Discovered this art gallery while walking through the cute little town. They carry several…read moredifferent artists work so there is plenty to look at and wonder around because the location is bigger than you think when first walking in and it looks like you can take classes there too. I decided to pick up a photograph as a gift for a friend of the sunrise on New Smyrna Beach since I personally did get to that beach yet to take my own and she shares the love of the beach and sunrise/sunsets. All the employees were very helpful to ensure I got the picture I wanted, size and style as you could also get it as a large canvas style piece.

We attended the 'hand build a mug' class and enjoyed the teacher and the process. After you make the mug it dries for a few days, they fire it then they glaze it a color that you pick when you're building it. They fire it again and call you when it's finished. Ok, We were looking forward to getting our mugs. But when I picked them up and brought them home I found the glaze they applied was horribly done and unfinished! We paid $50 each, and really put care into making these mugs. We are disappointed to say the least. No way I can give this mug to my daughter for her birthday which was my plan. So, if you are a potter and need a studio and you do all the work yourself this may be a good place for you. But if you're beginning, find another place. Sadly, they can't be trusted to do a good job.

There was one small table outside with adorable mosaics on the table and seats. It was pretty small and honestly we were too hot to sit there today but it is an option. There is more plentiful seating inside the modernly designed interior. The decor was clean and beautiful. The counters are grey and white granit(?) with beautiful pottery adorning the white shelving on one side along with some attractive paintings on the same wall. Turns out the pottery and paintings are by artistic individuals with autism. The artist who makes the pottery is also the owner's daughter, Katherine aka Kat, thus the name of the cafe. She is the Kat who also plays harp for guests if you are lucky enough to be there then. We unfortunately missed Kat but thoroughly enjoyed being waited on by Donna behind the counter! She knew her stuff and was able to guide us through the ordering of our food and drink. I enjoyed my cold brew with crème and hazelnut AND coffee ice cubes-so no watering down of the coffee!

It feels really peaceful and it's fun walking from one place to the other. The instructor and everyone there, was very kind and a true pleasure to talk to. The class was informative and laid back. The instructor wanted to share her wealth of knowledge and it showed. She let the participants find their own artistic path, only guiding when necessary. A fantastic experience overall. Like many classes that require firing of the piece, I will have to return to pick it up. The studio owner would like it to be a place for several different mediums, and is beginning to offer other mediums. I'm looking forward to taking other classes as well.
