The inside of the cafe is gorgeous with art you can purchase to support local artists, beautiful post cards, and a really lovely space to read, hangout, or listen to music if someone is playing. SLEEK AND WELCOMING DECOR We drove straight out. Thankfully, it was early enough in the day so we easily got a spot on Flagler Ave. and walked over. What a cute place! There was one small table outside with adorable mosaics on the table and seats. It was pretty small and honestly we were too hot to sit there today but it is an option. There is more plentiful seating inside the modernly designed interior. The decor was clean and beautiful. The counters are grey and white granit(?) with beautiful pottery adorning the white shelving on one side along with some attractive paintings on the same wall. Turns out the pottery and paintings are by artistic individuals with autism. The artist who makes the pottery is also the owner's daughter, Katherine aka Kat, thus the name of the cafe. She is the Kat who also plays harp for guests if you are lucky enough to be there then. We unfortunately missed Kat but thoroughly enjoyed being waited on by Donna behind the counter! She knew her stuff and was able to guide us through the ordering of our food and drink. I enjoyed my cold brew with crème and hazelnut AND coffee ice cubes-so no watering down of the coffee!

It feels really peaceful and it's fun walking from one place to the other. According to the lady at the welcome center, artists from all over the world can come and stay here for three weeks, we even visited one of the cottages. I suggest this place to anyone wanting to experience something out of the ordinary.

Located just four miles from the east coast beaches of central Florida, the pine and palmetto wooded environment contains national award-winning studios that include a resource library, painting studio, sculpture studio, music studio, dance studio, black box theater, writers' studio, and digital computer lab. Each residency session includes three master artists of different disciplines. The master artists each personally select a group of associates--talented, emerging and mid-career artists--through an application process administered by ACA. During the residency, artists participate in informal sessions with their group, collaborate on projects, and work independently on their own projects. The relaxed atmosphere and unstructured program provide considerable time for artistic regeneration and creation.

The instructor and everyone there, was very kind and a true pleasure to talk to. The class was informative and laid back. The instructor wanted to share her wealth of knowledge and it showed. She let the participants find their own artistic path, only guiding when necessary. A fantastic experience overall. Like many classes that require firing of the piece, I will have to return to pick it up. The studio owner would like it to be a place for several different mediums, and is beginning to offer other mediums. I'm looking forward to taking other classes as well.
