I would give less stars if possible. First PLEASE LISTEN OF YOU ARE CONSIDERING USING THIS COMPANY. DONT DO IT! DONT BELIEVE THEIR LIES. There are other ways. I was in a bad spot back early 2019. I somehow got redirected to their website while looking for a local nonprofit debt consolidation help. This company has very aggressive salespeople. They prey on people that are vulnerable. I was told sold hard on exaggerated savings. Length of time, I was told my credit will soon start to rebuild... I was not told about what really could and WOULD happen. I am currently still trapped in this contract. I have been paying 400 a month for over 3 years now. Not one of my account even come close to matching their projected savings. Worst part is, while they were settling the creditors they picked to handle first and taking thousands in their fees, two of my creditors haven't even been contacted yet. Over three years!! Not a dime to 2 of them!!! I have been kept in the dark. It's hard to find any settlement info.. very challenging to talk to anyone and when I do, I don't get answers. The big kicker is 2 of the creditors they neglected 1 of them has now sued me!! I had no idea that could happen. I was never told anything about this. I looked back at all the documents and there is a tiny little section about how creditors can still pursue collections efforts. My credit has been DESTROYED. ITS NOT GETTING ANY BETTER and I am 3 years in. I would have saved 14k so far and my credit would be on the mend by now if I had just filed bankruptcy. Anyone that is in a bad position and doesn't know what to do, DONT TURN TO THESE PEOPLE. THEY WILL MAKE EVERYTHING MUCH WORSE FOR YOU. I am currently trying to figure out what I need to do to get out of this mess. I have called and called them email after email freaking out to these people about how they got me sued. Honestly it feels like they couldn't care less. I will tell you this. What ever happens with this lawsuit. They sure as hell aren't getting their huge fee on this one. They make it very difficult to see how many more payments are owed in structured settlements. I have been looking for all my authorization emails and odd thing I can't find the 2 largest ones. I don't even recall authorizing them. There is a lot of shady ,suspect things going on here. How they can justify not contacting or paying 2 creditors for YEARS while they have taken enough in their fees the 2 could have been paid off!!! Is sickening. I am now looking at having to pay courts cost and a attorney. I could get a judgment! Wages garnished! I will be worse off than before. I have to figure out how to finish out paying my creditors outside of this company. I worry they will sabotage my agreements that I already paid their fees on... I mean huge mess. I have looked for stats on success rates. What I have found is frightening. Only about 5-7 percent of people make it to the end with this company. I am deeply troubled about what has gone on with my debt settlement program. This "help'' has likely pushed me into declaring Chapter 13 bankruptcy. A year ago I entered into a debt settlement program with Clear One Advantage. I was paying $867 a month to the organization to settle my debt. I was not told up front that they would be letting debts languish and that they would be taking exorbitant fees for each settlement. Several times representatives called me to ask me to contribute more money in an effort to secure another settlement. The result was that I was paying $1,100 a month in November 2021. That's when I started to get served with court paperwork for lawsuits being filed against me and liens being placed against my property. I called Clear One Advantage asking for help and they told me that I would just have to live with this until I paid off earlier debt because they wouldn't negotiate any more settlements until other settlements were paid off. Again, something I was not told. To prevent a judgment from moving forward, I negotiated, on my own, a settlement with Target and removed that debt from the program. The bottom line is this - in the year I have been in the program they have collected $7,282.59 in fees. A ridiculous amount when you see that the savings I have realized when fees are factored in is not even 10% of the original enrolled debt. Add to this that I am now facing liens on my property and possible wage garnishment and you can understand why I am not at all happy with the way I have been treated. I feel like I was misled from the start and am now facing what can only be described as a stressful and difficult situation. Please, do not fall for this scam. I am a current customer with Clear One, what I can tell you is that it is true you can negotiate your own debt, but, if you can't afford to pay all of the debt at the same time, you are still in the same situation. The advantage here is you have one payment. in my case for seven different accounts. Disadvantage is your credit will be affected until all of the debt to the company is paid. Which isn't always clear. This is not a loan that wipes out the debt. You are paying it down just like you could do yourself, but with one payment. There are fees, but it is based on the amount of the debt to be negotiated. But you can write a statement on your credit report that you are paying off the debt through a negotiated settlement. (You don't have to mention a company) Everyone has been friendly and helpful. I would like more communication during the negotiation process. read more

