It's ultra modern vibe with two bars and an award winning restaurant adds to the details that were certainly not overlooked when designing it. Although I personally am not a fan of orange and my room has orange chairs and carpet, that is a minor detail that can easily be overlooked. I know some rooms are orange and some are green. The carpet along the hallways and art work actually reminds me of Coachella which is hilarious since it was pretty recent. The bed is super comfortable and the pillows also extremely comfortable. Only in the middle of the night did I notice that the bed was actually two twin beds pushed together to make a queen size bed. I switched back to the right side and fell back asleep comfortably. The room was extremely spacious and the view of the river from my room remarkable. The bathroom clean and sleek and stocked with the perfect toiletries including liquid body wash which I prefer so much compared to the bars of soap that dry out your skin. For dinner, I went to the cafe on the first floor that serves food until 10 pm and had a delicious vegetable soup with brown bread, as well as an apple and pear tart with crumble served with vanilla custard and whipped cream. The best surprise was the two mini Cadbury eggs on the exquisite plating. They are my favorite Easter candy, and they taste so much better in Ireland than in the States. I was full from the lunch I had, but I knew if I didn't eat I would wake up in the middle of the night famished. Breakfast is served in The Kitchen and is a nice buffet served with options for people who prefer gluten free. I think breakfast is my least favorite meal in Ireland because I just don't enjoy black pudding and beans with overly seasoned grilled tomatoes, but I have been content when I find porridge and fruit. I did enjoy fried egg whites and delicious bread with some fruit...and the butter. Irish butter is just so good. This hotel is sure to please everyone who stays here, and I highly recommend it when in Sligo.

The scenery is breathtaking, and if you decide to stay here, take the trails! Absolutely stunning scenery, fresh air, and a good exercise. Staying in the castle was amazing, and so was the food. I was able to mail my postcards here, as well as buy them. The food was good. If you have the time to stay here, or even stop by, they will not disappoint you! It is worth every penny and moment of time!

My voyage to the Peak started on Facebook a few years go with some connections with some old school friends, and it grew and took wind beneath its sails with time until WHAM...about 30 of us descended on the Peak on a Saturday night in early October 2011 for an awesome trip back in time with the Ard Lughaidh Class of '86 Reunion. What a beautiful restaurant. Overlooking the Atlantic ocean crashing down below on the rocks. Was it a coincidence that this restaurant was built upon the foundations of the hotel where we all celebrated our Debs Ball in 1996 (I use the term "celebrated' loosely...I for one have no recollection of events after midnight). Its a beautiful setting, especially so now that I'm a grown up and can appreciate such things. The restaurant itself is a very open plan design, with a main bar area when you walk in where you can congregate and wait for your party. With a dance floor and a baby grand piano, the star of this show is their full frontal of the Atlantic Ocean crashing in on the beach. Happy memories of that beach :) The food was great given the fact that we were a huge group. I can't say that anything stood out in my mind as being exceptional but you have to realise that given the circumstances we spent so much time talking it was a non-point for me at that stage. We had a set menu and I had a shrimp starter and salmon entree and it was absolutely delicious. The service was stellar, I have to give them that much. Thank you The Peak for such a fun night!!! The location is very nice as there is a fabulous view over the Atlantic ocean thanks to the big wide window. The quality of service was excellent, we felt like we were VIP. We first sat with a cocktail at the bar waiting for a spot to sit, we were privileged to get a table beside the window and once we were sitting they provided us with a free starter made of scallops. The staff was always very warm, welcoming and very helpful, we clearly see they enjoy what they do and go the extra mile for their guests. This is the first time I insisted to leave a nice tip for the staff. The food concocted by the chef was wonderful. I opted for the monkfish dish and this is the best recipe I have ever tasted! The monkfish was perfectly cooked and the nuts-made sauce was melting in my mouth, i can still remember the taste of it! My boyfriend had a perfectly cooked sirloin steak. We were joined by friends this time too, who also stayed three nights. We use the hotel as a base to tour Sligo, Mayo, Leitrim & Donegal hugging the speculator wild Atlantic way as much as we can. The value for money is terrific. We had a really comfy room with a cosy bed. We could control our own heat in room. We had in - room tea & coffee making facilities and tasty biscuits too. The one thing of note is they do things right here. Details do matter. Their coffees are excellent, their gin and whiskey selections are ace and the food is as good as it gets from scones and wheaten type bread to kippers. I had the crab claw main on the first night and this was just superb; perfectly cooked plump crab meat, punchy with great flavour. A pint of Guinness on the side made it all the more perfect. My companions had steak and chicken Maryland's and declared their food very tasty. On night two I had the prawns pil pil with ciabatta. It was fantastic. Proper North Atlantic prawns perfectly spiced, and a great portion. Once again companions went for chicken dishes and again they enjoyed their food too. When one considers the value for money and the super friendly staff it's five stars all the way.

We could see the mountains just from the view at the parking lot. We were able to check into our room early in the morning which was a nice surprise as we could drop off our luggage and explore. Our room was clean, very spacious and we had more than enough room for all our luggage. Unfortunately this Radisson didn't have robes or slippers for use in the room. If you don't have a car, this hotel is out of the way as it is not located in a convenient spot (not walking distance to the city). Didn't drive myself at night but it would have been difficult with how dark it was given there were no street lights. The breakfast was buffet style and had a decent selection of classic Irish breakfast items. Nothing fancy but it fuelled us up for the day. Suggest coming earlier for breakfast (9am or earlier) as it gets busier through the morning and you might need to wait for a table. We got to use the pool and jacuzzi. Swimming in the pool requires wearing a swimming cap which we didn't have so we purchased at 3 euros each. As we got there an hour before close on a weekday, it was not busy at all. We were able to enjoy the uncrowded facility. Overall, had a decent stay at the Radisson!

Ten of my family members stood here at the Radisson Blue Hotel and Spa in Sligo for a total of 8 DAYS!! We enjoyed all the amenities that come with our stay: breakfast buffet, gym, and pool. We also purchased three full body massages from the spa and enjoyed dinner here four out of the eight nights of our stay. The buffet had a wide selection and of course, everything you need to create your typical Irish breakfast! I definitely encourage people to get there breakfast before 8:30 a.m. My family and I would go around 7:30 most days and had the restaurant to ourselves! The staff was also very kind and welcoming. The gym and pool were nice. The hot tub in the pool area was not hot at all so that was kind of disappointing. You need a swim cap for the pool, so if you don't want to borrow one I recommend bringing your own! The ones they provide fall off easily anyway. The gym was clean and had everything you need to complete a typical session. The spa was beautiful. However, I was pretty disappointed with the steam room. When we were there it was not steamy at all and barely warm. I discovered later that when we went it was not working properly which was a bummer, I was really looking forward to using it. There were three of us that got full body massages. My boyfriend was dissatisfied. However, my father and I enjoyed our massages. If you have tension in a particular area I recommend brining that to their attention. The restaurant there was good. The staff was always really nice. Our waitress Made was always really nice and attentive. I notice the restaurant gets really busy weeknights. I definitely think more staffing would be beneficial to accommodate the hotel guests and outsiders that come to the hotel restaurant for dinner. Side note: on the weekends the hotel gets busy as it is a popular place to host weddings and parties!
