I took 2 chair cushions and an ottoman cushion for a family heirloom antique chair in to be reupholstered. I asked for an extra layer of padding to be added for comfort. The owner said he would replace the back chair cushion with a piece of foam. I questioned this because I was doubtful as the original cushion was made for the chair and was much heavier than foam. He persisted and I gave in because I would assume since this is his profession he knows how to replicate a cushion to make it work. I thought I would get the old one back so that if it wasn't good I could take it elsewhere and have redone. Not only was the ottoman cushion shoddy work and had to be redone but the back cushion was replaced with a plain old 4" deep piece of foam that I could have bought myself. I asked if I could have the original back and they threw it away. When we use it the back cushion just slides through the back onto the floor. read more
