We are in Meeker for Fourth of July and popped in for a band on July 3... While we were there, they were smoking pork and we knew we just had to come back. It smelled delicious... Oh boy, so glad we came back for dinner...we enjoyed the smoked pork and homemade coleslaw and fries... it was so nice to take advantage of the special... We are visiting Meeker, CO for the first time in nine years and were delighted to find Smoking River Brewing. We visited on a Wednesday evening. The only food available at our visit was from a food truck featuring Thai cuisine which was very good. I sampled a red beer and a lager both of which were very good. The others in our group tried the Kolsh. Reports from them were very good as well. I hope we get a chance to come back when they are serving food. read more

We came here to celebrate a life of a lost loved one. I love how big the table is and was able to house all of us to be able to see each other. Now let's get to the good stuff. The food is amazing! Truly, my favorite place to go in Meeker! The pizza was so delirious! The service was very helpful and friendly. Tons of beers and seltzer to choose from. One of the best burgers I've had ! The beer matched or topped bigger well known breweries in Colorado.

Out of all the breweries that I visit throughout my adventures, I'll have to say that this is a little gem. Such a wonderful atmosphere of a rocky mountain town. Their beer is good and I would highly recommend getting one of their wood fire pizzas. The next time that I'm in Meeker this will definitely be my go to for sure read more

What an awesome little brewery. The minute we walked in some of the locals started talking to us, very nice people, interested in how are fishing had gone that day and where we were from. The young lady who helped us choose our beers was very helpful and professional. I had the Two Headed Caddis IPA, which had a great hoppy flavor with a touch of tropical sweetness. I also tried the Duhb Lasc Irish Stout, great coffee flavor! The food is served from the Chuckwagon Grille food truck. Awesome smash burgers that were so large you had to eat them with a fork and knife. I had the Heart Attack burger, which was a 1/2 pound burger covered with cheese, smothered with green chili, bacon, lettuce tomatoes and onion. Soooo good!!! If you pass through Meeker, you definitely need to stop here! Keep up the good work guys, you definitely have a gem of a brewery! read more

We stopped here twice on a fishing trip. I love visiting small town breweries. There was both indoor and outdoor seating. Very nice variety of beers, and we all agreed they tasted great. The service was friendly and attentive. It was a bit noisy inside, but most breweries are like that. On the second visit (on the weekend) they had a smoker going and we all regretted that we had just finished lunch. read more

So... a little background first. I was in Meeker last year, and this place wasn't open yet. I was excited to see that a brewery was coming. I live in a city that has quite a few microbreweries, some good, some not so good. Also, I brew my own beer, so I'm kind of picky. As far as this brewery goes; it's pretty good, especially for a small town like Meeker. Of course, keep in mind that this is a small operation, and in a pretty small remote area. I arrived at about 8:15 PM. The sign on the door said closed. There were people inside, the door was still unlocked, so I went inside. (I thought maybe the small sign got turned around by accident, or at least that is what I hoped.) The bartender got up from one of the tables and proceeded behind the bar. I asked if they were truly closed and she replied that they "technically closed at 8:00", but would serve me, because they still had people there. (Ah, small town hospitality ) I ordered a beer and wandered around. The brewing area is small, but probably the correct size for the size of the operation and the amount of people in this community. I sat at a table to enjoy me beer. Ok, so if you thought that I was rude or uncool to enter the place with a closed sign on the door, I wasn't the last one to do so. But the bartender didn't turn anyone away. She helped them with a smile, even though she was away from her table of friends and card game. My beer was good and cold, but not as much hop bite for a heavy IPA. On their beer menu is was labeled as 6.9 ABV and a 58 IBU, so I know that was probably not going to quite as "hoppy" as I like. But it was a pretty good beer. They have a pretty good selection of beers, most people will be able to find something that they might like. When I finished my beer and got up to leave, the bartender asked if I wanted another one. And although I did want another one, I didn't want to be a total D-bag and keep them from closing, I declined a second beer. (Although there were still people inside and outside.) There wasn't a food truck here tonight, but the food truck comes on the weekends. I plan on coming back, the next time that I am in town. Keep in mind; this is a small community; most things close early and have limited hours. Stop in and try it. Support the local scene and local brewery. read more

Craft brew in a small mountain town? Excellent. Completely casual place and decent selection of in house brews. I did their West coast IPA (drop hopper). Definitely fresh and smooth. I'm impressed. Fishing themed too, which is appropriate for the epic fishing on the white river. read more

So it's 7:40 PM during the NBA finals when the home team is playing. You think, I'm in Meeker for the night and want to check in on the game and grab a quick beer with a friend. But alas, the advertised closing time of 8:00pm is actually lie and the lazy teenager behind the bar gives you attitude for walking in the door when the place has plenty of people inside watching the game because the open sign isn't on. They are totally lame and can keep their beer. I wonder if it is good? read more

We're not beer drinkers, but we ordered 2 pizzas. They burnt both and served them anyway. They were friendly., but who does that? The free chips and salsa were wonderful. But I DO NOT recommend the pizza. Ambience is fine. read more
