They do have inside seating options but with it being so close to the square, if it's a nice day there are plenty of benches outside for you to choose from. On the junction of Fazeley Street and Floodgate Street I spotted the colourful signage and headed in for my first visit. Well... Wow. Open, airy and bright; I immediately warmed to the venue. After nabbing a table a quick peruse of the menu, I settled on their meal deal (which is a bargain for a jacket potato with two toppings, a can of drink and a chocolate bar for £4.25 - a price practically unheard of in the City Centre). I ordered my jacket with egg mayo and root veg and sat back to get some laptop stuff done. My food was delivered within 5 minutes (even though the venue was pretty busy) and was mightilty impressed. A lovely large potato, lashing of egg mayo, salad and a healthy dose of root veg - this was more of a main meal than a lunch! I washed this down with a can of ginger beer and a Kinder Bueno and happily sat for another 2 hours typing away. As a minus point, I couldn't spot any powerpoints - but the free WiFi is nice and strong. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the place has plentiful tables, a conservatory and an outdoor space (so you could enjoy your lunch outside if it's nice). I didn't try the coffee on this occasion, but I will be back again soon to do this! I heartily recommend this venue as a great spot to grab lunch alone or with friends. A breakfast meeting in Kings Heath provided the perfect opportunity to use this coffee spot as a morning office. Firstly, let's talk Moseley. It's super easy to find the venues around here as they are all on the main street or off the crossroads. I walked down from Kings Heath (only about 1.5 miles - so not massively far) and was pleased to note that this venue was smack int the middle of Moseley town centre. It's cute and vibrant signage lead the way into a relaxing environment to enjoy a coffee or a cheeky sweet treat. I grabbed a table near the door (there is a selection of tables, benches and outside seating to choose from), plugged my laptop in (there are powerpoints avaliable) and sauntered up to the counter to make my selection. There is a fair amount of choice (coffee, tea and a selection of cold drinks) available here! The two customers in front of me were discussing the merits of various blends with the waitress and after hearing about a particularly chocolately blend, I knew this had to be my choice. My single origin filter coffee was £2.75 (which is about standard for a specialist coffee shop these days). Although not advertised in the venue (well, I couldn't see it anyway) there is WiFI available and the waitress handily provided me with a little slip of paper advising the router name and the password. I am pleased to say that this was fast and reliable and allowed me to do my work without any problems! I had a very pleasant two hours working in this venue. The customers drifted in and out, but the chilled environment lent itself to homeworking and I wasn't bothered to buy another drink while I was working. Being this side of Harborne, works to Boo Boo's advantage as you don't have to take a walk down the High Street which can seem like a mammoth task on a Sunday morning! The Coffee is most excellent because they use Allpress espresso beans from London which gives their drinks a massive edge over most places some places in Birmingham. Single origin is offered though a Chemex, another brew method not often seen in the second city. If Coffee and Tea isn't your bag then I can recommend one of the many smothies they offer, which can have protein added to them. Boo Boo coffee is very family friendly and you can pop your little ones in the play area they provide. This place has been come a favourite place of mine to have some alone time or catch up with friends. Sure you will love it!

I grabbed a salad (eat in £4) and ordered an Americano (can't remember the price of this). I was given a table number and located a table near the back of the venue to await my companions. As I had chosen a boxed salad, I was offered to have this in a bowl (as I was eating in). A small, but nice option which I agreed to. The coffee was perfectly pleasant... but was served with two cartons of UHT milk? Really? UHT? This is totally unacceptable for a place trying to be a coffee shop. It has consequently lost it a star. It was a shame really, as the salad was perfectly nice and the service was prompt and friendly. The venue was clean and has a disabled toilet and is wheelchair accessible. Too many small coffee houses are all heading down the same route with Cafe Costes no different. Despite this, m visit was still pleasant if brief. The interior was surprisingly spacious with low-lit lighting providing a perfect balance with the scorching sun outside. Costes offered a range of Sandwhiches alongside the usual variety of coffee. As with many cafes now, free Wi-Fi was added in what was an extremely comfy venue. Without being remarkable, Cafe Costes still did a job and with its friendly staff, the visit was worth it, if not life changing.
