As a human who seriously mistreats himself on a regular basis, sometimes giving into the stresses of business + life, and always having that elusive battle with the control I attempt to exert over the life and future I am building myself; and then the 'universe' periodically pulling the rug out from under me to let me know that all my efforts are for nothing - floating at clear float spa has been a wonderful experience. Imagine where you can goto a place where your entire experience has been thought of. From the moment you book and shortly after walk through the door, their entire business is built around making everything in my first paragraph irrelevant. Floating is whatever you make it, but in its most clinical sense, it is the removal of the over-stimulation the world can force upon us. It is a calm and safe place where you are weightless, floating, and just letting go. There is no, or very little, auditory stimulation - so much so that you really notice how much background noise that you process at any given moment. I choose to float without lights (it is optional, so don't let that scare you, but recommended) and the combination of removing auditory and visual stimulation just allows your brain go to towards amazing places. You get an opportunity, should you choose to take it, to see a true reflection of yourself, to let thoughts and ideas come and go, and really just connect back with who you are. In my case, i kind of forgot who I am, and floating helps remind me of that. Give it a shot, I now float on a regular basis, and it is incredible. read more

Amazing experience. It really gave me or anyone the opportunity to trust ourselves, the environment, and reflect. The staff (Sarah) is the nicest service person I have encountered. Super patient, thorough, and kind. I wish I live in Calgary to continue the membership. I was there for three days and floated twice. The inspiration quotes and beverage after floating are also notable. I would recommend anyone to try out this spa! I cannot say enough to recommend them. With love! read more

Our motivation to start clear float spa stems from our belief that float therapy, as a consistent practice, can provide serious benefits to the spiritual, emotional and physical well being to the people of Calgary. You won't be going…read moreto the upside down or anything, but you will definitely have a chance to completely zone out in a futuristic-lookin' pod filled with 1200lbs of salt (yes, 1200lbs)! I've been curious and wanting to try out floating for a while and a friend of mine recommended this place. It was a convenient location for me in Kensington and I heard that they will be opening up a new place in Marda Loop. You can call or book online a session which run for 1.5hr. It sounds like a long time to just float in water, but trust me it goes by faster then you think! And you can also leave at any point before then as well. When I first arrived, there was no one at the front desk and it took some time getting the attention of the one staff there as the very loud filtration was going on in the back so it was a little noisy when I arrived. The staff introduced himself and brought me into one of the rooms. Inside the room there's a large pod, a shower and a basket of stuff if I needed it. The staff was a little fast in explaining everything, but I got the gist of everything. You shower beforehand, put in these squishy putty in your ears to keep the salty water out and I decided to use a floaty pillow that was provided for a little bit of extra neck support. The water I was told was body temperature and I was surprised how effortless it was to float. I'm not going to lie it took a bit of time adjusting to the environment. There was no music in my room (there are in pods 5 and 6) so I was really left with my own thoughts. I actively tried to get as relaxed as possible and really focused on my breathing and heart rate. Once I eventually did slow myself down, I felt completely weightless and I became so relaxed and zoned out that I couldn't tell what part of me was in the water and what wasn't. It felt like I was floating in space. Music came on to gently "wake me up" and tell me my session was over. Getting out of the tank was so hard because I just wanted to sleep I was so relaxed. I wish that the outside temperature was a touch warmer but the staff member told me that they can actually adjust both the temperature of the room and water. So good to keep in mind next time I come in. Overall, I think it's a really neat concept for those that just want break from the business and stress of life. It definitely helps to be in an environment with absolute zero distractions, noise or any pressure from your body and just to really focus slowing your mind down. Give yourself some time to adjust to the new feeling for sure! Definitely give this a try after a workout session or in the evening, especially closer to bed time, you will for sure be ready for it.

I was hesitating at the beginning but then I saw a promotion of 5 floats (60 or 75 mins) for $175.00 + tax I decided to purchase it. After confirmation of my purchase I went to their website to book my session. At that time the Kensington location was still open and that's where I went. For first timers, the staff will play a video so you know what to do and what to expect. They also ask if you have a preference on the music that you'll be hearing; you can also bring your own audio device if you want and they'll play it for you. After that I was taken to one of the rooms where the staff person briefly explained again a few things and left me to enjoy my floating session. There are ear plugs to prevent the water from getting inside your ears and also a head foam that will keep your head afloat. The water and room temperature is really comfortable, it helps to relax and enjoy doing nothing haha. Since I am able to quiet my mind because of mediation, it was easier for me to enjoy my session. Once the either 60 or 75 mins have passed, they turn off the music and turn on the lights. You get out of the pod and there is a shower inside your own room where you will want to shower to remove the salt from your body. They provide shampoo, soap, and towels. I felt very relaxed after my session, I stayed in reception for a little bit before going back to my car and back to reality.

The tank here is like a bathtub, with a tall ceiling, which takes away any claustrophobic feeling. The tank itself is soundproof and lightproof. It's a very relaxing and tension relieving experience. The space is very clean and staff are friendly. They provide a bathrobe, and towels, and all the shower supplies. My only frustration here was that all the products they offered were run out. I went to the bathroom, the soap was empty. I went to get cleaned up, they have bottles of moisturizer, cream, hair serums, spray deodorant - ALL were completely empty. I would've been less frustrated if they weren't even provided. Other than this, it is a very nice space, lovely atmosphere, and very reasonable pricing.