This is nothing but a scam! I was lead to believe that they will negotiate and settle my creditors immediately and before paying themselves the hefty fees! For months, my online account status showed a list of creditors, each marked as "In Negotiation" when in fact this company was doing absolutely NOTHING, while late payment fees and interest charges were accumulating on my debt. They take 25% of your total debt in fees and all they do is just make a phone call to ONE creditor at a time. I was mislead and made to believe that everything will be settled and taken care of within 9 months, but apparently that's not how it works at all! They LIED and my fragile credit score was damaged even further because of their non action. Expect years of collection agencies harassment and endless phone calls from creditors, while this fraud company takes 25% of your money on top of it all They are prompt in calling you, showing compassion and understanding just until you sign the papers. Afterwards you don't hear from them and your request for a call back is ignored. Wish I checked BBB reviews or Yelp reviews before they tricked me into signing with them. They LIED! I signed up in hopes of boosting my credit report. The communication is very lacking. I was called to consolidate everything with a loan but no one got back to me on the status. By the time I got to someone I decided it would be best to just pay the debt and finish my contract with them. Here is where the problem is: they took the payment from my bank as authorized, then they took their portion of the payment which was a lot. And then they never finished paying my debt. I talked to them about it and they agreed that they made the mistake. They wanted me to give them the money so they could pay the debt that they didnt. Of course, I said no way would I trust you with my money again. So at the end I paid the remaining debt directly which is what I should have done since the beginning. read more

I hired clear one to negotiate 3 accounts that I couldn't pay because of tax issues. They assured me that working with their company would be a better option than filing bankruptcy. They dropped the ball on one of my accounts from day 1. For some reason, their personnel could not read the comment "counter offer denied" at the bottom of the response letter from one of my creditors. I made the payments that clear one set for me and even questioned the negative marks I was getting on my credit report. Clear one assured me that this was normal so I believed them, like an idiot . I paid that account off early and was still receiving negative reports from that account. I then contacted clear one and the creditor asking for documentation from both companies. It took about 5 minutes for me to find the problem that the trained professionals from clear one could not find or neglected to confess to. my credit score dropped from 700+ to 550 i would have done less damage if I handled it myself over a year since I paid off the account in question and my credit score is still below 625 DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!!! read more

If I could give a "zero" star, I would. This company fooled me and started out good, so I thought. I had a large creditor and Clear One Advantage fully neglected to relay any contact to me, to the point I was served with a court summons and If not attending, I would have gotten in more trouble. I was on the phone daily trying to contact Clear One Advantage and NO ONE ever answered the phone. Horrible customer service! I finally took action myself and found my own attorney, he found out that Clear One Advantage has a subsidiary department that "decides" who gets paid and doesn't. Absolutely ridiculous!!! read more

The best around HANDS DOWN So before I start this I would like to explain I did not use or pay for clear one advantage, but honestly I feel like I SHOULD have given something, I work EMS, I am usually outstanding financially, I started school to progress my career spending a lot of money to do so, than covid. It started with not being able to work due to exposure to patients and not having the proper protective equipment to be safe, therefore having to take two weeks off, not paid, from work to ensure I do not have the virus, than eventually actually contracting covid. Credit cards were used, school still wanted their money, legislation was not passed to ensure we were compensated when mandatorily having to stay home and not work. I quickly ran into debt and frustration. Now that we are working and protected to be paid if required to quarantine. I was playing the endless game of catch up, paying credit cards and loans monthly with little money left over for me, and barely making an impact on my cards. So my credit score dropped and panick ensues, as with any form of reaching out to an ad for help I was nervous to talk on the phone about paying for another service to help me and felt they just wanted my money off the bat, well when I picked up the phone that changed entirely. Their service representative that called changed my life and helped more than can be written on here, and I will bold his name to emphasize the person you want to help you, ANDREW BOGNANNI called me shortly after completing their online application, and immediately helped. When talking to him it was not talking to a loan agency, or someone trying to sell you something. It felt like I had known Andrew for years and decided to hit up a friend for the best financial advice I have ever received. He guided me through interest rates and how much I am paying per card in just interest. Guided me through my credit and was honest with the best options and what to do. He was upfront with cost and what they do, he told me how it they work and essentially took my plan on life financially