Hilltop Rehabilitation and Nursing is not a good place for anyone. My sister is staying there and…read morethere are a number of issues going on. A lot of the problems are because of being short staffed but there is no excuse for the lack of care. Floors in her room never get cleaned - not even swept. Food and garbage that falls just lays there for weeks. Laundry only gets done every two weeks, if then. She's had money stolen right out of her purse that was in her closet - in broad daylight. Takes forever for someone to come to help with anything. Waited for a bedpan one time for 45 minutes. There are no rules as to quiet time to sleep. Her roommate has her TV on loud all during the night so she gets very little sleep. NO consideration for anyone. I must say, the few workers there seem to be pretty nice but management doesn't seem to take any action on complaints. DON'T send a loved one to this facility if you can help it. My sister had no choice.

John Hanson, McCarthy's Head Administrator, came out and brought my sister back and tested her at McCarthy. The staff was willing to put in the extra effort, and my sister has done well for almost a year now.