I was lucky enough to just find her by happenstance and I'm so happy that I met her. I could barely walk. My back was killing me, and I lay face down on the table and she could tell exactly where the muscles were the most problems just by looking at my back. She put her thumb on the most painful muscle and said does it hurt here? And I almost jumped through the roof. And then she fixed me and I felt so much better within an hour. Thank you so much Hazel, We've already had three sessions and I'm looking forward to another three within the next three weeks. I feel like a different person afterwards. Thank you!!!!!!!!!

These guys have done a great job of opening a unique business in Airdrie that everyone is talking…read moreabout! The staff member (one of the owners?) working the front desk made us feel comfortable when we went in and gave us a quick tour and tutorial on how things work. (A friend and I went at the same time, but- of course- different rooms)... One person per room people! Not so complicated... shower, float, shower. BUT it is so much more. I thought to myself when I first booked this experience was 'How the he$$ am I going to lay here for 90 minutes!" So, the first little bit (for me) it took me some time to assimilate to sensory deprivation- I also chose to keep some dim lighting on as an option. From there everyone's experience tends to be different. For me, my thoughts went a million different ways until I started to relax then KAPOW, my session was over. I was so relaxed I actually fell asleep laying in 12" of salt water! Note how earlier I mentioned separate rooms, one room is 'open' with a very large float area and the other has a 'closed' float area- still a large float space in the privacy of your own room. Since I have a touch of claustrophobia I opted for the open room and my friend took the closed room and had no problem with it. They provide everything from the shampoo, conditioner, body wash, ear plugs, towels, bottled water, etc. Thank you for the introduction to the floating experience, no better place!

The consistency of clear float spa comprises the most universally accessible and repeatable biohack for flow states (AKA getting in the zone) I have yet to encounter. The Greeks and Romans tried and fell short of this level of sophisticated bathing that cleans both the body and the soul, in my most humble opinion. I find it so exhilarating to enter into a nurturing space held without any pretense by both the staff and the regulars you encounter. Slip off your shoes and hang your worries and coat in the foyer for a 60 or 150 minute float- then afterwards be sure to integrate your experience over tea in the zen room, perhaps in the company of fellow blissed out floaters. clear float spa is the land of winks and knowing nods that say, "Now is not the time for the monkey chatter of our egos- let's be real." In metaphoric conclusion, simplicity and gratitude ooze from the elegantly designed experience like some shaman's brew that roots you amid the wild jungle of life and very gently confronts you with the blocks in your psyche that are no longer serving you. Before, I was floating on and off without a regular schedule and while it was good, it wasn't Clear Float Spa. The prices are incredibly reasonable and allows for a more consistent practice in floating. It has and continues to elevate my meditation practice. I feel so relaxed after my float and love that I do not have to leave straight away as you do with other places. The zen room in the back is the perfect place to acclimatize back into "real life" instead of just spilling back out into the streets post-float. The team at Clear Float go above and beyond to make the experience wonderful from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. They will have a cup of tea waiting for you after your float and a nice personalized message too. The small touches go a long way in my books. The rooms are always clean, stocked and ready to go. This is one of my most favourite places to be. I can't wait for my next float!! read more

There are so many things worth writing reviews for, aren't there? The smell of cedar burning on a cold autumn evening, 5 stars. Rainbows, 6 stars. Rogers, 1 star. We don't write reviews for rivers or cloud formations. We write reviews for businesses that meet, exceed or lower our expectations of them. As it happens, the practice of mindfulness is a personal practice. Clear Float Spa is only a platform, where as the practice of focus and gratitude is unique to how you feel on any given day. However, knowing a place like Clear Float Spa exists, makes planning days where I want to concentrate on awareness and gratitude not possible, but easier. If you've never floated before, this is the place to try it out. The facility is brand new and it feels like a complete disconnect from the busy outside world. You can feel the passion and enthusiasm from the Clear float team as they show you the ropes and make you feel totally at ease. As someone who used to pride themselves on going a thousand miles a minute and staying constantly busy - I realized that I was mentally exhausted - it was hard to truly relax and turn off - even while on vacation! Definitely come in with an open mind and give it a try - and make sure to spend time in the Zen room - a unique experience that I haven't seen at any other spa or float facility. read more

From the convenient Mission area location and the complimentary parking and post-float tea or local kombucha bar to the chill and cozy post-float zen room (and community library) this float spa really goes the extra step to provide a truly unique experience in Calgary. They really prioritize the member/customer experience and are helping build and grow a thriving and diverse floating community of human beings. It's the perfect place to come (alone or with someone) and spend some important quality time with yourself - to relax and recharge. Clearfloat Spa has been my go to sanctuary for two years now! I'm consistently blown away by this place from the top notch customer service to the high end skin care products and local tea selection! Clearfloat has been become my weekly self-care oasis to detox and rebalance. It's a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. As a holistic practitioner it's important for me to replenish my energy in order to serve my clients effectively, and floating definitely helps me with that. I love clear float! The place is so tranquil and everything they do is an extra special touch. I've tried the other in Kensington and while I like that they have a 90 minute option, it just doesn't have the same relaxing atmosphere. The staff there are incredible and they all add their own personal touch with their favourite quotes. I love that they use the Rocky Mountain soaps, have amazing teas and kamboucha as well as a nice quiet place to come back to reality before leaving. Would definitely recommend this place! read more

My first time trying floating was at Clear Float, and I have been returning regularly for 4 years. Bryce and his team do a fantastic job. The spa still feels brand new, and the cleanliness is unmatched. The addition of the infra-red sauna has made the spa even better. Highlights include customized experiences, complimentary parking, delicious kombucha, and phenomenal staff.
