I feel like I need to balance out the negative reviews. Yes, there can be a wait (the appt time doesn't seem to mean much) but I blame that on the corporate overlords who don't properly staff so they can save a few bucks. It's an issue with healthcare everywhere. Everyone who actually works there (front desk, medical assistant, provider- initals: JH) was fantastic and provided a personal and high level of care. Avoid at all costs. Was told over the phone very specifically that they could not do the blood draw I needed if our lab paperwork had Quest diagnostic bar codes on it. I said there were no codes on the paper and the phone person said "okay". Drove 40 minutes to get there and was told by a very nasty front desk lackey that they could not do the lab draw WITHOUT the Quest diagnostic codes. She practically threw the paperwork back at me. I came here for a Covid test, and then a few days later for another Covid test at the Walgreens in Brattleboro. One was totally excellent, and one was pretty terrible. At Walgreens, I mad an appointment online, I drove up to the window at the appointed time, did my own swab sitting in my car, handed it back and was gone. All for free, 100% covered by insurance, no fuss no muss. Results available conveniently online, easy and clean. Great experience. At ClearChoiceMD, I made an appointment, arrived on time. Instructed to sit in my car until someone came out to intake me. Waited again. Then invited into the waiting room. Filled out forms. Waited more. Invited to exam room. Waited more. Saw one practitioner for vitals. Waited more. Saw another practitioner. Waited more. Then I get the swab test. Finish up and leave. I paid $139. Not covered by my insurance. Why $139? Because they say I must have a doctor exam before the test. It's a scam. Had I known about the Walgreens alternative I would never have chosen ClearChoiceMD. 2 stars rather than one because the experience was professional and good. But it's the business side that is so bad. I don't know if I would return here for medical treatment if I needed it. read more

Went to ClearChoice last week, where my daughter and I had a very efficient, friendly experience getting first-line treatment for a leg injury. When we arrived, we went through a very quick (5 min) intake process, then returned to our car to wait for a call when the doctor was ready. That took about 15 more minutes. Although they are not set-up to fully diagnose orthopedic soft-tissue damage (for which you need an MRI machine, etc), it took them less than 5 minutes to take x-rays, and once the x-rays were taken, it took only another 15 minutes or so to receive a written analysis of the xrays (I assume the analysis was done offsite by a remote service, but that was fine with me). They then helped us make a follow-up appointment with the Brattleboro hospital orthopedics dept. Very good experience. read more

I advise that you never go to this establishment. I incorrectly answered one question on an intake survey. I said that I suspected I might have covid exposure but did not list definite covid exposure. I did not understand that there was a difference. My insurance who will not cover the charge now, and Urgent Care is refusing to help in anyway and said there is nothing they can do. They said I completed the survey incorrectly, and it is my mistake. I received the test, because I was extremely worried about exposing my elderly grandparents to covid. Horrible experience experiencing chest pain call the 6037979289 number explain the issue we have EKG available. To a layman I thought this was fine. Go in after Ins card CC info in for the EKG after results look ok BUT this is ONLY a snapshot for certain you should go to an ER. This after about 30 -45min which had this really been a heart attack would be too late. They explained the call center has NO CLINICAL experience. Why in the world not have someone who answers the phone CAPABLE to direct you or at least a cheat sheet they can read from. Absolutely unprofessional. Waited 2.5 hours for my 5 minute blood draw. The nurse was super nice but the front desk acted like I was asking them to predict lottery numbers when I asked how much longer they thought it would be after I was told I was next. I went there on Tuesday bc I was exposed to tics and developed a bullseye rash they gave me an antibiotic in the office told me to go the next morning and pick up a prescription for antibiotics needless to say no script was called in so apparently 1 antibiotic is all I need for Lyme disease seeing that the test takes a week to come back I'm home waiting an entire week bf I start treatment. You're better off getting into your doctor or going to the ER. When I came in the wait was two hours. I can be, and have gotten, seen at the ER in less time. The front desk was pleasant but unhelpful. The doctor was fine, but not exactly that engaged. The nurse I saw was kind as well. My child was/is very sick and they did some tests in the office and then more tests to be sent out. They said it would take 24 hours to get the results. I called them back about 26/7 hours later as my kid was still sick and I wanted/want to get the meds to them. Not only were the labs not ready, but suddenly the 24 hours I was told at the office was wrong and it could take 48 or 72 hours. Also, the woman on the phone was extremely rude. The very second I asked a follow up question, the woman on the phone (who did not seem to work at the office, but may have been at a larger call center) got extremely defensive and extremely rude. Any question like, "when do you think the tests will be ready?" was met with something like a rude, "I don't know, I don't work for the lab." They are working with sick people, people with sick kids, they could exercise some kindness and understanding. And honestly, the only reason to go to a place like this instead of the doctor/ER is to avoid a long wait. If you're going to wait forever anyway, why bother? read more

Sounds like I had a similar experience. The women there tried their hardest to help me, but ultimately, the doctor was anal and wouldn't. I came in with a time sensitive issue, and after 45 minutes, they told me it was too late... If they'd helped me a few minutes earlier it would not have been too late. The doctors here - we call them the "Pizza Hut" doctors because the building used to be a Pizza Hut and the exterior of the building still looks like a Pizza Hut - are excellent. The wait is short. Highly recommend this specific location to anyone needing urgent care. read more

