This company, from the owner to the crew, fell short in almost every way on a basement bathroom…read morereno. When they initially looked at the project to quote it, they appeared very confident and knowledgeable. They gave a 7-10 day window for completion. Great! But they didn't deliver on that. They started Aug 7, and had the demo done in a day or two. But they left all the garbage in the driveway. They finally finished Sept 5. In that time there were many promises made of work to be finished, but many no show days. The variety of excuses they gave were comical. And that's when they actually responded to calls/texts. The lack of communication was ridiculous. When the crew were here, they were frequently swearing and and getting angry, threatening to walk off the job. They installed it incorrectly so that the hot/cold were mixed up. The garbage on the driveway was finally picked up Sept 5, but the dust and debris was left on the driveway. Couldn't even leave the site clean. The bathroom itself had to be cleaned as well, with drywall dust everywhere. In the end, it took 25 days, when they told us 7-10 days. I would not recommend this company for any project.

Tradesman's prices were much higher to start and after negotiating, Shorty's gave me a discount. CanPro tried to sell me an oversized furnace (80K instead of 60K, which is what I needed) and said that their "standard" furnace was as good as a "premium" which my research doesn't suggest. The gent who came out (Thomas) told me everything I needed to know and was thorough. Tradesman and CanPro were less so. No problems with the company/payment. Installers (2 plumbers for the tank, 2 for the furnace) were pleasant, professional, efficient and helpful. No hesitation recommending Shorty's. Local business!
