We ordered from here on Doordash because we wanted some seafood. Doordash got the order wrong so we called Claws and spoke to Keyon(not sure if spelled correctly ) he was so polite and made sure the order was placed again. I have to add that his customer service skills alone have a customer for life from us. You dont typically get this kind of service from businesses anymore. He really went above and beyond to make sure everything was right. This was the Brandon location off of Lithia Pinecrest not the Riverview but they are the same company so I left the review here. Ps the food we got that was incorrect was delicious. And the Calypso punch was awesome as well. read more

Yelp says it's closed but it certainly is not. We had this food truck tonight for dinner as it came to our neighborhood's weekly "food truck Friday's" event. The only reason I'm awarding it 2 stars is because the customer interaction was pleasant. The customer service may have been good, but everything else was not impressive. The menu choices were decent, especially for a food truck. We ordered 3 menu items. Their "specialty" claws bucket ($28), fried lobster and fries ($12), and finally lobster gumbo ($10). I also ordered a calypso punch ($3). Our friend ordered a choose your meats and sides platter ($20). We were told we would be waiting 25 minutes. We waited an HOUR in the Florida heat. I'm 39 weeks pregnant and our young toddler was with us so we were incredibly unimpressed with this. Our food finally came and for the amount we spent, we were massively disappointed in the portion sizes. We took our food home and sat down. My husbands and daughters food (the lobster and gumbo) were under seasoned and the gumbo didn't even contain all the ingredients it said it would. My food (the claws platter thing) was decent, but really could have been better. We've had better Cajun seafood boil for way less price and way larger portion sizes. read more

I passed by Claws food truck on a weekday evening on my route home from work. I had seen this food truck several times and as a avid seafood lover, I could no longer resist. The owner was very nice and eagerly assisted me with making my selections and answering questions about the menu options. After carefully reviewing the menu, I ordered a side of mac and cheese, seafood rice, and wings and fries. The seafood rice was a bit greasy and contained about 3 to 4 pieces of shrimp. The mac and cheese was sweet as if sugar had been used to make the dish and the cheese was a type that I had never tasted before. Unfortunately, I did not fancy this dish. Lastly, visible pieces of hair were left attached to multiple chicken wings. While the service was great, the execution left much to be desired. read more

If you hate your money and love throwing it away, this is the perfect place for you. I waited over an hour for subpar easy baked oven fried lobster and fries. Undercooked rice in my gumbo, with little to no crab despite what the menu tells you. The only thing that was worth it was the Crab Overboard which was wildly overpriced for 30 dollars. Which comes with a hard boiled egg. Overall I paid $68 dollars thinking it would be worth it. Clearly I overpaid. Do not recommend at all. Save your money. read more

I was so excited when I was told that a food truck would be at The Still in the Heights tonight. First Friday at The Still is always a great time but three hours straight of drinking free rum, brandy, and absinthe without food is probably not the smartest thing to do. Keon and his staff at the Claws Food Truck were very friendly and a pleasure to deal with. I placed my order and was so delighted that they took credit cards! I placed an order for the Claws Mac and Lobster Balls. The food took less than ten minutes before it was ready. The balls were very good. I liked the fact that I could actually taste the lobster and it wasn't overpowered by the Mac and Cheese. The dipping sauce that was served with the balls was very good too. I also had the chance to taste some French fries that a friend of mine had ordered. The fries were very good. It was a pleasant surprise because most of the time, French fries come out soggy so, you just deal with it. The fries were tasty and perfectly seasoned. I am disappointed that I had to leave because I would have liked to try more of their food. The Claws on the Cob sound interesting and so do many of the other dishes they offer. I will definitely keep my eye out for the Claws Food Truck, and you should too. read more