WARNING! DO NOT GO HERE! DO NOT GO HERE FOR COVID TESTING! If I could give a negative star review I would. I am a single mother on disability and my son is on California Medicaid. He needed to be tested in Brattleboro VT. I spoke to them on the phone to register him. Because we have MediCal, they said the test was 160$ out of pocket, PLUS Lab fees. I told them our situation, I'm behind on my rent and disabled, but was given no choice but to pay the outrageous fees. He was tested there more than once as per his schools requirements. Each time there were extended waits, up to three hours! AND it cost me a fortune. I then found out that COVID TESTING IS SUPPOSED TO BE FREE in the state of Vermont!!! Brattleboro General Hospital has a free testing drive through every day with appointment times, no wait and no lab charges at all, as well as faster results! AT no point did Clear Choice MD try to tell me that testing is FREE everywhere else in the state. They just GOUGED A DISABLED SINGLE PARENT FOR HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS and then provided terrible service to my child and the people who took him there. This Should be a CRIME. They should NOT be charging people for Covid tests. There were ample opportunities in my phone conversations with their staff for them to let me know that it was free in the state of Vermont. Awful. Awful thing to do to someone struggling to survive and care for a child alone in a pandemic. Shame on them. read more

My PCP referred me here for an incision & drainage of an infected wound that was not responding to heavy antibiotics. When I got there, Dr. Ken Schroeter refused me treatment because he told me to "relax" and "smile" and I refused to do these things while also appearing female. From the below reviews, it seems at least 3 other women have had similar dismissive misogynistic experiences. Also, while I was in the waiting room, a disabled man came in selling raffle tickets to fundraise for the Special Olympics, and the woman behind the desk kept looking towards me and nodding / laughing / rolling her eyes when his back was turned, as if trying to get me to join in treating the disabled man's efforts as a joke. read more

Came in with a finger tip cut off. Young female doctor/nurse practitioner was rude and dismissive. Seemed annoyed with me for coming in shortly before closing. She was impatient and didn't listen to me. She cleaned the wound, and insisted on cauterizing it without giving me any numbing agent! Said they didn't have any??! After I wailed like a wounded animal she rolled her eyes and hastily wrapped it up. Didn't suggest antibiotics.. which I knew I needed.. and requested. I have now been to (Pizza Hut) urgent care about 5 times. I suffer from migraines and sometimes need an IV and specific meds. Every time I have been given the best of care. Very quick. Very easy. Always in and out within 2 hours. Reception is very clear and friendly. The nurses are compassionate and patient. I can't say enough about my experiences. I have had a number of friends who also have had good experiences. It is far better than going to Brattleboro memorial. And closer than Darthmouth. read more

Came here with ear pain and pressure built in the ear from a water skiing accident and was brought in pretty quickly. Nurse that came in was male and not very friendly. After the preliminary stuff was taken care of the doctor came in and took a quick peak at the good ear, and what felt like an even shorter time to look at the bad ear. Quickly said there was an infection and called in antibiotics. 10 days later after meds, my ear was still feeling some discomfort and i was also dealing with substantial hearing loss. Decided to go to another doctor who told me that there was probably never an infection to begin with and that i had a very noticeable ruptured ear drum. I wouldn't trust or waste my time going to this facility no matter the emergency or urgency. Take caution, the doctors speed through patients with little regard for giving true care. read more

The reception staff were friendly enough and my wait time was short, but the doctor himself was dismissive and didn't take me seriously. He basically patted me on the back, gave me some Tylenol, and sent me home. I still felt absolutely awful four days later, so I called back in and was told to "wait it out." I WAS REFUSED FOR TREATMENT, On the day before Thanksgivings 2016 around 5pm I came to the hospital with a bad stomach pain and diarrhea but I was refused for treatment because there was a mistake on my insurance card. Do you want to know what the mistake was? It was a new Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance card with the issue and expiration date being the same day, and they refused me because of that. So I went back home with so much pain and did some home treatment by myself because pharmacy and stores were closed the next day. I thought I was refused for treatment because I was looking Asian and my name was in Arabic. It was a bad experience over all. I had a fairly good experience here. i went in for a UTI on a Saturday morning. They saw me promptly and were very professional. The NP seemed knowledgeable. The antibiotic he gave me worked, although my PCP said it wasn't one she would have prescribed. They do not participate in my insurance, which was a surprise, and their non-insurance fee was $250, which seemed pricey but it is urgent care. Plus there was a lab fee, but Quest does participate in my insurance fortunately. read more

Went to the one in Brattleboro Vt . only because it was a Sat. was very sick the Dr. was very passive aggressive about my symptoms. pd my 100.00 co pay and walked out with no prescription for my symptoms. he hardly even talked to me . he was in the office all but 2 maybe 3 mins. come Monday no better went back pd another 100.00 co pay was seen by a different dr. he was much nicer and diagnosed me with bronchitis and gave me antibiotics and a drs note for work. my return date for the drs note was for weds, well come weds not feeling much better call to see if they could issue another drs note for work for Friday and was told needed to be seen again for this they wanted another 100.00 copay, was not impressed and will not be returning. Not sure if they really want to help the sick or drain them dry of all their money. read more

During the follow-up call things went downhill, Kate was very rude on the phone, when I asked to speak with someone else I was informed tjat she was a medical asst. Well, good for you, now may I please speak with the doctor. Dr B. Came to phone, apparently having been informed that I was difficult, he also was quick to point out that my initial provider was only a PA. What the heck does that have to with my questions? I had questions, I got the impression that that was why they did a follow-up call? Instead I was told RUDELY to come in again, go to ER or to my primary care physician. Thank you clear choice for ruining my first impression and making me feel absolutely miserable as a human being. Not worth the extra I paid in co-pay. I saved myself a trip to keene initially, but lost faith in the end. I wish you better luck with your experience.
