Ventus' designer does have good sense, but it might only be limited to a narrow range of design. Her proposals, which often times looked like either her assistant had done them without her oversight or confirmation OR were overly reliant on one or two expensive furniture brands (Holly Hunt, Baker, Frau Frau) were all either below spec in thinking of our home or above (far above!) the budget we agreed with her at the start of the project. In the end, we ended up following her advice on lighting in two places and one table in one room. The cost paid-to-date for design service was $16,000 - above the original estimate even though none of her proposals met the agreed criteria and our preferences. She says this is a discount and she usually charges even more... She refused to complete the work which was to have included finishes like cushions, living room wall art, etc. In addition, the one piece of furniture ordered through her from Holly Hunt arrived damaged. It was left outside our doorstep by a forklift with no un-crating service - which she could have arranged! The table top alone weighed more than 300 pounds and it had a base too. After a lot of time un-crating it, found that it was damaged. Instead of quickly remedying the situation, she exacerbated and prolonged resolution - even once blaming it on us being busy and out of town on business. Finally, Holly Hunt came to take the table away for a fix as it was sized wrong from the start it turns out (!). But it never seemed that Ventus was on our side in resolving this issue and getting our table back. Very unfortunate and negative experience which she did not help resolve. If you need someone to design a room or a condominium I think she might be good in some cases and for some looks. I would not recommend her for a whole home or even a large part of a home.

Through her guidance we used durable materials that are also classy and sophisticated (4'x1' Ariostea porcelain stone from Italy, 3'x1' Yakarta Bianco porcelain for the baths, with 2"x2" Lavanga mesh floor tiles, Ipe hardwood, Sapele cabinets, wood ceiling & sleek designer lighting throughout). We gutted the entire structure of the house and she designed the interior and did a FANTASTIC job. The selection of hardwood and stone for the floors came out beautiful. She also selected the bathroom tile and the layout design which resulted in the room feeling like a spa at the Ritz. Reiko was always available throughout the project to answer questions and guide us through the job. She is invaluable and we would have had an ordinary nice home without her, but with her she turned it into a unique, classy masterpiece. They wallpapered and painted the ceiling in the powder room, painted accent hallways and painted the island. Bryson was always very communicative as we planned our project, even checking to see the timing of the wallpaper delivery and looking at the site I ordered from to check their recommended installation instructions. He provided great advice on the paint finishes. I wanted the island paint color to have a matte finish and he even went so far as to do extra research to find the right paints that would give the look I wanted with the durability needed for an island. The wallpaper in the bathroom was no easy task but they more than exceeded our expectations. They sanded the walls to ensure the paper would lay nicely and did a great job installing the paper to minimize any seems between the strips. I spent months imagining the bathroom project, and Bryson more than made my dream come true. It looks better than I could have ever imaged! Again, we cannot recommend Bryson and Andre enough.