and with credit and really dug into what is best FOR ME. But that is not the best part, I told him that day I needed to think about it, and because of his approach with me I did not continue other similar companies I applied for due to his friendliness and the feeling of him actually purely being in my corner in regards to my financial help. That day I was approved for a loan that would save me money through my bank, at a surprisingly lower APR than anticipated due to the bank knowing me and other circumstances extreme to me but possibly not to others. I did not need his service after all, but this is a rare circumstance for me as if this did not happen I would absolutely have went with Clear One due to how Andrew approached and handled my situation. The day after this loan, Andrew called back to follow up, in which I told him I was not interested and advised him of the loan and my plans with it, here is the shocker which I have never experienced before and made me write this review, and I never write reviews. Andrew CONTINUED to work with the amount I got from my loan, gave me really good advise on what to pay off first with that amount, what credit cards to pay, and how to maximize spending less money a month in regards to what to prioritize with the loan money. HE CONTINUED AND HELPED ME EVEN AFTER I WAS NO LONGER INTERESTED IN HIS SERVICE FOR THE BENEFIT OF ME. This is unheard of elsewhere, no charge to me I had Andrew give me options with Clear One, amazing options at the least, than continue to show they are genuinely interested in helping you the consumer, and generally care for your financial well being, I felt as if I was the only customer they had at the time. He immediately remembered me, my financial issues, and gave me advise and help from his knowledge which has benefited me greatly. I am not saying this is the best Company out there to negotiate debt or find a loan for you, THIS IS THE BEST FINANCIAL COMPANY FOR ANYONE WHO NEEDS OR MAY NEED HELP. If your almost at that overwhelming point or are there, we are human, the system is not built for us to succeed financially and we need help. This company is here to HELP, you can pay for their service, you cannot, CALL THEM. They will take that overwhelming feeling of being stuck paying card after card with no light at the end of the tunnel, and help you, not to benefit them but to benefit YOU. I cannot stress how much of an impact two phone conversations with Andrew had on my life, even after I was not interested in their service. I was about to sign a contract with them when I read about a guy who was in jeopardy of losing his house because his money was tied up in an account with ClearOne Advantage and the creditor was suing him for breach of contract. I consulted them about this and was told this was a possibility if the account was already delinquent when he had signed up with them. So I decided to settle with my delinquent accounts on my own. I tried to renegotiate to settle only one credit card with them and was then offered a terrible deal. I asked for an explanation for the new terms and got no reply and only a notice of voided contract. Rude and totally unprofessional. I am so glad I never signed on with them. read more

This company is absolutely awful. They tell you that they can settle your debts, but they ruin your credit in the procees by having you ignore creditors that would actually work with you. Any money you send to them, they take as fees for their service, but barely pay your creditors anything. Also, you can still be sued in their program and any debt they settle for you can be taxed. Then when.you try and call back.a recording answers telling you that your agent is not available, to email you get a response from customer service saying they will be in touch within 5 business days! J cancelled within 12 hours, and to ensure they dont charge me I stopped all payments from my bank and changed my bank account! They do not tell you about all the fees or that it will hurt your credit more! Even after written confirmed Cancellation they are now continuing to call, send mail and even contacted my creditors saying I was in debt consolidation! They set up a monthly payment $254. Then when one account went to collections they told me it would be ANOTHER $250 a month for 12 months. The debt was only $1500 and to me that only adds up to 6 payments. They lied from the start and tried to scam me out of more money. This company fraudulently represents themselves and charges 2nd air fees of $10, despite your payment being on time and in your account. Claudia Corcuera, manager, tries to explain away fees and tells you that the practice of the company is to charge additional fees regardless of your account balance. In the 3 month period of which I was a member, only one creditor was reconciled. This is something that was disturbing. When trying to negotiate a bill with my creditor, a representative, Mel, told me represent me as my uncle, brother, or neighbor. I was also told to allow him to negotiate for me on my behalf. I also received letters addressed to my creditors to change my phone number and address to Clear One. Upon speaking with Attorneys, I was instructed to halt my contract with Clear One and negotiate with creditors directly. I was able to reconcile all my debts with creditors on my own. I talked to an employee who seemed to be very nice and helpful at first but turned out to be very pushy and rushed me into a contract thinking i was making the right choice at the time .. After getting off the phone thinking wth did i just do i started to read reviews (which i should have done in the first place) but