Each time I pay the 60% I get an additional bill from River Valley for almost $600.00. The office manager "Christine" has told me that they have she has to bill with another name for in network. Today she told me she would cancel my next appointment rather than take care of the ongoing "out of network" dilemma. Be careful in choosing this practice for your dental needs. It is more like a car dealership and the office manager is definitely not an asset to the practice or the patients who have trusted their dental needs for 14 years.

When I went in it was not busy and not once did the Dentist ask how my day was or anything about me. This Suprised me coming from my previous dentist and being related to dentists that say making a connection is the first thing you want to do with your customer to show you care. Instead I was told there was no other option even though I've had the same repairs done through using gel instead of injections. Which injections are more expensive then the alternative. Instead of giving options they gave the option and said I could leave and go back to the dentist I had before. Not only was it the environment but it my tooth that got fixed had to have an extension which they chose a shade of yellow instead of white. Now I am stuck with a paper two shades darker extension. The assistants and coordinators made up for it with the environment and atmosphere they created however. The main dentist felt like what we call in the business world an "energy vampire". These people suck the energy out of every situation. I do not see how this could be called a family dentistry with these things happening.

The only minor pain I experienced were the injections. I fully expected to be uncomfortable for a few days following. NO discomfort. NO swelling. Took a couple of ibuprofen same day as surgery and the next as a precaution. Honestly, I don't think I even needed it. Very professional operation. State of the art technology and equipment. The approach during my visit with Chattanooga Periodontics & Dental Implants, particularly with Dr. Felts Randall, was extremely impersonal, rushed and uncaring. I chose not to return. Also, the clinic participates with my dental insurance, however I received a bill as if I was a self-pay. The issue was corrected only after I pointed it out, mailed only the correct discounted amount, and told the clinic that I could report this to my dental insurance and the insurance commissioner. As contrast, I went to another local periodontal clinic (near Gunbarrel) where the two doctors truly listened, showed genuine concern for my comfort and needs, and made the entire experience positive and reassuring. I left feeling valued and confident in their care.
