the wife instead of the husband because he hit his head on the stove and has a "visible' injury blows my mind. Hmmm.. let me call the cops so they can come arrest ME. Yea that makes sense right? Anyways, they bring you to their intake area, have a nasty nurse check you who completely makes you feel like an idiot. If you take medication, don't plan on every getting it. You might die before you get it. They shackle your waist, put you in handcuffs, take your shoes and give you nasty sandals and then.. move you to another area. Yay! Now you get to sit on a steel cold bench with your feet on the ground, facing forward, freezing your butt off. They literally keep the place at 55 degrees. I mean the prostitutes where blue from being so cold cause they barley wear any clothing of course. I guess I was lucky to have jeans on and a T shirt, but it was still freezing. So, for hours on end, you get to sit and sit and sit. They serve you "breakfast" at 3am. Which consisted of mush that tasted like dog food and baby food rolled into one with a nice piece of dry wheat bread. Then, they move you again. YAY. This time to a concrete room with two benches and about 30 to 40 females. It is so dirty and the females literally have to lay on each other and cuddle because it is so freezing. There is a phone in there if you are lucky to know any phone numbers to call on it. They let you write down 3 phone numbers, so make sure to plan that out if you ever plan on visiting here. Then you get dinner or was it lunch at 11am and then 3pm. I don't know. It was all so disgusting. I asked for a nurse on several occasions because I wear one-a-day contacts and had been crying for about 2 days and my eyes were pussing and blurry. All I wanted was my damn glasses, did they care. NOPE. The officers will treat you like a piece of crap even if you are a model inmate and have reasonable requests. They don't care if you are blind or care about anything other than liabilities to themselves. Well then, they will eventually move you back to the intake area. I have no idea why. I guess just to torture you. I never got upstairs which is where you would get a bed, and I was not wasted so I could not sleep on the concrete floor or sitting up on a bench at all like many of the women there. They never told me I could get out on bail. I had no idea what jail was like other than watching Orange is the New Black. So I completely overstayed my welcome without even knowing it. I finally figured it out and got myself released. When you walk out be prepared to be in the middle of downtown Vegas feeling smelly and starving. Wow. I do have to say that the girls where all very nice. Most of them were on heroin, got caught prostituting or were there on traffic charges. There was one young girl that was there cause she had killed her mother with her boyfriend.. WTF. Most all of them were pro's and knew the system very well. I learned a lot about what it takes to be a prostitute, what terms they use and what a "track" is. I guess this is a good system for actual criminals. Cause you know if you do actually commit a real crime, I guess you should be tortured. I never plan to visit this place again and you shouldn't either. If anything, it gave me some insight as to how the system works. Most people that work there did not seem happy at all and I have no idea why anyone would even want to subject themselves to that. Got arrested at caesers palace for minor drug possession and got taken to the Clark county detention center. The officers processing me were respectful and informed me of the process. I was released a few hours later. I have only good things to say about the staff there as they took care of me and treated me well. This institute started using Securis telephone company which I have found is very preditory before I even gave them a dime. Unfortunately my loved ones is in custody till a rehab has an open bed. So until then to communicate with him I was using IC solutions which calling rates were about 21¢ a minute. They just changed carriers to Securis technologies. I got my first collect call from my partner saying they would give up to 15 mins of talk for a charge of 14.99. Unfortunately I had $5 to my name. All my money in my life was $5 including my savings, or lack thereof, my retirement, that's it. $5. This Fuc in company then days later promotes when my lover calls to connect me with him for now only 10 minutes for 14.99. So a day ago it was 15 minutes now it's down to 10. Meanwhile while I try to balance living off of nothing while I wait for more work I'm getting only love of my life the one thing keeping me happy in my destitute as well as his As-s raped by this company. SHAME. How the hell is anyone supposed to rehabilitate in these conditions. Family & incarcerated are both punished. This is wrong an you can blame the Trump administration for blocking the Obama's administration relief for this issue with the FCC. Accommodations were modest, food was what wold be expected in similar establishments. Service was lackluster and in need of improvement. The ambient temperature was cold and lighting was very industrial. Overall not the best experience if more than one night is needed. I would recommend staying out of trouble and avoiding the complementary stay. read more

I stayed here on 8/14/10. Like the other reviewers say, the food is AWFUL, the accommodations are CRAP, and the ambiance leaves MUCH to be desired. What the other reviewer didn't mention is that the staff is rude beyond belief, and will make you feel like less than a speck of fly shit on a piece of dog shit. No matter how polite you are, it will not serve you one bit...so I recommend venting your anger by voicing your complaints. Once I voiced my complaints, I was immediately surrounded and attended to by a host of staffers, who led me away into a more private room, where my only company was two crackheads and a drunken barefooted prostitute. But these new accommodations pleased me even less than the old ones. Thankfully, all it took was 4 hours of inconsolable weeping before they upgraded my room to a larger shared suite. This new room was similarly lacking in ambiance and decor, but at least the company was good. Say what you will about the CCDC's amenities -- the place is ALWAYS packed! And not with just the regular Vegas nightclub crowd, either; during my stay I met a fascinating array of prostitutes, strippers and crackheads. (OK, maybe it WAS the regular Vegas nightclub crowd, now that I think about it.) The highlight of my experience was befriending a genial middle-aged Asian stripper with a distinctive deformity whereby her hands were missing several fingers, so that they resembled lobster claws. "You dancer?" she asked me. "No," I replied. "Why no?! You so preeeeetty!" "I'd LIKE to be a dancer," I answered honestly; "I know the money's great... but I'm the world's WORST dancer, and I'd be laughed out of the club!" "No honey; it eeeeeasy! I show you!" And so it came to pass that I was the recipient of a lap dance in the holding tank of the CCDC by a lobster-clawed middle-aged Asian woman who had been arrested on charges of domestic violence (she beat up her husband, LOL). Amazing! "Where did you say you danced again? Spearmint Rhino?!" I found this hard to believe, since supposedly those are the hottest dancers in Vegas. "Yeah, Spearmint Rhino," she said...but then explained that they only let her dance til 9pm, then made her leave til 3am, when she was allowed back in the club. During those intervening hours, she would sometimes go dance at a less discriminating club. Like the one in the holding tank at the CCDC! Five stars for the lap dance, five stars for the company...but zero stars for everything else. With any luck, I will NOT be returning to this establishment! read more

