I know it's not fast food so we understood there would be a wait. It was busy and we sat outside with our drinks. My husband went to get a refill and I saw a lot of people leaving so I texted him at 1:20 suggesting we move inside. We got settled in new seats. At probably 1:40 someone said they know our order is next, confirmed an item we ordered and said "we didn't lose your ticket. The next time someone came by I asked for an update and she said there's just one order ahead of ours - she apologized and said someone called out. I said we needed to get back on the road so we will just take whatever is ready. She handed me three of four boxes of food at 1:50. We ate and were out the door at 2:05. An hour wait for food. Not my favorite dining experience. The spicy tacos weren't spicy. The grilled cheese was cold and only the bread had been cooked - the cheese inside was gummy and unappealing. Other than the casual "sorry" from the cashier no one came by even when one of the owners came upstairs to talk to another customer. We were practically permanent fixtures in their dining room waiting for food. I'm sure it's a great place and we were just there at an "off-time". It has very affordable prices and lots of customers coming and going - so clearly it's very popular. If you're on the road and looking for a quick bite this isn't the place. My kids genuinely thought they'd have eaten food faster if they just waited for Rifle and they're not wrong.

This…read moreMcDumps (grandkids name for McDonald's), was very clean, had several kiosk to order from and had a huge play area with tables and even a clean restroom where we were able to enjoy McNuggets and some warm crispy fries while the grandkids devoured Happy Meals and played on the giant structure. Far from gourmet but definitely edible, McDonalds seems to be a great spot when traveling with the family. She looks at me like I'm an alien and said you have to order it. I said ok, so how do I do that. She rolls her eyes and tells me I need to tell her that I want to order it. I'd like to order this She scans my code again, it doesn't work and then she says I have to order something else, I order a cookie. She says I have to order a qualifying purchase. I let the guy behind me go ahead so I can try to figure out how to order this app promotion. The guy takes awhile. I jumped over here because I had a 17 min break between the busses I'm transferring from. I no longer have time to order on time to catch a bus so I just order the cookie, she rings me up and then just looks at me. Then asks the person behind me for his order. I ask about the cookie and she looks at me with a look of what do you want from me? I tell her I'm trying to catch a bus, I mean it's why I only ordered that so I can go. she seemingly takes her time and finally gives me the hard cookie. I didn't miss my bus but I can see why they have such a low ratings. Basic customer service is severely missing. Had she had offered even just basic help, this could have been a positive experience and you'd have a customer that would pop in every time she's transferring busses.