again i was rushed into making a decision, anyhow all the reviews were not good!! So i called back and asked if I could please cancel and rethink about what i truly want to do .. the employee got very angry and was being very rude! Sent me to a manager who was also pushy and rude but i finally got him to agree to cancel. The next few days i kept receiving emails that my deposit was going to be taken out of my account .. I called and emailed several times before i finally got someone to call me back. Advice: Think long and hard before entering into this program. Don't be ashamed or embarrassed to ask family, friends or coworkers for advice. Out of desperation 1 year ago I entered this program, albeit due to my own mistakes and poor handling of finances. I own that, and by no means blame anyone especially not COA I understand they are a business and do help people. Fast forward 1 year latter, $307.35 in transaction fees, $3, 496.60 in fees paid to COA and I am in worse shape than I was originally. I am emotionally and mentally defeated this has completed drained all life out of me. I am not blaming COA I am blaming myself for the situation I am in, but my advice to people considering this as an option is to really understand all the fees and exactly what the process is. This is not an easy way out and you should assess all the options available before jumping right into the program. If you are reading this you are probably feeling really down as am I. I just had to withdraw from the program because the monthly charge was too much and I was not getting quick settlements. Also, has I lay a beaten man on my knees, COA says I still owe them 450.00 for my last settlement. Which I will be paying 112.00 a month for the next 4 months. Here we go with the absolute worst review i can give for this company. Just ended 22 months of hell with this company. They were taking out 867 dollars a month. They only settled 1 account in that time frame. Had a big account they were settling but it was on a structured settlement for 2 years. 50 for 6mos, 100 for 6 mons, 200 for 6 mons, 300 for 4 mos and two big payments of 5k. Decided to cancel with them two weeks ago due to financial hardship and the pandemic. Jist of it, we got debt settlement and debt consolidation mixed up. COA takes 25 percent for each account they settle. What a rip off. Then they call you asking for more money which we don't have. Then when you try to call them, your put on hold forever. They send you endless text messages and nobody responds back to your questions. We finally got 6600 back into our account and we are glad to be over with this predatory debt company. We decided to go with another company that's local and we are saving 200 a month with them. And this company is much more responsive and keeping us up to date on everything. COA and its company can go rot in hell. I hope they get shut down some day. read more

Be very aware and do your homework. Clear One Advantage will charge you a 25% fee of the ORIGINAL amount before it's negotiated. I have been in the program 2 years now and if I had it to do over again I would of negotiated with the credit card companies on my own. Since I have been in the program I have been sued by one of my creditors and had to hire an attorney because they took me to court. I did lose my job during the pandemic and had to skip my monthly deposit for 2 months which dropped my out of 2 settlements. Of all things, imagine my surprise when I went back to making regular monthly payments, I was told that they can't re-negotiate with the credit card company I had settlements with because I still owed COA money for THEIR fee's. If you are looking for a debt consolidation company in the first place then you're already in trouble. I researched several debt consolidation companies. No company is going to help you without making some kind of money themselves. That is the world we live in. I was just making interest payments and going nowhere. I called Clear One in 2019, they worked with me to get a payment I could afford and let me pick my draft date. I stopped paying on all of my accounts, which was just interest anyways. They have settled more than half my accounts. If I can't pay on my draft date, as long as I call ahead of time, they have always let me change it. I've never had a problem with customer service. I see the reviews for the company and I felt I should give them a positive one. Seems like any intelligent person would know you can't settle all of your debt in 30 days. Some of the credit companies don't want to work with Credit One and you have to stay on them but they eventually want to get paid something. Clear One did not put you in debt, YOU did, just like I put myself in debt. My credit was already ruined before I called Clear One, if you have a lot of debt and are looking for a debt consolidation company, then your credit is already on its way to being ruined. I only have two years left to have everything paid off. I more than likely will pay it off early, because Clear One has no pre-payment penalties like a lot of other companies. I have been with them for a year and they still have not settled all my debt. When they do settle, it is for 25% off of your debt which just happens to be the amount they take as there service fee. They also take their 25% immediately before they will give a penny to your creditors. So pretty much they wreck your credit rating and you pay all you owe to the credit companies with their 25% take. You do not decrease your debt by a penny. They do not answer any emails nor does their fax number work. Good luck getting them on the phone. All you get is a computer telling you leave your number and you will get a call back. They are criminals who will take your money and make sure you will never be able to borrow a penny again due to the damage they do to your credit rating. I don't know who in this business you can go to get a fair deal but these people are not it. The BBB should bring their rating way down so more people do not get scammed. read more

