I drive over an hour each way to see her and it's been so worth it. I originally went to see Marisa for extreme anxiety and ongoing sleep issues, after trying what felt like every modality out there: somatic exercises, journaling, therapy, BIT, meditation, breath-work...you name it. While many of those helped in their own ways, nothing truly moved the needle for me the way hypnoacupuncture with Marisa has. From my very first session, there was an obvious shift. Even the people around me noticed. After that first session, the tension in my shoulders decreased, and the only way I can describe it is that everything (physically & mentally) felt like it had been taken down a notch. Since working with her, my sleep has completely transformed. I went from having an extremely hard time falling asleep and waking up almost every hour, to now pretty much sleeping through the night. If I do wake up, I can fall back asleep easily, and I'm even dreaming a lot which I take as a sign I'm finally getting deep, restful sleep. I've seen such drastic improvements that I genuinely feel like I have a new baseline. I feel so much more in control of my anxiety now and honestly like a completely different person than I was just a few months ago. It's been truly life changing. I honestly wish I could see her weekly. The closest way I can describe how you feel leaving a session is like you just had a massage; you're so relaxed, grounded, and at ease. Marisa has truly touched my life. She is genuinely an angel. She listens, she cares deeply, and she is incredibly dedicated to her clients. If she doesn't have an answer right away, she always follows up, whether by email or the next time you see her, which says so much about the level of thought and attention she gives. I don't feel comfortable around many people, but there's something about her energy that is so light and reassuring. She creates such a safe, welcoming environment, and it makes all the difference. I'm so happy I did. When I walked into the door, Larry greeted me with the warmest smile and I already felt at ease. We went to his office and went over a questionnaire I filled out and we just chatted. He shared wonderful stories with me and just made me feel so comfortable. The session probably lasted about an hour and 45 minutes. I left there with this huge sense of I could achieve anything. I'm typically more of a pessimist but Larry made me a believer. It's been 2 weeks and I've made the easiest decisions in my life which were probably the hardest before seeing Larry to eat healthy, turn down cookies, candy, sweets and junk food where that would be my go to all the time. I'm such an emotional eater and this past week of my life has been an extremely emotional week for me and I have not cheated once. The Therapist herself was alright during the session, but i felt no connection as by the end she suggested to send me to another place for therapy treatment. she charged me for a full hour rather than the half hour i spent there, on her paperwork it says she charges for half hours or One hour sessions. I got charged for a full one for only a half hour, no response back. The place i was sent was very unprofessional and horrifying to say the least, I was told it was a very good place but the fact of the matter is it had nothing to do with therapy and more to do with people with really bad mental issues. The place was dirty , the staff was unkempt and had no knowledge of what they were doing. Then i had to deal with a DSS situation that was found to be completely 100% false by the police / Dss. In fact everything that I had said at the meeting was never told, only lies where told by the place i was sent to (apparently this happens often i found by the DSS there), South Shore Mental Health, Never will i go back to this 64 building as they are nice but very unknowledgeable about where they are sending you.