Vegas has better lodging than the county jail, but if the Las Vegas Metro Police have decided you won't be able to book another room, you'll probably end up spending at least 1-3 nights here before you get to see a judge and ask to be released. While you're here, the food will be awful, the bedding will be hard, the cells will likely be crowded, and the smell will be pretty bad. But a piece of advice: keep your mouth shut and bear it the best you can. Complaints will pretty much result in things getting worse. You lost most of your rights the minute you entered the jail -- that's just the way it is, so there's not much point arguing about it. Argument will likely get you a restraint chair or a solitary cell. And don't bother arguing about how you are "innocent until proven guilty". While that is theoretically true in America, in a jail, you are controlled (like cattle) until you are proven innocent-enough to be released. That said, compared to east coast city jails, this place is pretty clean. You probably won't walk out of here with a disease that no one in the western world has heard of in the last 100 years (Philly and NYC jails can't say that). So be thankful for the smallest of favors while you are sitting here miserable. Bottom line: this place sucks and it's supposed to. The county wants to encourage you to never come back. read more

I had the unfortunate luck of having to stay at ccdc for some time. First time being in trouble, and my crime was refusing to snitch which is conspiracy. While I was there I witnessed a male officer throw a pregnant girl around the pod because she had an extra pillow! Which was obviously given to her by the nurse for having a belly, the moron couldn't see. After he was finished holding her with force against the wall and screaming in her face she was finally able to cry out the words " I'm pregnant, the nurse gave me the pillow." We all watched in horror. I also experienced a man dying during breakfast because he choked to death and none of the CO's got up to help him. Before I was housed I was in booking for 4 days. I went to court with this poor girl wearing a dress on her period. She asked the CO for a pad for two days with no luck. When we made it to court she had blood dripping down her legs and there was blood all over, so bad the judge got extremely upset and yelled at one of the COs to go help her get cleaned up. I was in a booking cell with about 16 other people when the room was meant for 6 or 7. CCDC is actually known to be one of the jails in the US. You would think knowing that would motivate the staff to get their shit together because they are at a point where they are making too many mistakes and even though they believe they are untouchable, they are most definitely not. I have half a mind to call news channels about the abuse and neglect, luckily I know of about 200 people already on top of that mission. Also the people that work in visitation will cancel your visit for looking in the wrong direction if you are a former inmate. read more

The place was extremely dirty the staff and officers at this place are a joke very unhelpful not one person would give me the time of day was left in booking for 3 days no shower bed or phone calls because my pin wasnt working for the phone and nobody seemed to know anything that was going on. This has to be the worst jail experience of my life, dogs are treated better in a kennel. You get no blanket, pillow or even a sheet, and no way to brush your teeth. I was with an inmate that had epilepsy and did not have medicine, they ignored him even when he was having a seizure. I know that inmates are there for something they supposedly committed, but what happened to innocent until proven guilty?? Correction officers ignore everyone's questions and treat people like crap. I got released at 1pm one afternoon and they actually let me out of jail at 2 am. This is a filthy jail, I just thank God that I did not have a open wound or I would have caught a disease in that place. read more

Going to jail is never going to be an activity one willingly is eager to participate in. It was a nightmare of course for all obvious reasons. That being said,, i wanna send a shout out to the day shift in the medical isolation area. Right when they started in the morning and saw i was still there after another long night,, they followed through with a promise to get to the bottom of my release and i was out less than 2 hours later. Food is miserable, staff is surly & non-smiling, beds are uncomfortable. Would be more comfortable sleeping in the backseat of an old Ford Pinto parked in a 7-Eleven parking lot. Check-in and check-out takes literally hours. Room service - not available. Linens are only changed weekly. A non-smoking property. No turn-down service or mints on the pillow. An AirBnB room at your grandma's nursing home would be a huge step-up. Reservations are not only un-necessary; they're not recommended. read more

The best thing about leaving was the law office directly across the street from the Exit. I walked in around midnight and the lawyer was still working, He let me use a phone, got some fresh water and he even gave me a free cigarette. I keep going back to visit this place because the great food. I love the hard boiled eggs. If you go visit this place make sure you stay long enough for mexican food. Cold corn tortillas are yummy. I totally recommend staying in this jail. Cant beat the free phone calls while in booking. Make sure you start a fight or argue with the C.Os while in the holding tank so you can take full advantage of the free phone calls. If you piss off the C.Os they will leave you down in booking but the jokes on them as you will be enjoying free phone calls for a extra night read more
