If you come here a lot, you know the squirrels are super friendly and they love a good bite to eat. It's one of my favorite parks to go to with my family. Helpful tip: If you are parking in the boat parking area. Please don't park in the middle. They will ticket you. The middle is for people that have boats. The ticket guy will come by and give you a ticket. I've seen it happen plenty of times. There's not a big sign that say it but there is a sign on the far left.

The beach is a quick 5-8 minute walk from the campground, depending on where your spot is. And there's also plenty of hiking paths around the peninsula! I think we clocked in at 1.5 miles, but it's kind of steep in parts. My favorite part about the campsite was the tree cover. There was always shade throughout the day, which kept the temp cooler. It also lightly rained for several hours Saturday afternoon and then again over night, but with all the trees our picnic table stayed mostly dry and our tent didn't get too soaked! We ran into the campground host once who was very friendly and helpful. The day use area was good, with a large picnic building and lots of parking. Overall a nice, quiet stay and well-kept grounds.

I was here recently for a baby shower, and it was the perfect location for the event! Our summer weather has been sort of wonky, so having all of the covered space was nice just in case the event that it wanted to start raining or sprinkling. The bathrooms are very clean - just be warned, the toilet seats are ICE COLD. It's made up by the fact that the hot water in the sink actually works and heats up super fast. Plenty of space for outdoor games, there's a little trail you can walk, and there's a small creek running by the parking lot too. Cute little park to host an event!

Beautiful venue, not sure what the price is, but it seems like you get the best bang by having an indoor area and also their vast outdoors area. Beautiful trees, plants, and vines adorn the gardens. Overheard many of the guests saying it felt like a destination wedding. I did like that you could bring food from outside, and you do not have to use a required vendor. Clean up is also the responsibility of the wedding party, so remember to delegate wisely!

There is also a nice playground with moderately decent equipment. I thought it was cool that this park had recyclers and solar powered trash compactors everywhere. Awesome for alternative power. There is also a fishing pier. Huge access to the water. You can walk right up to the lake so watch your kids! Bring a folding chair and just sit back and relax by the lake.
