Keep an eye on the kiddos because some of the chains are broken so you can walk up right next to the dilapidated aircraft which could prove hazardous. There are vendors that sell handmade toys; I bought a cool whistle for 50 pesos. There's an attendant that roams the parking lot collecting 10 pesos for parking. Interesting stop if you're in the area.

This park is just outside of the Clark Freeport Zone(Formally Clark Air Base-aka a base that used to be controlled by the United States). The mainstay of this park is the salakot structure. It resembles a salakot(or traditional hat). It used to be inside the former airbase but was later moved. It was built during the tenure of one of the presidents to signify Philippine sovereignty. It was built to recognize the Military Bases Agreement when the US military was still there decades ago. During my visit on a hot day, I thought it was funny. It seemed everyone was retreating from the heat and sun and this foreigner was just out there basking in the sun. Let it be hot.. as long as it doesn't include the ignorant humidity of Midwest America... I'm golden. One other thing to note was the Salakot was the countdown venue for the 2019 SE Asian Games. It was a neat park in the middle of two highways. The structure is there with a pathway that circles around the park. There were groups doing tik-toks on one side of the park. There were a few people laying out on the lawn and watching traffic. There were also a few basketball courts. To be Noonish, I was surprised by how many people were out in the park. As mentioned before, a couple of sides of the park have highways separated by fences but one side has a strip of local businesses with street food included. *drool* If I was a local, I could see myself hanging out here often.

Bayanihan Park as it is today was once a long and unkempt park back in the early 2000s. The…read moresignature 'salakot' or Filipino-inspired hat serving as the main structure in the middle of the Park was once in the main road leading in or out of Clark Main Gate; it was situated near today's location of the PNP detachment along Fields Avenue. What makes this park not-so-good are the following: 1. It used to be just one whole chunk of park extending all the way to the isolated smaller park along MacArthur Highway in front of the gas stations, but a diversion was created which sliced the park into two. 2. There are still obnoxious pimps and prostitutes (since they are in close proximity to Fields Avenue) who would bug men for services. Experienced this on multiple occasions when I used to jog in the Park. 3. There are few trash bins; park goers usually just leave their trash behind. 4. Benches are often filled with pairs doing PDA instead of doing something worthwhile; I usually go there to read my books but opted Clark parks instead. 4. Some park-goers are loud so better bring your headset/earphones when you try the experience. 5. Unlike in Manila parks, no one will approach to offer a for-hire-mat, so bring your own. 6. Not many trees and shade to rest in case you will visit during the scorching summer. Now, if you can endure all the warning signs I, then Bayanihan Park is all for you. The best time to come by would be in the early mornings 5am to 7am (granting it is open then), and around 5pm to 7pm. If you will visit driving your vehicle, the parking would be a little far (at the jeepney terminal); no parking on any side of the park. And, you have to bring your own liquids or snack just in case you get all hungry and tired since there are few options near the park unless crossing the busy-Philippine roads is not a problem for you since the gas stations have mini cafes.

There's a small parking area for cars, and the area is easily accessible by cab or jeep. It's near the end of Upper Session Road and nearby Camp John Hay and Baguio Country Club.

Post-class hours, pre-class hours, and sometimes even during class hours, you'll find college me here. To say that this park is beautiful is an understatement. Seriously, it's almost offensive! Freedom Park (aka F-park) is beyond beautiful, it's ineffable. Anyone who's ever been, can attest to this. But hey, you don't have to take our word for it, go on a roadtrip to Elbi this weekend. Located right at the entrance of the Assumption school campus, the PACEM Eco Park is part-garden,…read morepart-museum, and part-mini zoo. It was established by the school to raise concern for the environment for its school community and for visitors who can visit the eco park for just a minimal entrance fee. It's amazing how this little pocket of green in Antipolo houses some amazing animals endemic to the Philippines like the Monkey-Eating Eagle or the Philippine Eagle, the "Pilandok" or Philippine Mouse-deer, the Flying Lemur, the Palawan Bearcat, and the Calamian Deer among others. There's also a cheeky myna bird somewhere in there that keeps asking, "Kumain ka na?" Lol. It's a well-maintained park so you can easily walk through the mini-forest inside, peek into the pond and this wishing well at the front, and stop by the butterfly garden and mini museum as well. It's pretty cool to have something like this in this area. Makes for a great environmental education trip with family, especially for those with little kids!

I see this place as a quick retreat from the city, a breather from the traffic, buildings and all the asphalt that has enveloped Manila. Entrance is P300 for kids and adults. Any kid below 2 years old is free. 3. Lolos and lolas get discounts too!

Elena for…read moreseveral reasons: 1. the little boy loves animals 2. the weather during that time of the year was suitable for an outdoor/al fresco party She had decided on a theme reminiscent of barns, the countryside, and good old fashioned country living. The Fun Farm was perfect with it's main hall made of wood exuding an earthy feel, wooden tables and benches perfect for picnic set-ups, and of course, the venue was surrounded by horseback riding trails, rabbit houses, a pond where kids and their daddies can take a swing at fishing, and other animals that kids and adults can enjoy seeing up close. She was also allowed to bring in her own caterer which was very convenient as they preferred all sorts of food and got a few suppliers for several kinds of items they wanted to serve, like grilled chicken, lechon, pansit, chicken drumsticks and other food everyone gets to enjoy at kiddie parties. It turned out to be a simple but very memorable afternoon, not just for the kids but for adults like me, too.

Lots of trees means lots of shade so you can actually lay a banig, rest under trees and enjoy the breeze. 2. There's a jogging patch along the perimeter of the park. Then there's one inside as well, which the trees hover upon so the path is quite shaded. 3. Aside from the jogging path, there are also benches under the trees where those who don't have their banigs can rest. 4. Free massage! The baranggay of Pamplona Dos gives free reflexology training and the dedicated are for the masseuse to put these skills to practice and gain customers is at the PVHA Park. 5. There's a well-maintained children's playground with the standards like swing sets, a slide, see-saw, monkey bars and more. 6. The full-sized basketball court at the PVHA Park is of such good quality that it is even rented by companies for their sportsfests. 7. There's also a tennis court which the PVHA Tennis Club calls home. 8. An open area serves as a small soccer field where villagers and non-villagers play in the afternoons. 9. Another structure serves as a badminton and volleyball court, plus a venue for zumba classes at least twice a week. 10. Every Sunday, there are several food stalls selling an assortment of snacks and other delicacies for villagers and church-goers alike. Would I dare say it's the best park in our area?