Hubby and I went to the World's Largest Food Truck Rally at the Fairgrounds hoping to eat some awesome food and have an awesome time. Unfortunately, our experience with this particular food truck ruined the entire day for us. We saw the very long line and usually that means the food must be damn good. We waited in line for about 45 minutes to order our 4 bites of food. We finally got to the register and stood there another 5 minutes waiting for the cashier to get situated without anything being said to us. We finally ordered and then proceeded to wait another hour or more. Several customers in front of us were getting very impatient, including us, and the customer who was in line in front of us asked for her money back and was told, very rudely, that she would be waiting another 20 minutes for a refund. Another customer also requested a refund and the cashier guy then proceeded to loudly lecture her about the freshness of their food, items are made to order, etc. etc. Okay, we get that, but perhaps some communication with the customers would have calmed everyone down. We were then told that they were out of what we ordered...after waiting over and hour and a half. My husband then kindly requested a refund and was then loudly berated for asking such a question. He was called "rude" and "condescending" and was also told it would be 20 minutes for a refund and proceeded to take the next order. He then asked another person there for a refund and she stated she could not open the register. He asked if they could take it out of the tip jar and the cashier turned around and started screaming at my husband daring him to try it and threatening to have him arrested. The refund was then given, be the other lady, out of the tip jar. My husband asked for his dollar tip back, as they clearly did not deserve it, and the cashier then proceeded to again start yelling, "oh absolutely you can have your tip back, in fact, you can another dollar cause I have a tip for you", then even louder called my husband an "IDIOT", in front of all of their customers. Furthermore, the employees were also all yelling at each other in and behind the truck. The cashier also yelled into the truck, "I don't care about the quality, just get it out here" after giving the speech about how they pride themselves on quality. We visited the voting booth and the employees there let us know they had to deal with them earlier. If I could give this place a negative review I would. We have never been treated so badly in our lives. read more

Food is absolutely delicious. I have have the signature mango drink. The claws overboard with blue crab and claws overboard with snow crabs, lobster balls, corn. My fav is lobster mac and cheese. I have never had a bad dish and never received bad customer service after my many visits. This truck is also very clean and doesn't give the food truck feel. Staff is very friendly and helpful to explain what comes with each meal. I will most certainly eat from this truck again. read more

This food truck is apparently still open despite what it says on yelp. Terrible wait times and sub-par food quality. Ordered 4 meals tonight (8.8.2018) and was told 20mins. 25 mins pass by and I walk back up to check on the orders. 7 mins the man says, meanwhile I see a few people that ordered food after getting served and walking away with their orders. I check in 10 mins and I am asked what I ordered. I give a name and the items I ordered and he says ok you are next in line to be served then turns around and asks his partner to start on our food! The entire 35 mins of waiting they were NEVER cooking my order! Everything took an additional 25 minutes of waiting... for a grand total of 60 mins of WAITING!!! Unfortunately the food did not quite meet my expectations either. The mango calypso "smoothie" drink was pure sugar syrup and tasted like it was made first and then sat the whole time, I threw it away after one sip. French fries were more like hot noodles, mac n cheese and potatoes were unimpressive, lobster bites were tiny and very few, wings were forgettable, and festive corn was meh. The fried flounder was actually ok. Still I could think of a lot of places I could eat way better at for $50. Bottom line : long wait, overpriced, unimpressive food, forgetful staff. The service was amazingly slow and the food was way overpriced for what I received. I ordered the fried lobster bites and they gave me less than a handful, plus they were supposed to be seasoned with Old Bay, but I didn't taste anything at all, they were bland and cold. The fries were also cold and they were waffle fries instead of the advertised shoestring fries, and it looked as if they gave me the crumbs from the bottom of the bag, as they were all tiny little pieces. They were at TGM Bay Isle tonight. Complete waste of money. Taste is mediocre at best. Wait time was more than double what was quoted and it was not busy. Lobster bites were more like crumbs. Gumbo is almost all rice and shell. Very little actual gumbo or meat. If I paid after I ate there would have been no tip. Never again. read more
