It was spacious, set up well so that guests could feel connection, and being close to the outdoor area allowed for a gorgeous view. The staff were friendly and helpful and the reservation process was easy and detailed. The only tricky part was the parking overflow was needed, however we were warned prior about the building having several events that day. The overflow parking actually lead directly to the lower atrium though, so the crowded lot in the front worked out for the guests to see the beautiful water view on their way in to the lower atrium. All and all, it was another wonderful event and we plan to book future events there. We appreciate having this gorgeous setting so close to home!

I've had nothing but positive experiences at this location. It is easy to access, has plenty of…read moreparking, is clean, and is well lit. In the past I had voted early and in person. All the workers were friendly, helpful and prompt. Took 10mins tops! This year I chose to do absentee due to the 'rona. Early on they had absentee applications outside with a secure "monitored" drop box to place them in. Now this same box has turned into the ballot drop box. Easy peasy! And with that I voted! There was a steady stream of others dropping off their ballots as well. On the other side of the building there was a sizeable line of people waiting to vote in person, glad I avoided that! Don't forget you can track the progress of your ballot online this year!

Cincinnati is a vibrant city full of art and history museums, brilliant street art, and impressive Art Deco buildings. Things I've enjoyed during my time in Cincinnati (I've written or am preparing to write separate reviews for each of these) --Cincinnati Zoo, which is the best zoo I've been to, and consistently ranks top zoo or top couple zoos in the nation. They also have the famous Fiona the hippo. --Cincinnati Museum Center, a classic Art Deco train depot housing a history museum, a natural history museum, a children's museum, and more. Their lobby is gorgeous! --The Freedom Center (National Underground Railroad Museum), focusing on the enslaved and ending slavery as well as other social justice issues --The American Sign Museum, which is bursting with history and photo ops of neon signs and other historical signage, with a neon shop on site they restores and makes new signs --Beautiful riverfront Park that boasts the Roebling suspension bridge, the sister bridge designed by the same engineer/architect of the Brooklyn Bridge. --TONS of murals and street art all over the city --There is a contemporary art museum I am seeing next week. --There is a traditional art museum I am also seeing next week. This city is not without its troubles. Some neighborhoods are better than others. Just be aware of your surroundings. I did more driving than walking here because of some perceived or experienced issues (cat calling, harassment), but that's only certain areas. Downtown and the riverfront seem pretty walkable. It's no Chicago or NYC, but it's a solid midwestern town with a lot of offer, and it's definitely a great place to spend a long weekend.

I do agree with the others that you have to be careful with the speed limit. The cops will get you for speeding.

Visted station 6 of the Anderson Township Fire Department. Not for any sort of emergency mind you,…read morebut for a community open house. Station 6 played host to various emergency response units, as well as community partners, for a day of education, fun, and food. These type of events are great for both children and parents. Children get to enjoy climbing in and on the vehicles, trying on gear, and watching/participating in various demonstrations. This sort of outreach event helps eduate about newly added services. It also serves as a reminder to update information. Adults come home with a multitude of pamphlets. These pamphlets, combined with children's excitement of the day, acts as a great motivator for families to practice/ go over emergency safety plans at home. I thank the men and women who help keep Anderson safe, not only when there is an emergency, but before one can start.

Oh the Village of Batavia. It is so frustrating because this COULD be an amazing area similar to…read morethat of Downtown old Milford or Loveland, but alas that is not the case. The streets are lined with trees, benches, sidewalks and nice lampposts. The village does decorate for each season. There are so many historic buildings and the option for nice storefronts. There are multiple small businesses but not much that would be a draw. Right now there is Bean and Brew (a coffee/beer/food with a patio joint), a pizza place, and UDF. There is also a florist. There is ample, free parking. There aren't many events (even before the pandemic) other than a bi-yearly community garage sale. There is also a library and several churches. From what I hear there are some board members or commissioners that are keeping change and improvements from coming in. Sadly, for now, unless you have to be here for something else, its not worth the trip.
