That sounds about right because, all time, the Browns fall somewhere in the middle of the NFL's current 32 teams in terms of regular season record and towards the bottom in terms of playoff record. To date, in 33 playoff game appearances, the Browns have only managed to win 12 for a 12-21 record (.364). Before the 1970 AFL-NFL merger, the Browns were actually a successful team, winning the NFL Championship in 1950, 1954, 1955, and 1964. The first three of those championships were won by head coach Paul Brown for whom the team is named after. Brown was a very successful Ohio-born-and-bred football coach. He was the first to lead Ohio State to a national championship in college football (1942). Coincidentally, another Brown, who was instrumental in the Cleveland Browns' history, came along in 1957. That Brown turned out to be one of the greatest running backs of all time, Jim Brown. Jim Brown, who is in both the College Football and Pro Football Halls of Fame, played his entire nine-year NFL career with the Browns (1957-1965). Uniquely, the Browns were inactive for the 1996-1998 seasons when then-owner Art Modell tried to move the franchise to Baltimore. I don't like all the royalty that lives in Cleveland. I call them the "Cleveland Crowns". But all the little chicks with the crimson lips need to stop sucking on cherry lollipops because it's doing it for Drew Carey and that's just ethically wrong. Not to mention gross. And he likes Seattle anyway. First-Hand Experience: I've seen the Browns play at home (sadly I was not in the Dawg Pound) and I've also seen them get beaten at Ralph Wilson in Buffalo a few years ago. I really like the Browns through and watching them live was a pleasure, and I plan to do it again soon and to this time be inside the famous Dawg Pound. I don't think there is a better example of incompetence and insecurity than this franchise in recorded history. I have no faith that this ownership group has any idea what it wants to do or how to do it. My neighbors 9 year old child has better judgement than this group of owners. Tale of two franchise. The first branch of this franchise was dominate in the 1950s. The best football player in any era. In 1980s had tough losses in big games that changed the direction of the franchise. However, they have very loyal fans (even after the move to Baltimore). A sad state of affairs... Seems like every year this team has the # 1 overall pick in that years NFL draft. Sometimes even 2 or 3 in the first round. Let's see ... Johnny Manziel or trading up to get Rick Couch several years ago. Yet again this upcoming one. So many needs on both sides of the ball. They haven't been to the playoffs since 2002. Last victory in the postseason was January 1995. Definitely feel for their fans that sit in the Dawg pound. Some of the most loyal in all of football.
