The park has about 16 acres of land and another 10 acres for the water that is on the property near the fairgrounds. On the north end, DC Bridge 140 stands out in its pastel blue steel allowing visitors to cross the water safely. On the south end of the park is where you will find the shelters, lots of wooded area, a basketball court, tennis court, and a small playground. Across the street is where you will find the multi-diamond ballpark (closed for the winter) and the skate park (similarly closed). The skate park looks to be in great condition but I'm not experienced enough to tell if they are challenging for riders. They look like they would be, so check out my photos. The park was in pretty good condition with limited parking on the south end, but a bit more on the north end by the bridge. Review #2129

On the east side of Greensburg is a really nice 15 acre park. It features a playground, shelters…read moreand restrooms, and there is a well maintained dog park (Tree City DP) on the south end. The park is filled with mature trees for shade and the playground is located near the paved parking area along with the primary shelter. Adults can easily view the playground from the comfortable seating at the shelter. The playground has lots of pieces including swings, slides, tubes, and a fort. Lots of things to climb on too. Overall, the park was well maintained and clean and seems like the kids who were enjoying the warm weather were having a blast. Review #2445

The playground equipment is always maintained and kept safe. A great part to this area is the walking trails. The wooded area has nice trails that intersect so you can take as short or as long if a walk as you like.

There is also a playground for the littler kids that is conveniently located next to the shelter. The shelter is equipped with a grill, picnic tables, and a garbage can. However, I didn't see any restrooms on site. One of the things I discovered was that about midway up Carver Street, there is a ramp for cars to drive down to a paved parking area surrounded by trees. It's nice that the parks department provided a spot for the parents of the participants of the sports activities. The park seemed to be in pretty good shape and although there had been rain recently, the fields looked in good shape too without any standing water. Seems like a decent park for the neighborhood. As I pulled into the single gravel parking spot (to leave, you have to back out into an intersection), I noticed that a grill and been pulled out of the ground including the concrete base. The basketball court had a single goal and the concrete was starting to break up at the edges. The playground did have several pieces of equipment that seemed in fair condition and there were benches for adults to rest upon while the kids played. It's a playground for local kids to use, but not worth making a trip to visit otherwise. Review #2438

There is a small parking lot on the higher ground, picnic tables and a really small shelter (no restrooms), and a really helpful map carved in wood near the entrance of the trails to show you the multiple loops that provide a mile long hike, but with lots of short cuts if you want to keep your hike brief. The trails have a grit base and are easily followed. The higher ground paths are wide and in generally good condition. However, as you get nearer Sand Creek, the trails get narrower and suffer from more fallen obstructions and the occasional low spot with water. Yes, mosquitoes are out even in April, but they weren't too bad yet. The trails do have some simple benches to sit on and there was a picnic table near the water's edge for anyone who wishes to sit there. Note that you are expected to clean your area since there weren't trash cans down there. There is a very modest elevation change on the trails, but they are not very challenging for folks without mobility problems. Once the pile of grit near the entrance gets redistributed and some trimming takes place to remove some obstructions along the creek trails, the park could easily be a more pleasant place to visit. One of the fields is maintained in good condition with lighting, bleachers, a concession stand and restrooms. Parking is limited to a gravel lot. The second field to the south is one that has to be walked to since there is no road that heads back there. It doesn't have any of the amenities as the first field, so it is reasonable that it looks like it gets much use. In between the fields on the west side of the park are a few playground pieces (there is a small slide by the parking lot also). The playground has a slide, some swings, and a piece that spins. They seemed in okay condition but since there wasn't much wear on the lawn by the pieces, I doubt they get much use. This is a good spot for a game, but otherwise, there isn't much to attract visitors unless they like privacy. Review #2448

I didn't see any trash cans on site and some fallen limbs were still there with no place to dispose of them. The park has potential with a basketball goal, a picnic table and grill (no shelter or restrooms), and a variety of pieces like a slide, swings, and spinning and climbing pieces. Just nothing to really excite a kid's imagination. Some of the lots next to the park needed some tending which make the park itself seem less inviting. Review #2451
