Use to be an amazing place to go with friends during the spring and summer. This place use to allow…read morebeer in cans (if 21+) and no glass bottles, now they tear your car apart looking for alcohol and tell you that alcohol is not allowed. How are a group of adults suppose to enjoy their off day at this business if they can't simply relax and have a beer? I try to go back to this place every year thinking it's fun, but it's just not how it use to be. Staff are always rude as well. Wish I could go back 5 years when this place was at its peak.

The blue river trails run through that park. They have a nice playground, a ball field, tennis courts, picnic tables, grills and restrooms. It is one of the larger parks covering 10 acres. They also have nice shelters that can be rented. 2 hours - $40, 3/4 hours - $60, 5 or more hours - $80. The park is peaceful and a nice place to take a stroll, work out or just relax.

There is a playground and baseball diamond here with a shelter and restrooms conveniently located nearby. The Little Blue River runs along the opposite side of the road, so it is easy to cross over via a metal bridge that spans just below a mini-waterfall (about a foot or two). Because the water flows quickly through here, swimming and wading is prohibited. The park needed some trash pickup and hopefully the maintenance crews took care of it after mowing (better if they did it before hand!) Sadly, it is a shame that people can't be bothered to throw away their own waste. It makes the park less enjoyable for those who come by later. Review #861

The condition of both is okay with the playground equipment seeming to be in pretty good shape. The shade helps keep the kids cool while playing. The shelter has restrooms available, tables and grills too. There doesn't seem to be any walking trails and there is a concrete pad near the playground that has no obvious purpose. Mostly for apartment dwellers, or others who have no garden space, who want to plant a garden. I don't think anyone would steal your veggies here, except for maybe the rabbits, ha. Also is a nice place to walk you dog around for a bit and to play. It's never busy here, being a small town and all, it's probably not even hardly known. But I think its a cool resource and use of the land there. It's always kept mowed and nice looking by the town.

The park has shelters and multiple walking trails, which gives you options depending on how far you want to go. I noticed people taking family pictures at this park. One of the highlights was the water along the trail which adds a really pretty, calming touch to the scenery. The weather was decent temperature but a bit gloomy the day we went, and there were a lot of leaves on the trail. We didn't check the map and just kind of winged it, so parts of the trail were hard to follow because the leaves covered the path, but it wasn't an issue. Overall, we enjoyed the walk, the quiet surroundings, and the chance to bond while taking in what nature has to offer.

Southeastway Park is a hidden 188 acre treasure in the southeast corner of Marion County. The Park…read morehas trails through sycamore filled woods, picnic areas, a large playground and a naturalist center. Best of all, the park is free. The park maintains several natural habitats including a pond, wetland, prairie and Buck Creek. The setting is perfect for bird watching, hiking, running, walking the dog or enjoying a sunset. The six shelters can be reserved (rented) for parties, meetings, picnics for $135 for residents of Marion County or $160 for non-residents. The naturalist center/classroom can also be reserved during certain months. There are lots of picnic tables available on first come basis. There is a bathroom facility available in the warmer months. The naturalists run special educational programs throughout the year including summer day camps for the kids, a bug festival, maple syrup tapping in late winter and hayrides in the fall. The Park will be hosting eclipse viewing on April 8. I was visiting the Master Naturalist Class, a but also took my dog on a nice walk. The park is open dawn til dusk and worth a visit. Plan on spending a couple hours. Be sure to bring your bug repellent.

A playground is located near the shelter and benches and swings are found elsewhere in the park too. There appears to be some paved trails in the park, but some are incomplete and stop randomly. An unpaved trail has been worn from the lawn area to the nearby river. When the water level is down like during my visit, it is possible to walk along the shore, though there may still be some water standing along the way. There were some narrow footpaths through the undergrowth as well, but I did not follow those. The park seems to be suited for relaxing under the shade trees or for strolling about. They have several scheduled activities for groups on certain days and times. Such as elderly exercise group, children's swim lessons, bring your pet to the pool to swim day, and more. A season pass is the best deal if you live close and plan on coming here often. It's a great place to wear the kids out, haha. I think admission is about $4, but can't recall exactly and can't find my pool photos right now either that show the cost, lol. The pool is very large and an odd shape which allows for different activities to be going on at the same time in different areas of the pool. Lay out, get a tan, splash in the refreshing cool water and have a great family day at the pool. There is a large parking lot with lots of spaces available. Life guards are always on duty during normal business hours.
