They looked like lovely pictures of real, happy people - not overly-processed and cinematic. This is exactly the type of style I wanted for our micro-wedding. I generally dislike having my photo taken, and I'm notorious among my friends and family for refusing to be photographed during events. In spite of that, naturally I expected to endure many pictures on my wedding day. Even with my reservations, it all passed so quickly and easily! No feelings of overwhelm, exhaustion, frustration, or impatience. To begin with, we had a Zoom call to serve as our introduction. My distaste for being seen digitally extends to video chats, but Joanna immediately helped put me at ease. She is an expert in her field and specializes in people who are less comfortable with having their photo taken. She offered logistical support in planning our day, as well as the emotional support that comes with having an ally who can understand your position and work with you. She is so kind and personable, which is perfect for those of us who are a little more on the timid side. In terms of the day of, she was already at the venue well before the rest of us arrived. In between taking some get-ready shots, she even helped my family member get into a very tight-fitting dress. I genuinely don't know if we could have wrangled that zipper up without Joanna's help! After that, she gave a brief lesson to my person-of-honor, showing how to properly fluff out my dress's long train behind me. Additionally, I noticed she was skilled with remembering the names of our close family and wedding-party members. Joanna is so organized and swift with her camera. Despite beginning our ceremony a little later than scheduled, she managed to shoot every photo we wanted within our tight timeframe of just two hours - with a few minutes to spare, too! She's also great at giving clear direction to help improve positioning and posing. And it all flew by so fast. She had our photos ready with astonishing speed (just one week later!), and they were just as wonderful as I had hoped! These are exactly what I wished our wedding pictures would look like. I'm so happy with the variety of different shots Joanna managed to capture, and I'm in disbelief of how well they turned out. I couldn't be happier with the service she provided to us on our special day. I would highly recommend her to anybody, but especially to others who might be less confident in front of the camera.

In our first meeting, she asked about areas of my body I didn't like so she could angle me appropriately and avoid the usual awkward pics. I did a Boudoir photo shoot with her for my husband's wedding gift and she captured all the best of me while still making feel beautiful in my own skin. Our wedding was such an amazing day and Joanna made a schedule to keep us on track and got EVERY photo we asked for. We were so excited and immediately started trying to book our session. After weeks with no response we finally got a hold of her and scheduled for February. The night before our shoot she canceled on us. Things come up and we understood. I wrote to ask when she was available to reschedule. Again, no response. After another follow up message she selected a date that worked for her at the end of March (after a lot of coxing from me to get something on the books). The day before our shoot we received a message that said, she was sorry but she needed to bump us for another client who was rescheduling their photo session. UNBELIEVABLE!!! I am assuming the entire reason for the contest was to bring in new clients and gain positive publicity for her business. In our case it did the opposite. I have never had such an unprofessional experience with a photographer (and 90% of my job as a producer is working with photographers and videographers). To all of our friends and family who participated in her contest and now "like" her page, I am truly sorry for the recommendation. It is not something I normally do, and something I will never do again for a contest. The cliff notes version: 1.) unprofessional 2.) disorganized 3.) unreliable 4.) Flakey I would think twice before hiring this photographer for an important event!!!

My Niece had previously worked with him at an unrelated job and my son was actually an acquaintance of his. We were happy to hire someone that was known to the family. What could go wrong right????? Well just about everything. My daughter put down a 3000.00 deposit. Trying to schedule their engagement photos was a chore. Dan has been going through a divorce for what seems like a couple of years now. All though I sympathize with this, the divorce excuse gets old. At some point he needs to take accountability for the poor way he runs his business. This should have been a red flag to start with but since he was known to the family my daughter and her fiancé just keep pushing on with him. My daughter wedding is Aug 10th 2024. Dan sent the couple an email in May 2024 apologizing that he would not be able to photograph their wedding after all since his family had planned a surprise Trip to Europe. Say what?????? They have had him booked for over a year! 3 months before the wedding he would not be able to hold up his end of the contract! He did offer to have another photographer shoot the wedding and then of course he would edit the photos when he returned from his trip. They decided to go with a new photographer Instead. His communication is the worse I've ever experienced. It would take him weeks to reply. He ended up only refunding half to the down payment. Originally the engagement photos were included but since they decided not to go with his recommendation he in the end charged them for the engagement photos. Please read the reviews below because if he can do this to people he has a personal connection with he could certainly do this to you! Do Not use him!!!!! It will not be a smooth process. Dan..... WARNING!! over promise, never delivered! My husband and I…read morehired Dan Manning after meeting him at the Seattle bridal Expo. For our wedding in July 2022. He started out very communicative and responsive. Until we had set up our engagement photo session. He was late getting our engagement photo gallery to us, so late that I could not use any for our wedding invitations. My bells went off at that time but my full deposit had been paid by this time and too late to hire new. I gave him the benefit of the doubt. His gallery of past work was beautiful, after all. He had a delightful second photographer with him on our wedding day and I felt a bit better. Wedding was July 1, 22 and we did not receive our Digital Wedding photo gallery until November 8, 22. Well past the 8 weeks. He gave us excuses as busy season and going through a life change- divorce. After viewing and selecting the photos for the prepaid for albums and prints(per contract) he went radio silent. It is now November 2023 and we have not received any response, from text, emails and phone calls. We had to pay in full prior to our wedding day for the full photo package,. This is because of the contract and as it states we are not able to print our own photos. Not only do we not have pictures of our wedding day, my in laws had their 50th Wedding anniversary the same day as our wedding. We did some extra shots with them and the leather bound album was going to be a special gift for them. We are now at the stage to pursue legal action. DO NOT USE this person!!!