20 days ago I filled out an online form on NFCC.org and was directed to Clear One advantage website where they asked for more information. Instantly their agent called and said she wants to talk about my application. In a few short minutes she created a debt settlement plan and sent them to me to sign. I had questions, I went over the document emailed her questions. she got back. I researched online and found multiple ways to pay off debt and chose not to do a debt settlement and pay 25% of outstanding balance as a COA Fee to these companies. Not a useful company. I can negotiate my own settlement with a credit card company. Why would I pay these rude people money to settle for me when I can do it myself. They charge you there 20% of your total debt upfront when an account is settled mind you I received the settlement offer and gave it to them for them to charge me 20% for doing nothing. Then you make your monthly payment on time thinking they are paying the debt . Well they are not 2x I have had problem with them with my settlements because of them not following thru. Also you try to contact them with issues they have caller if and don't answer your call you. If you call them from another number they will answer and once they realize it's you they put you on hold for hrs. Also if you request a call back forget about it they won't call you back. BEWARE!! I can't say how I will be when I am DONE with this COMPANY. I looked into the company; A+ on BBB, over 10 years service, and the welcome call analyst made it seem like a dream. It has been a NIGHTMARE! First after 4 months or so in the program I got a settlement in which the negotiator, in an aggressive manner, told me that I had to make additional funds to cover their fees, even though fees are considered in your program as a whole per the welcome call. I consented because I was bunches made to believe I had no other option. Come to find out, Clear one takes their fees FIRST before even paying on the settlements. This was the highest amount card I had, which meant NOTHING could be done to the remaining accounts which means my BALANCE due is increasing. So we (my husband and I) decided to add additional funds to keep things moving after my credit totally tanked. I was looking to settle my 4 lower accounts so the highest would be the only one remaining but while working with one set of negotiators, another set, who did not let me know they were doing so, settled the next highest (ANYONE ELSE SEEING A PATTERN). I tried to reject that offer but was told that I signed power of attorney release in my initial paperwork so my consent was NOT needed. That THEY could make this decision and further more was told that in the event that I rejected an offer, the next time I might have to pay the WHOLE amount as banks are "not as willing to settle a 2nd time". But because of THEIR miscommunication or NO communication between their negotiations group, I was going to have to reject someone's offer. EITHER WAY I was possibly going to have to pay the full amount to someone. I took it on myself to create a spreadsheet that outlined my bank, drafts, deposits, and fees, then asked what the other offers were as to find my own solution as all others were presented in I either settled all (in which I would have had to come up with almost 10k in less than 5 months in addition my regular monthly payment) or deal with only my next to highest account being settled while 4 aged and balances increased even more. Finally I was able to find my own solution with 3 additional drafts so I wasn't completely screwed. Then miraculously since I am making headway to get out of the program, another part of the company reaches out and tells me I qualify for a loan that can pay off your remaining debt. After dodging them for 6 weeks I listened to the spill and was told that I could get a loan for my remaining accounts. Turns out that is a lie! The clear one rep called and tried to get me to consent to the settlement offer and I refused until I saw the paper work. Instead of the 1 account all my accounts were listed in the loan to which I said NO THANK YOU. For a company that was to save me 25% they tried to get me in a loan with a 29.7% rate so what did I need you for? Just read the fine print and do your research. I would give them no stars if I could. Been with them for a year. $1500 per month payments and $7000 additional requested money which I paid. They couldn't settle my Bank of America debt "I don't have enough funds in my COA account"" so they couldn't or wouldn't settle. I received a lawsuit from Bank of America. No help fro COA. I had to file bankruptcy anyway after wasting a year of my time and over $20,000. This should be illegal as far as I'm concerned. When I signed up that wasn't the story. I have been working with this company for 20 months and they have only settlement my small accounts and charging me an arm a legs on fees that they think they deserve. I am CANCELLING my account as I found a local company to work with and it will not take 3 more years to get this all settled. They are horrible in customer service and will not refund my money back. I cancelled and they still took my money out of my account. This is unacceptable. DONT USE THESE PEOPLE. read more
